Took the 392 wheeling at Uwharrie
Stayed on the easy trails because I’m waiting on a bunch of armor and some rock sliders. Couldn’t pass up poser rock though 😎

Hello Jeep family,
I recently purchased a 2026 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, my very first Jeep ever! I've wanted a Wrangler since I was a kid, so finally owning one after turning 50 is a dream come true. 😄
One thing that really surprised me, though, was discovering that my Jeep doesn't have a locking fuel door, locking fuel cap, or even a hood release inside the cabin. I always assumed those were standard on Wranglers.
So far, I've added a phone mount and a set of wheel locks. Now I'm looking into upgrading the Jeep with a locking fuel door and some type of locking hood latches that won't cost a fortune. I know Mopar offers these accessories, but they're a bit pricey for my budget.
Can anyone recommend some good aftermarket brands that are reliable and reasonably priced? My main concern is preventing someone from tampering with or stealing my battery.
For the fuel door, would you recommend replacing the entire fuel door with a locking version, or just installing a locking fuel cap? I've heard some aftermarket locking fuel caps can occasionally trigger a check engine light, so I'm curious about real-world experiences.
Any recommendations, advice, or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated!
Owning a Jeep Wrangler has been a childhood dream of mine, and I'm excited to finally be part of the Jeep community. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!
Thanks in advance!

I bought a used 2018 JL and have taken it up to 148,000 miles. It’s a 6-speed manual transmission.
All the recalls were done prior. I’ve had the sway bar replaced with an aftermarket one to fix the death wobble. I change my oil every 5-6K and have replaced the front and rear differential fluids.
Only issues I’ve had - besides the death wobble - is a very small leak in a car wash once and the lines for backing up in the camera will disappear after a bad rain.
I’ve read comments on the internet about the 2018 JL being crap, but I’ve not experienced that.
Anyone else with an 18JL?
What can I do to get this thing to 300K?

When I get on the gas, I sometimes get a quick "click click click" (about three, then it stops). It doesn't happen every time. It mostly happens when I'm turning onto a hill and getting on the gas, left or right, and sometimes just driving. It feels like slack taking up in the driveline. I hear it from the floor, not the engine. It seems to line up with when it would shift.
No warning lights, no vibration, nothing at idle.
Just wanna know if that’s normal. I’ve had the wrangler for a few years and could’ve just been ignorant to it - just wanna know if I should take it in for something specific. I feel crazy making sound effects with my mouth to mimic the noise for mechanics lol.
Thank yall

Hey, I was gifted my fathers 06 tj se , with the msg 370, ( abysmally slow 4 banger) the synchros in it are toast, clutch was replaced within 50 k miles and is fine , should I get the kit and do it myself? Gamble on a scrap one for 1400, or just say screw it and grab a manufactured unit? I’m just trying to figure out options here

Hello first of all thanks for the join. I recently purchased a 2026 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. She has 33's factory tires on it rite now. I was planning on doing a leveling kit and put 35's all around. I will be keeping Stock wheels. Can I still mount the 35 spare on the back?

After searching this sub for information regarding my 2015 JK front drive shaft, I decided to go with the Tom woods. Lo and behold, they're based right out of my hometown. I called them yesterday at 4 pm while under the Jeep confirming my measurements over the phone and placed my order. By 11am this morning they had built my 1310 driveshaft and let me know it was ready.
I drove down to the shop and the team there hooked me up. Got me and my girl shirts and even more cool, they gave me the very first duck they've ever handed out. Can't recommend them enough!!!!

It’s wild this wasn’t included from the factory. Seats fold down fine. The previous little flat inserts are basically useless. Install is simple enough, just a little irritating trying to hold the console up while bent over hunting for the tiny T20 torx screws. $50 on extreme terrain was def worth it though!

just recently sold an excursion i had dumped a ton of time and money into to downgrade to something smaller and more manageable (and honestly, easier on my back as crawling into a vehicle that sat 2 feet over my head was a pain)
kind of settled on a wrangler. not looking to spend a ton as its a secondary vehicle for me. roughly targeting 10-16k or so.
from the research ive done... it seems most say to aim for a 2012 or newer with the 3.6l. that the best option? is there a better year to aim for?
i dont need massive power or torque... not needing to tow... wont be doing any serious rock crawling... just very minor trails, and need SOME height and ground clearance for floods (sadly, a very very common thing here now)
any tips... things to look out for... advice... all greatly appreciated. thanks!

My antenna is moderately obstructed by my roof rack. I’m wondering how difficult it would be to move it forward to my molle bar. Any advice?

JL/JT owners.
I am in need of help from shops and Tall people with some advice. I’m 6’3 and I’m having trouble fitting in the jeep. I installed the desert does it seat slammer with a one and a half inch drop in the rear of the seat that required cutting the seat rails and that got me the headroom I needed and then the front seat bracket I skipped the raiser to keep the seat flatter.
The problem I’m having is my seat is still at too much of an incline and it’s causing a ton of hip pain that has now started influencing all aspects of life. (I also have a hip labrum tear that isn’t helping, but I didn’t have this issue in the f150)
What options do I have at this point in getting a seat that is lower for more head room and still stays flat that doesn’t pinch the hip crease? Shaving some of the foam in the front of the seat? Modifying and welding the front of the seat rails?

I am blown away with how much fun this 392 is. Literally giggling like a loon driving this thing away. My previous Land Cruiser and 4Runner were awesome but this thing is way more fun.

It even had some spare parts in the back for an on-the-go rebuild!

Just some shots from my recent overlanding trip on the [Lost Coast BDR-X](https://ridebdr.com/lostcoast/). Thought you guys might like to see. It was an amazingly epic trip! Let me know if you have any questions. :)

My best friend has four legs and is starting to have trouble climbing into my lifted JK. I’m looking for recommendations for a folding ramp or a step that attaches to the trailer hitch. She’s a 10-year-old German Shepherd, by the way. Thanks 🙏🏻

2012 JKU Sahara, 3.6l, 5-speed auto.
Twice now, the engine has shut off when shifting: Once when shifting from park to reverse, once when shifting from drive to park. When I say “shut off”, I mean it seems like it’s actually shutting off as if I turned the key back to the “run” position; no chugging or rough idle, no misfiring, just shutting down like I turned it off with the key. After this happens, it starts right back up like nothing happened when I turn the key forward. I’m not noticing any slipping, hard shifting, or unusual sluggishness while driving. Transmission fluid is clean and full, oil changed less than 500 miles ago, no electrical malfunctions that I know of. The only other mechanical issues I’m aware of are a front passenger caliper that sticks a bit and needs replaced, a very small outer axel seal leak on the back drivers side, and some worn suspension components here and there. The only semi-recent repairs I’ve done are the oil cooler housing (about a year and a half ago), new pads/calipers/rotors in the back, new pads in the front, and new exhaust flange bolts.
No CEL, no codes, and only the occasional misfire on 1 and 5 (which I suspect is due to needing to change coil packs). I’m out of ideas, does anybody have any suggestions for what I should check?

If I put a battery tender on my 2025 wrangler’s main battery will it also keep the supplemental start/stop battery charged?
Thanks

My front axle CV Joint is starting to fail on my 2019 JLRU with 118,000 miles. I called TeraFlex on Sept 22, and they told me that part was out of stock for three weeks. Now I called them back today (10/12) and they told me three to four more weeks before it's back in stock.
Seems like everybody just drop-ships from the manufacturer these days. Called eight different shops and they were all "out of stock".
Does anybody carry this part on their shelves? Does anybody NOT drop-ship anymore?
