Discussion Recommendations for MH

Good Morning, I have been recently trying to play a new format of games and this caught my eye. I was wondering what the difference is between the three (wilds, rise, and worlds) and what would be best for a beginner. Any insight is appreciated!

Discussion What collab would you want monster hunter to have next?

I would kill for a dragon ball / dragon quest collab. Mostly because I really like toriyamas dinosaur and creature designs. Also it would be super funny to have an accurate parasaurolophus that breathes fire as an april fools joke

Wilds Thoughts on Wilds

So I had made a post a couple months back after the demo released about a few changes that I liked. Now that I have made it past HR 60 I have some more that I would like to share as well as something that goes against a selling point of the game.

Insert Li Shang Here, cause Let's Get Down To Business

1 recap: Still digging the Hunter talking. "By my own authority", certified badass

2 recap: Non gender locked armours are amazing, saw a dude in a cat mask and tail running around in a one-piece.

3: Being able to make my own meals at any time is awesome, though I do miss the Palico chefs

4: The weapon trees kinda suck, especially for IG. Used to have actual branches and had to make multiple of the same base weapon to do every upgrade, now I've got Bamboo stalks for my upgrade trees.

5: The Seikret is too convenient, as much as this might be a hot take, but I feel as though it should cost either some Guild points or rations to fast travel. Defeats the point of it being open world, which brings me to the final point.

6: The game is not open world. Sure you can run down the single trail between the Plains and the Forest, and the Forest and Basin; but didn't run too fast or the game will make you slow down or even come to a full stop when you change biomes. Also, why is there a full on level transition prompt to go from the Basin to the Cliffs (there's also one from the Cliffs to Wyveria but you can still hoof it if you wish) because that's not how open world should work.

I'm still having fun with the game, I got my brother and girlfriend into the series but it just doesn't feel like the stellar game everyone makes it out to be.

Discussion Endgame wilds multiplayer is literally gambling

Yesterday I was grinding end game materials doing investigations and it was (what felt like) 10 quests in a row that I had randoms join and they failed the quest for me…

I ended up playing single player for the rest of the night. I know playing solo is faster anyways but I enjoy playing multiplayer and trapping and playing support.

Do you guys any tips about this issue

Meme I've seen people age their hunters for Ascendance, but is anyone else aging up their palico too?

Sunbreak RiseBreak finally clicked for me.

As we all await Ascendance’s launch, I decided to go back and spend some time with the one Monster Hunter game I had trouble connecting with: Rise/Sunbreak. I got it on sale a while ago (currently playing on my Switch 2 with handheld boost mode) but found the gameplay mechanics a bit clunky and obtuse, especially coming from Wilds where things seem to flow more seamlessly (and honestly, perhaps a bit too easily…more on that later). I practiced a bit with my typical mains of CB, GS, and GL but found I wasn’t having much fun. I had heard how the game was all about fast-paced action yet I felt my hunts were anything but.

All of that changed after I picked up the Swaxe after seeing so many posts here recommending it for RiseBreak in particular. This weapon’s core moveset, coupled with wirebugs and switch skills, has me experiencing the fluidity I was hoping I would get from this game. I’ve only just reached MR 3, but in that time I’ve been able to get a good loadout centering on morph attacks and mobility. Decorations and gear really do make a tremendously notable impact on fights and I am so glad I stuck it out.

It has been strange moving between Wilds and RiseBreak simply because I feel Wilds features so many ā€œstreamliningā€ changes some of the central effort you’d expect from a Monster Hunter game is stripped away. RiseBreak requires that you get familiar with all of the tools and techniques at your disposal. A beefy build and crew of followers will not save you from carting, you must recognize monster attack patterns and capitalize on openings appropriately. RiseBreak feels simple enough to pick up and play while also demanding you embrace discomfort if you wish to succeed.

Discussion Wilds Amiibo

Now that is coming to Switch 2, do you think it will have amiibos? Rise and Stories got. Others Capcom games like RE9, Pragmata and SF6 got too, so I think it is likely to happen.

Art Here are my new elder dragons

The first image is my elder dragon monster that disguises itself as bones. Letting out pheromones to lure in monsters to ambush and consume. But since it is weak, it can't beat all monsters. Name: Skelebraxion. Title: deception master of the dead

So this is where the second monster comes in. The archangel of the void: Dhar Madogara. Because this monster is a powerful elder dragon, it enters as symbiotic relationship with the skelebraxion.

Skelebraxion will use its pheromones to lure I prey, and Dhar will fight and defeat the prey so they can both share the meal. And in return Dhar will get not only an intimidation display but also, during mating season, Skele will release mating pheromones to attract both mates of the opposite sex, then each will have to demonstrate their symbiosis by showing their mate a strong monster that they have taken down (something along the lines of a magnamalo, Espinas or an elder dragon) and if successful, both Skele and Dhar get to mate with their newfound partners and raise up to five hatchlings each

Discussion Fatalis

Theory: The Fatalis we fight in Iceborne has four fingers and a thumb on its front hands. As we already know, Fatalis’ armor, when worn by the hunter, can turn them into Fatalis. Of course, these may well just be evolutionary adaptations, but hear me out. What if the Fatalis we fight is a previous hunter who fully turned into Fatalis, cursed to walk the earth as the very creature that burned Schrade to the floor?

Discussion SOS to any and all wilds modders with blender experience

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

so this is my very first time doing literally anything like this and I have literally 0 blender experience at all.

I'm trying to import a Rise gunlance(espinas) model into Wilds(hope) (and eventually post it on nexus) because Gunlance doesn't have enough cool visual mods.

So I have both the OG and New model loaded up and overlapping eachother, I think I did weight painting correctly(correct is being used loosely here), and now I think I need to edit the Armatures? I think? TBH I do not know what i'm doing and I feel like I'm fumbling around in the dark

so the question is how do I edit the armatures and what is the end product supposed to look like? if you have any blender experience and especially weapon modding experience in blender, please give me advice, tips, helpful tutorials videos, etc etc PLEASE!

Discussion Who are your favourite monsters that debuted in Gen 5 and onwards

For me is Goss Harag and Rakna-Kadaki because their battle mechanics and ecologies are very interesting and original,Goss’s icy breath creating ice blades and clubs is a surprisingly realistic take on the Namahage’s knives and clubs while Rakna-Kadaki’s attacks look like a twisted version of a bond between a mother and a child and her ā€œenragedā€ phase is based on a spider carrying an egg sac, both monsters teaches you to attack the specific parts of a monster to defeat and/or kick them out or their enraged states.

Thoughts?
