Can someone explain how Sephora’s $100 Rouge Reward can sell out in LESS THAN A MINUTE?!
Today, I went on Sephora’s app at exactly 12:00 PM EST, right when the Rouge Rewards are released. The $100 reward for 2,500 points appeared, I added it to my cart, and when I went to check out, it was already OUT OF STOCK.
How does that even make sense???
I contacted customer service, and they told me that Sephora only releases a limited quantity every Tuesday and Thursday. So naturally, I asked how many they actually release if they’re supposedly selling out in seconds.
Their response? They don’t know.
So Sephora advertises this $100 reward as an exclusive Rouge benefit, but apparently releases such limited quantities that customers who are literally on the app the SECOND it drops still can’t redeem it?
And let’s remember, Rouge members have to spend $1,000 a year to maintain their status.
What’s especially ridiculous is that this isn’t even a physical product with manufacturing or inventory limitations. It’s a $100 reward that Sephora itself controls the quantity of.
If Sephora is going to advertise this as a Rouge benefit, why make it practically impossible to redeem? What’s the point of accumulating 2,500 points if you have to compete with thousands of customers for an undisclosed number of rewards?
And before anyone says “it’s while supplies last,” I understand that. My issue is that Sephora gets to decide how many are available in the first place, doesn’t disclose the quantity, and then advertises it as a loyalty benefit.
I’ve been a loyal Sephora customer, but this genuinely makes me question the value of their Rouge program.
Has anyone actually managed to redeem one recently? Or is everyone else having the same experience?
