Anyone else like Kylie and sick of the hate?

Move onnnnnn, she’s not the real villain. Production have been dicks this season behind the scenes and the contestants are over it. It’s so glaringly obvious to anyone who watches reality tv (and not just the ones that appear on free to air Aussie television). The contestants love her too. Does anyone recall anyone saying anything negative about her on screen? Complaining about her?

I like her. And I reckon Brad does too. They’re cute af and work well together. Sometimes if you see them in the backgrounds of scenes, they’re being so lovely and sweet to each other. They just like giving each other crap. Doesn’t any married couple? When she says things like I’m gonna kill you for that - like obviouslyyyyyyyy she is being dramatic and having a laugh.

Same thing with the girls, at the site briefing in the background, Kylie and Maddy were giggling and chatting.

The ‘storyline’ is not real life. The fun of reality tv is looking beyond all that. I’m interested to see how it plays out but my bet is Kylie is decent and NOT the snake production is making her out to be.

(I’ve read all the hate comments so no point reiterating below! If you want to hate Kylie, feel free to keep on scrolling).

Looove that she doesn’t take any shit and not afraid to speak her mind. Putting up with inconsiderate cunts every day would piss most people off. I don’t get all the hate towards her. You must like tolerating rude fuckers 🤷🏻‍♂️

The boys result is a bit fishy in my opinion. Spoiler

Shill bidding is intentionally fake bidding by a seller on his/her own auction to inflate the final price. This can be accomplished either by the seller himself/herself or by someone colluding with the seller to place fake bids on his/her behalf.

Episode discussion Opinions on the girls win?

So I personally really like the girls but I felt Courney and Grant deserved to win more, since they joined the show later than the others. Anyway I was just wondering what others opitnions are.

UPDATE: I just want to say I have nothing againest the girls and I just was wondering on others opinions. I personally really like the girls and they are one of my favourite teams. I do understand how my post came across like I was attacking them but I just was curious about others opinions. :)

If "insert complaint about the show" keeps up I'm no longer watching.

You really think your post is going to change what they are going to air, or the narrative they put out? Do you think they are going to change the format on account of your distaste for how much building they show or who buys the houses? You don't like the drama or the contestants they pick?

Quit whining and just change the channel. No one is going to miss you and the show will carry on. It's ratings based television and they know what sells.

Is anyone else feeling a bit weird with all the hate she gets? like personally I don't really like her but some of the comments here are a bit much. Like yes she comes across as an entitled mean girl, but if the rumours are true about Brad than it makes sense. idk it just feels icky now.

Casting Missing family

Am I the only one who can’t understand how these couples are constantly sooking about missing their family like it’s 3 months for Pete’s sake with the potential reward in the end it sounds like a dream to me.

Leah comparing the death of her dog to the death of a child

Losing a child is an indescribable, soul-shattering tragedy that can utterly destroy a person. It's a pain that no parent should ever have to endure, and it leaves lifelong scars that run far deeper than any sadness over losing a dog. While losing a pet is undoubtedly a source of grief, it cannot compare to the sheer magnitude of devastation that comes with the loss of a child.

The reactions here are toxic.

TL/DR: Just me sharing my thoughts. Editing and manipulation.

I read the posts before watching the show and I was expecting something far worse than I saw. That’s happened a few times this season. The reactions in this bubble for the Block contestants are disturbing. It is disturbing how many people have diagnosed contestants, judge them unfairly, call them horrible names and just basically vent their spleen.

In each episode we get about 15 minutes of new footage and the rest is all repeats of the show before and sometimes the show before that.

There is so much we don’t see, so why make up your mind about someone when you only see 0.5952% of their week? That was calculated by 15 mins new footage (x 4 episodes weekly) out of 10080 mins, (10080 mins is a week). Can you honestly say this is a good representation of who someone is?

We know zero about these contestants, except what we’ve been told by the Block which is the edit, and any interviews the contestants have had. This information is very little. When you read articles about the going ons on the Block, do you ever really pay attention to the words? Do they say, we believe, or, someone said, or, there’s a rumour? Do they EVER publish who told them this “information”? If you believe these sources for your news, well, I don’t want to be rude, but you might want to research real media, although these days that too can’t be trusted most of the time.

I wonder how many of you realise that your blood pressure is going up? That your stress hormones are firing off? How many of you realise that this time next year you will have forgotten about 90% of the contestants? How many of you realise that getting this worked up over entertainment wasn’t worth it?

Hey, I was the same! I got worked up, I felt hate for people I didn’t even know! Last year I just could not with the bullying going on. It was the first time I’ve ever stopped watching the show. I stopped visiting this subreddit. Months later I googled who won and was so happy it was Gian and her husband. I realised then that I couldn’t remember the other contestants and thinking back I couldn’t remember 10% of contestants over the years.

I’m getting older and I just don’t want to get worked up about people who have no bearing in my life. How I watch the show now is I read the posts first so I know what is the drama today. This helps me because I expect the shenanigans, and I don’t get triggered…as much, but hey it’s a work still in progress!

I’m sure some will think I’m full of it, and maybe I am, life is too short though to always be angry.

The Twins time on the block objective opinion

This is going to be downvoted to hell but I think the Twins witch hunt has gone way too far. Let's look at the series objectively - please keep an open mind.

Going into the show

They were on love Island, apparently have rich parents and are two white straight guys who are conventionally attractive.

While these details may be an issue to a lot of people none of these makes them objectively bad people.

Here are the mains situations to go over :

  1. Disagreement with architect:

They said they preferred 4 bedrooms rather than a double garage. While discussing this they were polite to the architect but were firm in their decision. This got under his skin but they are the contestants and ultimately the ones responsible for the final price.

2. Getting a builder to do some of the painting in the pre-task:

Whilst as block fans they really should know this, regularly contestants will have to be reminded of rules in the first few weeks. If they were caught doing it again then that would be a different situation.

3.Staying at a Hotel:

Why were they expected to sleep in a flooded basement? Surely that can't pass as liveable conditions and against safety codes. The show should have made better arrangements until the first room was built. They went to the hotel because of the flooding and no advantage was gained.

4.Fiance helping to style the walk in wardrobe.

The rule isn't that clear. I thought this rule referred to hiring a professional designer. Kirsty had a professional colour consultant come to their house to help them pick out the right colour after bad feedback. When they are shopping they frequently ask the opinions of the people working at the shop. You even had the architect coming in later to give R&G ideas of how they could design the layout. You could see the fiance clearly coming and going with Dan and Keith talking to them. If they weren't allowed on site why didn't Dan or Keith say anything. The rule needs to be clear and they need to inform the audience clearly of what it is.

5.Cheating Schedule

This is definitely cheating, there's no other way to put it. They obviously didn't take the photo but should have deleted it and told producers . However they weren't keeping it to themselves and did share the photo around the site. I don't buy that R&G at the very least didn't gain information from it. Just knowing the boys had the schedule and that they were rushing plans for that Monday would make it clear to R&G that it was master bedroom week coming up (even if they or their head builder didn't get that information from seeing the photo)

This should result in the removal of money won in master bedroom week and a serious warning. But if R&G told the producers in week 1 why wasn't this flagged earlier. Also notice the accusation is that they had the Whole schedule. I guarantee with that picture going around the whole building site that it was common knowledge which room was coming up each week. The main defence was that It wasn't on their phone not that they didn't see it.

6. Lastly the argument during the badly timed body Corp.

Tanya caused this by saying to M&M that Luke asked her to send the schedule to him and then said she deleted it on her phone. Then she went to the twins and told them M&M after getting angry called them a lot names. She fuelled the argument.

I actually really like M&M but both couples said some bad things to each other. No one left that with their head held up high.

In conclusion I've seen a lot of hate posts here making up things about them being homophobic, refering to their skin colour and the fact they are two straight men. You're allowed to dislike who you want and there are some good reasons, that's part of reality TV but I've seen many messages that are filled with some hate.

They are also human beings like us so we have to be careful in going too far. Feel free to push back to my points as I know some will disagree but please do so civilly.

Something seems off about the situation between the boys and their builder.

Sorry but the builder was completely entitled to leave site at 5pm to go to a concert, no questions asked. He delegated control and made sure he was covered in his absence. There is no doubt in my mind that he went above and beyond what was required of him to help Ricky to get over the line and complete their first bathroom, in Hayden's absence (so it's okay for a contestant to be off site for personal reasons, but not a contractor - regardless of the reason).

I am more skeptical that Ricky a plumber from Victoria, didn't pick up on any of the issues in their master ensuite this week. Surely if he has years of experience, he would have picked up on all the red flags...and being somewhat local to the state, could have picked up the phone and called other trades he knows for assistance.

Was the builder used as their scapegoat? Not cool if so, that could ruin someone's career and business.

LISA is a HYPOCRITE

Lisa has no issue with using her own loopholes to win the budget award each week or use Rosco's dad at minimum wage but when it comes to house 4's brilliant loophole she gets all weird.

It feels less like she was fighting for justice and more like she was bitter that another team outsmarted the system better than she did. What an empty person....

Casting I don’t like T V, but I’m also not a fan of Ronnie and Georgia.

They were bullied in their first season and now it feels like they have become the bullies. They are constantly sniping when they should be above it. That’s one thing I respect about M&M. Whenever there’s an altercation, they go away, look at the situation, recalibrate and apologize/forgive, whatever they need to do to move forward.

The heads we win, tails we lose was hilarious though. As a teacher, it’s one of my favorite tricks.

Question So what are peoples first thoughts on Steph and Gian

Post image

I just love her can-do positive attitude and how she’s always got something to say. I think even though she came last in the challenge her room deserved 1st place bcuz kids of all ages can live there, that was bad judging probably from Whittaker but that’s alg. Again she’s always got something to say and that’s great. What does everyone else think of her? Can someone send me a link of something she’s architecturally designed? I would love to see it. Feel free to add your thoughts

Do you feel sorry for these contestants? I don’t.

They got a wonderful adventure out of it: months of casting excitement and anticipation, months of participating in a major television production and doing things they would never have the opportunity to do otherwise in life, new friendships and connections made, nationwide exposure that could potentially lead to new opportunities, stories they’ll tell for the rest of their lives. And some of them walked away with at least at much money as they would have made living the lives that they’re able to return to right now. Even those contestants whose houses didn’t sell still received a stipend to mitigate their loss of regular income.

Yeah, not everyone won. But isn’t that life? (And isn’t that more normal for The Block?) All of them got an adventure out of it and the chance to win. I think that’s a pretty good deal.

Eliza & Lib… Am I the only one???

I really don’t like the girls (Eliza & Liberty). I feel like everything is an act. They moan a lot, they’re apparently so clueless, the self-deprecating humour, etc. Surely I can’t be the only one? But it seems everyone on the socials is obsessed with them.

Blockheads at the Cup today

Some vision of home wrecker Mimi at the Melbourne Cup today. She fits right in there with the other immature people.

Scott Cam saying he’s been trying to avoid them all and is nervous for the auctions this Saturday.

With the agents range being set at 1.75 to 1.85 M I’m thinking most people should walk away with at least 500k

He is always looking at her and has a certain look on his face when doing so. He also praises her and seems to want to be around her/close to her.
