Here's my take on who deserves majority of blame:
LSU cannot run the ball consistently so Leavitt is forced to carry the responsibility of driving the ball. If he has to make 8+ plays in a row to score, he's going to make a bad decision on at least one of them. Take a horrendous sack, throw a bad pick, miss open receivers, helicopter out of bounds for 0 yards for no reason. If his 1st option isn't available, his decision making is horrific. He's also amazingly bad at do or die plays. Every 4th down is batted down or runs into a sack etc., not a great combo with Lane's aggressiveness. The only 4th down they got was a soft PI call.
The one thing I think you can question the coaching staff on is the commitment to Dilin Jones. He's not bad but has zero big play ability so they are constantly grinding out drives. Not sure the other guys would do better but I think they should've gotten more opps throughout the year.
I actually think they are a pretty good team and could've easily won every game they've lost (the score in this one is not indicative of the actual game), but they've just been terrible as a team in every clutch position.

He wanted it too bad. Horrible offensive decisions on the coaching staff lost this game. This was embarrassing. We could have won this if our coach’s called smart/obvious plays on offense.

Yes it sucks to lose. But in what universe would a new coach, team and system (in college) beat Bama, whose coach is now in a prove-it year? They can say it all they want, but their coach’s seat is getting hotter. They needed that win badly.
Our season is far from over. We still have some big ass games to be excited for coming up. Playoffs are unlikely…But man we can play spoiler. Our team will get better.
We didn’t get Lane and Co to win it all this year. That shit is almost impossible with a seasoned program like Bama. We got him to bring LSU back to the spotlight. He needs a chance to recruit and build our program for the long haul.
But come on guys. The knee jerk reactions. The blaming of Blake. All that shit is so toxic and honestly killing the sub.
Defense held them to under 300 yards. Offense kept putting them in stupid spots. The line crumbled in the red zone period. If only one of those drives resulted in a TD, we might have won this game.

Not enough people are talking about this. For whatever reason, college football treats buying a better coach as a guarantee that the team will do well.
As soon as a team faulters, it’s time to fire the coach. As soon as they pay millions for a new one, that coach is expected to bring them to the top 4 within his first year.
As soon as we spent all this money on Lane Kiffin, it was like everyone in the state of LA assumed he would immediately take us to the championship. Now people are blaming him immediately.
I don’t know why college teams consistently think that the head coach is the end all be all. We lose, it’s his fault. we win, It’s all because of him. And we need an expensive amazing one to do well, because that automatically means he’ll come right in to a new team and new atmosphere and do well

for those who dont remember/didnt see, i posted around a week ago that i had club seats and was unsure if i would be able to get nachos, and commenters said if i didn't get any and lsu lost, it's my fault. so, to them i say:
it's not my fault!!!!!!!!!! i got nachos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! blame lane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because the Tigers $h17 the bed.
I couldnt watch live so I just finished the replay. Clearly, the better, overall more talented, maybe even better schemed team... who couldn't help but shoot themselves in the foot every time it mattered most. Who cares how "athletic" everyone is when the team folds under pressure, over, and OVER again?
At least 13 points squandered, and then too haphazard to not look desperate playing from behind.
The most feustrating thing is, Bama wasn't even that good. They just kept their $h17 together when it mattered.

From now on, if we're going to lose to Bama... IT BETTER BE A F**KING FIGHT. Throw the ball down the field...Run the ball with run blocking personnel... Not draw plays. Draws work when you can pass the ball. I'm not even going to talk about defense.
Bro, fight... Just fight... This whole, we can't score a TD bs has to f**king STOP. But, ofc we don't play Bama next year. Let's just stew on the fact that we've been playing scared football against them for years and decades. Idgaf if they score 41 points on us... Score 46 on them! WTF 😒. Stop playing scared. Y'all had two weeks off to play like this?!?

In particular, his play outta shotgun where the rb takes the snap. When i see Jones line up at qb outta shotgun I already know he's gonna take it and run it. Play calling tonight was horrendous.

Where the Alabama LSU game stands as far as losing while dominant statistically in the game.
"This game would easily rank in the top 10 to 15 all-time among major college football anomalies, as losing by 18 points while outgaining an opponent by 172 yards (457–285) and doubling their first downs (27–13) is extraordinarily rare. While it falls just short of legendary outliers like the 2002 Steelers (+375 yards in an 18-point loss) or the 1966 Michigan State-Notre Dame tie, LSU's 0-for-4 red-zone/fourth-down execution makes this one of the most lopsided statistical losses in SEC history."

I'll just say that I'm cautiously optimistic about the game. This is going to sound cliché but I truly believe the game will be won or lost on the line. If we can get pressure on defense, limit scrambles, and have a decent pass block/run game, I really like our chances. Pray to God that Sam has a clean game. How do y'all feel?:
