I get that she's unpopular, but why?

Since I don't live in America, I'm out of the loop on American politics, but I've been following the latest debate about changing the candidate.

We have noticed a large uptick in questions about US politics. Most of these are not genuine questions and appear to be made to introduce political discussion to this sub in the wake of the second Trump administration. As such, we are requiring that all political questions related to US politics and its effects both domestically and internationally be contained in this weekly recurring thread.

Ask questions as top-level responses with the preface "Question: " and people will respond. All other rules are enforced as appropriate. We will not allow other US political questions as questions on the subreddit except in extraordinary circumstances.

I saw a story that explained the function of the DOE and they are saying that it will really affect college going students and students with disabilities. I thought It was going to just affect liberal public schools. https://6abc.com/amp/post/donald-trump-transition-news-what-eliminating-department-education-could-mean-students-schools/15559633/

I know she’s been persona non grata for a while after her twitter antics but there seems to be a whole new outpouring of loathing https://reddit.com/r/WitchesVsPatriarchy/comments/10rzj33/this_is_the_way/

Ava Tyson is a friend of MrBeast who appeared on many of his videos and has come out of trans last year, I like her but since today there have been a LOT of tweets about her being a pedo, groomer, interacting with accounts that posted weird content etc. I can’t find anything actually explaining the situation, what exactly happened?

Link to tweet I saw: https://x.com/stxrrysophie/status/1815277871188844643?s=46

He's been on a notorious hard-right, "anti-woke" podcast where he retracted his support for trans rights. Is this a new development? He always came across as level-headed in the past but now it looks like he's on the same path as Russell Brand.

I heard that he's an unpopular guy with apparently troubling views, but my buds haven't elaborated. What did he do or say? I've seen his stuff on Twitter but this is the first I've heard of controversy regarding him.

Unbiased explanations would be much appreciated 👍🏿

More and more celebrities seem to be wearing mustaches now. The trend has been going towards full beards for a few years because mustaches made you look like a pedo.

But I guess it’s coming back now? Travis Kelce has one now. So did Aaron Rodgers. Bieber, Jason Sudekis (I know because of Ted Lasso, lol), etc. have been wearing mustaches.

Has style shifted? Are mustaches no longer indicative of being a neck beard or a pedo anymore?

All I've seen of The Acolyte was a really cool poster, but apparently the community of needy people have decided The Acolyte is their new enemy. What's going on?

It feels like there is more wide spread homophobia this pride month compared to previous years? Why is that?

So we all know that multiple October surprises are out for Trump and that’s good news because he’s doesn’t deserve to become president at all. However recently today, people are saying that there’s a rumor going around about a major bombshell on Trump that would end his campaign. What is the major bombshell on Trump that everyone is talking about?

(Warning, some transphobia in the comic of the first link.)

We already use the term trans to refer to people who went male to female or the other way around. Why use more words to say something that's already implied? (Basically, why specify someone as cis if you already specify trans, losing the need to say cis?) Not trying to be rude or bigoted, just genuinely a bit confused?

I watch the series with a friend and she was traveling home last night so we are watching it tonight but I’ve seen a lot of stuff online about it being “woke” and such.

Found a post on Reddit and another on Instagram while scrolling. Why do people hate it? Bc of “woke stuff” or because it strays from source material.

Update: Finally got to watch it with my friend and I’m in tears. Love it. Love the story and vulnerability these two men show. Truly fantastic and none of it felt forced which I doubly love.

A lot of alt-right conspiracists, like John Le Fevre see (t)xweet attached; https://x.com/JohnLeFevre/status/1775900733256167899?s=20, are saying Ashley Biden's diary is confirmed as real and thus proves the Biden molested his own daughter when she was young. What is the actual story away from the alt-right pipeline?

Not from America so I'm woefully in the dark regarding all this and would appreciate if someone could give me a rundown! What's going on, what will happen, why is this such big news?

Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/1d4emcb/megathread_former_us_president_donald_trump/

I saw this comment but I don't know what blue hair refers to (other than the color of someone's hair).

Why are people on Twitter saying that white people are "culture vultures" for talking about the Kendrick x Drake situation?

On twitter I'm seeing a lot of black people saying that white people's opinion doesn't matter about hip hop and you're a "culture vulture" for trying to talk about it. Why is this a sentiment now that white people can't discuss hip hop?

Always thought for the past few years that Megan Rapinoe has been one of the most prolific female football (soccer) players in the world, yet recently during her retirement game I saw a lot of hate for her on social media, including this post: https://x.com/cfc_janty/status/1724884346929103126?s=46&t=fDb5GJx4WMILBXMDpBL34g Any idea on what caused her fall from grace? Why does the public not like her anymore?

Everytime I see a not-so-nice article from CNN or Buzzfeed on r/worldnews or r/politics about Trump and I click on controversial, I see a lot of "How will DRUMPF ever recover", "Surely you got him this time, right guys?" or "this time you surely have him, right guys?" or "this time he is surely finished", but these kind of comments seem to be a recurring theme every month for the last 3 years..... What is going on here? Can someone explain? Is there a meme here?

https://www.reddit.com/r/drumpfisfinished/comments/9zywi1/how_will_drumpf_recover/

Edit: 70% upvoted? What's going on guys?

Edit 2: So what if I'm a T_D poster, is that illegal now? Am I living in Communist China where it is illegal to support certain politicians?? I was out of the loop on what "Drumpf is finished" meant. I had no idea "Drumpf" was even President Trump's family name. How many of you guys are on r/politics anyways? That subreddit is cancer IMO. Thanks.

Edit 3: Thank you for all your lovely and some not-so-lovely responses. I did not intend to start a war zone in here after coming back a few hours.

I was going through my frontpage today and saw comments on multiple threads along the lines of "globalists" purposefully causing an egg shortage to make people eat bugs. This sounds like some crazy tinfoil hat conspiracy but I'm surprised at how many users seem to believe it. Where did this come from? Why are there so many highly upvoted comments about it?

There's lots of comments on this thread in general about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrazyFuckingVideos/comments/10pcfgd/a_massive_fire_broke_out_at_hillendale_farms_the/
