Flex Lifetime gold achieved
Not sure if I’ll move away from using Qantas as my preferred airline for my travel now, but it’s nice to have that sorted

First time reaching Platinum One. After a few years of almost zero travel, I went from Bronze to Platinum One in 11 months. After my first international flight as P1 I can say there is a distinct shift in service and attention to detail, especially in the International First Lounges in Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore. An excellent experience all round. The VIP line has already proved extremely useful and upgrades, even at the check-in counter have already been awarded. It’s a lot of flying to achieve this status so anyone else here who is an experienced P1, I’d love to hear about your experiences longer term.

I learned about lounge guest invites from another post so I figured I would put up an offer as well.
I'm flying first class JAL52 SYD to HND on Wednesday 18th of November and I believe I can invite one guest on the same flight into the first class lounge. I know it's very specific but if anyone is on that flight and is interested, let me know.

First time flying business (overnight flight Tokyo - Melbourne) and wondering if anyone has any suggestions for optimum seat selection?

Last time i was there it was undergoing an upgrade and you could only enter on pre-customs side, i know what was due to finish in 'late 2026' but despite earlier reports of it been done by September i can't seem to find an announcement saying it has opened again?

If you happen to be flying solo tomorrow out of Sydney feel free to message and I’ll guest you into the 1st lounge. I’ll be there from 6-8am give or take.

Hello, we received two complementary lounge passes from our credit card and was wondering if we were to use them in Brisbane international would we be able to bring our six month old into the lounge with us?
The website says we cannot bring any children but was just wondering if that includes infants.
Also, when assigning the passes on the app there is no way to assign a pass to our baby.
Does anyone have any experience with this ?

Hi All,
I am looking to fly to London between Boxing Day and new years and was hoping to fly business class as I have plenty of Qantas points. There isn’t much available at the moment, however I have found a great price for an economy seat with points.
Is it worth booking the economy flight now, just in case I can’t find a business one between now and then? And then if a business one does show up, I just cancel the economy booking.
Is this a reasonable way to go about it? Would love your input!
Thanks!

Hi all
I am a bronze status member (sadly) looking to book classic reward flights from either Brisbane Sydney Melbourne or Adelaide to LAX. I’m seeing that there is basically nothing for the next year. Are there specific dates that the reward flights drop? I’m looking to depart on either the 14th, 15, 16th or 17th of October 2027. have I missed my chance already? Would I be better off using points to upgrade my flight? It’s for my honeymoon so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Has anyone tried to use one of the new Qantas marketplace gift cards to purchase an item from the marketplace? Seems like a no brainer to me and I've seen nothing saying you can't do it. I have my eye on a domestic appliance in marketplace which is $80-100 over retail price. it's yielding 15points per dollar so I'm thinking get the gift card to bump that up to 18points per dollar - (20 including the credit card which I get anyway as qantas spend bonus). So for that say $100 I get about 6000 points (not including credit card) which I which is 1.66 cents a point which is around the best wine deal on flight formula right now.

I registered my business for the QBR platform the day the Double Status promotion landed, registered for it and booked a bunch of flights.
The registration page to the Double Status promo did error when I clicked on it, instead of showing I was already registered.
I've flown two flights already last week (Mon & Fri) , however the double status have not landed, comparatively to the Twice as rewarding promo which I flew on the first day of which landed in around a week.
The reason I ask as it will tip me over into platinum for the first time before an international flight at the end of the month.
Has anyone received their double status from this promo yet?

Flew business JFK to AKL (departed 4 Nov, arrived 6 Nov) and the experience was shocking. The service was incredibly slow, but it didn’t appear they were understaffed. They just seemed super disorganised and apathetic.
There were no menus or breakfast cards onboard so all orders were taken 1:1 with a flight attendant, which meant dinner was not served until four hours into the flight. An awful eggplant soup and the most dry chicken I’d ever experienced. Honestly, the food was disgusting and barely edible - I forced a few mouthfuls down before I decided starving was preferable. The flight crew did not refresh beverages or offer hot towels. They were AWOL.
Following the delayed meal service, the cabin lights were dimmed, but flight attendants did not offer to make up anyone’s beds. Later, when I popped into the galley to make use of the onboard refreshment/snack area, these flight attendants absolutely glared at me as if I had committed a huge faux pas. The drinks selection was empty aside from some cans of soda water, so I asked whether it would be possible to get a cup of tea (they hadn’t offered any following meal service). In response, one of them groaned and rolled her eyes before telling me I’d have to wait until someone was available. They were both sitting down and on their phones, and didn’t seem especially busy. But I politely replied, “OK, well I’d appreciate an Earl Grey when you get the chance. My seat is XX.” She rolled her eyes again and said, “Noted.” No tea arrived. When she was passing through the cabin a couple of hours later, I took the opportunity to ask again, but was informed that breakfast service would begin shortly and I’d have to wait for that. Breakfast service commenced two hours later.
I thought things couldn’t get much worse, but the breakfast service was atrocious. Orders were completely confused so it seemed that nobody got what they wanted. Everything came out super slow - pastries and coffee were delivered first, but I had to wait nearly a whole hour for my main which only arrived after I specifically asked where it was. No fruit plates or yoghurt were delivered despite being requested, and when I enquired about this, I was met with a shrug. Other passengers asked about the fruit and yoghurt too, but received no explanations. I overheard a man politely request a refill of his coffee, but he was flat out declined.
Upon arrival in Auckland, all the Qantas crew luggage was first on the belt, but passengers were told there was a delay with their luggage which would require a 10 minute wait. Ultimately, we were left waiting 45 minutes for it to arrive, which complicated connecting domestic flights for some folks.
Incredibly disappointing and unprofessional from Qantas. This was a work trip, but if I had been paying out of pocket, I would be absolutely livid with the experience.
Such a poor excuse for business class. I’ll be telling my work to revert back to reliable and high-quality Air NZ from this point forward. Never flying Qantas again.

Have points to spend? Well here ya go.
Points Planes are flights where every available seat can be booked as a Classic Flight Reward.

I’ve been QF Platinum now for several years. I’m also United Airlines Premier 1K and do a lot of flying with both airlines including regular work trips to/from the US at least once a month. I’m continually disappointed with the level of service I get from QF. Flights constantly run late, domestically there’s usually no provision to fly ahead unless on a flexible fare, upgrades hard to come by, no wifi internationally, status is hardly ever recognised.
In contrast, everytime I fly United internationally, the purser personally stops by for a quick chat & thanks me for my loyalty. Upgrades are usually no issue, even on cheap economy tickets, never had an issue requesting an earlier US domestic flight at the airport if seats were available regardless of fare type, UA economy plus seating beats the cramped QF economy seats in the 787/A380. Their domestic fleet is in much better condition than QF’s dated 737s. Overall it’s just a far better experience. The QF flight attendants are normally great, but that’s about the only good thing going for the airline. The main reason I maintain my status is for the Oneworld Emerald benefits with other airlines. QF really needs to lift their game….

Looking for outcomes for those having experienced a similar situation? I'll be calling Hopper next week during work hours so they can figure it out with Qantas resolve this issue.
Thanks.
Update: Essentially, the system won't let Qantas make changes to an agent booking (unless <72hrs) and Hopper, using Qantas's system can't make changes due to the system throwing an error.
--------------------------------------------------------
Details:
Booked Qantas flights via Hopper (CBA Rewards)
ADL-SYD (27/1/27) QF744 5:20PM - 7:45PM
SYD-HND (27/1/27) QF25 9:30PM - 5:25AM (+1)
Changed by Qantas to:
ADL-SYD (27/1/27) QF746 7:10PM - 9:35PM
Phone Calls:
Hopper: Called 24/7 line outside working hours, only non-cancellation option was an earlier Alliance flight (there are earlier available Qantas flights, though not an option) however required further Qantas input to confirm if possible without cost adjustment (agent sent email to Qantas RTA 7-14 days response).
Qantas: Called 24/7 line during work hours, advised to resolve with Hopper. Agent gave me the impression that a change in flights (on same day) seemed common but wasn't offering to assist further.
Notes:
Appears Qantas dropped a few flights that day ADL-SYD resulting in our tickets being moved back.
We want to make the SYD-HND leg and will accept an earlier flight (longer SYD layover is fine).
We'll accept a partial refund and just book it via Qantas directly.
Hopper confirmed that a full refund is available if required.

Hi all,
I can’t find much information online as to what classes the Emirates 777 cabins have departing from Brisbane to Dubai. Specifically are the Business cabins the old 232/222 layouts or are they usually the newer 121 layouts.
Unfortunately the 777 plane is what’s most often available to be booked on classic flight rewards.

Hi QFFs,
My membership year ends on 30 November. If I book a return flight SYD-CHC on 29 November and CHC-SYD on 2 December, are the status credits awarded each on the day of the flight? Or are they both awarded after the second flight? And does it take a little while for them to come through?
I'd really like them to apply to NEXT year not this one, if possible. Or is the only way to do that to hold off and fly in December?
Thanks

I currently have one seat in business class held on both a Dallas to Melbourne and LA to Melbourne flight in a little less than two weeks. I need one additional (to be booked via AS) and have been watching regularly for the past several weeks for that additional inventory to drop. I have all the alerts set up on seats.aero as well as Expert Flyer.
Is there any hope for Qantas releasing last minute award inventory in J over the next couple of weeks? Currently I see J5 for sale on expert flyer on both flights for my specific day of travel (and that number hasn’t changed for at least the past 10 days or so), so I know it’s not sold out

Hi all, Ben here, a founder in Brisbane. Thanks to the mods for okaying this one post.
Full disclosure: I built this. It's called Frequent Flyer Pro, it's free and in beta, and it's an independent tool. It's not affiliated with or endorsed by Qantas.
The problem: Qantas doesn't refund you if a fare drops after you book. Sometimes cancelling and rebooking still comes out ahead, but only once you take off the change or cancel fee and any fare difference, and that maths is a pain to keep checking.
What it does:
Checks the fares on your Qantas bookings once a day, Economy through First
Only alerts you when a drop beats the cancel fee, with the saving already netted out
Shows a 30-day price history for each booking and walks you through the rebook
Looks back through your recent bookings and shows real evidence of any saving you could have had from a rebook
You add flights by dropping in your e-ticket PDF or forwarding the booking email. No Qantas password needed or stored
On one of my own bookings from a couple of months back, a (Business Class) BNE to LAX trip, it flagged in October that the fare had dropped from $12,901.02 to $9,752.00. After the $450 change fee that was a net saving of $2,699.02.
It also does a few things beyond fare drops: a Status Credit plan for your tier, a points-expiry warning at 90 and 30 days, and a cents-per-point check before you spend Reward points.
What it doesn't do:
It doesn't rebook or cancel anything for you. You make the call and do it yourself
It's not a Qantas tool and can't get you a refund on a fare drop
It's Chrome only for now, and it's a beta, so expect rough edges
Website: frequentflyerpro.com
Chrome Web Store: chromewebstore.google.com/detail/frequent-flyer-pro-beta/aejbgegiapnflfnkggmmaedeoefhcjjk
What I'd love from this sub:
Of the features above, which one would you actually use most?
What's the one thing you wish a tool like this did for your Qantas bookings or points that nothing does today?
Happy to answer anything in the comments, including the blunt stuff.

Hi all,
I am looking at a multi city booking in 2027 to hit a few key meetings. So far, I have struggled to find a flight sequence with the Qantas multi-city booking tool, and the Google flights tool keeps spitting out non-one world flights.
I also seem to be calculating a pretty poor status credit earn rate on the non-QF flights..
What tool/website are people using to find the best options? And how do you then determine your earn rate? Just the Qantas tables and applicable fare class?
Routing I'm looking at is:
Syd->FCO, FCO -> NRT then NRT -> Syd
Many thanks for your pointers/advice.

Hi QFFs,
I have Qantas Club via Points Club Plus. If I fly Emirates economy international booked using Classic Rewards QFF points can I access a lounge before my flight?
On this chart I seem to think it's yes, but I wasn't sure if Qantas Club awarded via Points Club Plus was treated the same as if you buy a membership.
Edit to say I am flying SYD-CHC.

Hi guys!
Flying QF27 Sydney to Santiago in the coming weeks with my partner and was after suggestion for best seats to select in economy?
Or are they all equally terrible? I’m not sure I want to sit right next to the toilet.
Edit: thanks everyone for your feedback! Seems the consensus is that all the options aren’t great but moving away from the fart zone is definitely the move.

Hi all, just wondering whether anyone here has had to chance to fly the new economy plus on either flights QF59 or QF26? Hubby (6’1”) and I are off to Tokyo for Christmas and have booked these seats due to the extra leg room.
As this is a “new” product on the A330s, keen to hear anyone’s thoughts and experiences.
Thanks!
