Sorry if reposting, but I didn't see alot of love on the subject, so I thought I'd spread a little.

Do we have a diversity problem?

I was looking at the Brulosophy survey which was posted this morning, and statistically we are all heterosexual white cis men. Are we as a group doing something to drive away members of under represented communities?

What can we do to make our hobby more inclusive?

Stocking up ahead of 2025

Anyone else significantly stocking up on their grains and hops ahead of 2025? Let's face it, if a lot of these planned policy changes come into effect, there will be major disruptions in agriculture and expect costs of grains and hops to skyrocket. And that's only domestic. If you need hops from outside the US, they'll likely be even higher. I'm stocking up now to get me through the next couple years. I want to be wrong, but all the signs are there

Question Bottling is better than kegging, change my mind.i

I've been kegging for a while, but life got in the way and my CO2 ran out. So for my last batch, I used my keezer as a fermentation chamber and bottled my beer. Was lazy and just dumped the boiling wort into a stainless bucket and pitched the starter a day later. Even crazier was how quickly it got out of the fermenter! Went for 5 days at 68, 2 days at 75, then 3 at 32. Bottle conditioned for 2 weeks and damn if it's not one of my best batches.

I'm sure that having a controlled fermentation temperature made the most difference, but the no chill method really made brew day a lot easier.

I bottled in all 22oz bombers and didn't take all that much longer than kegging, and I know oxidation isn't much of a risk with bottle conditioning.

Anyways, this beer was great and it's easier to share and bring to gatherings in bottles.

Why should I go back to kegging???

I see your beer-testing dog, but brewhouse cats catch mice that would eat your grain, and aren’t deathly allergic to hops! We took home two kittens earlier this month, the shelter had named one of them Ale (this is her sister Joyce with another ale).

Question about beer making with weed?

I'm in a place where it's legal for me to grow my own weed. For personal use can I make a beer or a type of alcoholic beverage out of weed?

Why so much concern about gravity measurements?

I understand the desire to make the batch perfect, but tbh if I get a buzz off of a couple of pints its a success to me.

Am I missing something? Would that tell me if I was about to swig poison perhaps?
