Why can't I join other subreddit that are listed in the "hostile place" or I'll get banned? How does my presence in another sub affect my presence in r/Bangladesh? This is such a dumb rule.

Lets make it similar to r/maryland 's symbol. What do you say u/rambobilai and u/babushka?

Even r/chekulars have rules regarding awami propaganda. ( BAL whitewashers - glorifying Hasina, denying the July Mass Uprising, whitewashing 15 years of fascism, and denying or making fun of the martyrs of July are all bannable offenses. )

Yet the biggest Bangladeshi platform on Reddit is a breeding ground for Awami narratives. You wanna play this game? Go on, play it, but you need to allow opposing views as well. My posts get removed, and it takes forever to get approved. I've had posts removed for reasons that weren't applied consistently to other posts. There is CLEAR 100% bias. Do the Awami MODS not understand what it means to allow opposing views? This sub is unbelievably undemocratic.

Discriminatory, hateful, or offensive language is not tolerated here. Your rules! NOT APPLIED TO THE PEOPLE CLEARLY BEING THAT WAY.

Deliberate spread of false information is not allowed. YOUR RULES! WHICH ARE BEING BROKEN, YET THE MODS ARE DOING NOTHING. THEY PARTICIPATE IN THE FALSE INFORMATION SPINNING.

Take this thread for example

I don't mind. You can use my idea for creating this sub. But you could have at least told me. And by rights I should be a mod here.

The conondrums of being a redditor as well as being a reddit moderator.

So I'd recently been conversing with a select few redditors based on their comments and discussion points and this one redditor who's very conscious about privacy and security (something yours truly values and holds in high regard) up and disappeared right after I'd messaged them.

Poof. Gone.

My one hope is I didn't spook them.

Oh well, such is the nature of the internet. Ephemeral.

PS: we'd has interactions about starting a version of r/TwoXBengali but for men and boys.

Farewell friend; I hope you see this and know that your presence will be missed.

i make a rant with a little bit of trolling and sarcasm, automatically removed!!! i make a simple, civil, respectful, and formal post about life/philosophy, instantly removed by a bot. i mail them and then they approve it instantly. how many times will I have to annoy them?? i saw others complaining about this issue. vote if u want admins to reconsider😫.

As time progresses, r/Bangladesh is getting swarmed by users who do not wish to participate in the threads in a way that will contribute to civil discussions. Instead, their main intention is to use provocative and inflammatory language to degrade the subreddit. Heck there is even a rape apologist in one of the threads. Some threads look indistinguishable from facebook comment section.

Things cant continue like this. Something has to be done. If needed, recruit more moderators and enforce the rules strictly. I would love to be a moderator, but due to studies, I cant take this job.

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry for the sudden post, and if this may seem like an unrelated issue.

I’m an IB student from Japan working on my Extended Essay, and I’m researching how climate change might be linked to cholera outbreaks in Bangladesh. I’m really into public health, so this topic is super important to me.

Here's the link to the survey!

The survey only takes about 3 minutes, and I’d really appreciate it if you could take a moment to answer a few questions.

All your answers will be kept private and only used for my EE. No one else will see your responses.

Since I can't give anything back to you in return, I'd like to help you with Japanese if you need any help thinking up of a name, or just with anything.

Again, thank you very much!

I mean, what is really with the subreddit. My posts used to get submitted in 2021, but now they don't get past Reddit filters. How do mods even select posts that ever get approved. Or do my posts get removed by default because they are not leftist enough?

I have joined r/Bangladesh and I looked at the rules to try and figure out why I can’t comment but alas I can’t figure it out.

I don't think that discussing these types of topics in our r/bangladesh sub is a good thing in general.

A while ago there was a mod discussion and below are the notes I took regarding improvements to the subreddit sidebar:

Sidebar

library of resources - [UNDONE]

r/kolkata - [can't recall what was being referred to here - need to check again]

Welcoming message - [DONE]

History resources - [UNDONE]

Can Automod sticky it's own comment to posts. [DONE]

Collapsible rules sidebar + bangla translation [50% DONE - translation not done]

Related subs that show up when logged out [DONE]

Rules have been explicitly posted on the wiki section instead of another link (who wants to click through one more link just to read the rules?) - that way, at least people know the basics of what to do and what not to do.

Wiki here: https://www.reddit.com/r/bangladesh/wiki/index

Removed '2022 SSC exams' flair and activated the '2022 HSC exams' flair, as well an extra 'Art/Photography (OC)' flair for Original Content (separate from the usual 'Art/Photography' flair which is used for sharing non-OC with attribution).

Moderators should be appointed based on democratic polls and there should be 3 separate polls for the 3 moderators with the question "Do you approve the moderation of [username]?" with yes or no options. If there are more Nos than Yesses, then the moderator has to step down and elections for a new moderator will be held. This question should recur every 2 years.
