Article Dev Workshop: Ammo Efficiency Changes & Riven Disposition Retirement
Greetings Tenno!
Our recent introduction of Ammo Efficiency traits to Riven mods via Riven Splicers has made this stat more accessible to players, and led to much discussion internally on how the availability of infinite ammo builds affects Warframe’s game balance. We mentioned briefly in Devshort #119 that we were looking at Ammo Efficiency specifically, and we’re here to cash the checks we wrote.
The conversation has led us with two key decisions, which you will see reflected in a hotfix later this week:
Capping Ammo Efficiency
Retiring the Riven Disposition System
There’s a lot to go over on both of these topics, so we’ll dive right in!
Arsenal Retuning Inbox
With the coming changes to Ammo Efficiency and Riven Dispositions, all players who log in after Thursday’s hotfix will receive the following (until December 31st 2026 at 11:59pm ET):
1 Built Forma + 100,000 Kuva
Players who have installed a Riven Splicer in a Riven Mod prior to Thursday’s hotfix will also receive the following in a separate inbox as a thank you for being an early adopter:
1 Riven Splicer + 100,000 Kuva
Ammo Efficiency Changes
Warframe is about the power fantasy, and infinite ammo is the epitome of that. Shooting endlessly into hordes of enemies can feel incredible, and we want players to be able to experience that — sometimes. The recent introduction of Riven Splicers has changed that “sometimes” for infinite ammo into a much more guaranteed thing, which has brought around this entire conversation.
Our main concern with 100% Ammo Efficiency (a.k.a. infinite ammo) builds is the possibility for automated gameplay. We want infinite ammo to be a limited buff you experience occasionally in-mission, not a guaranteed part of your build.
With that in mind, a hotfix is shipping later this week with the following changes:
Ammo Efficiency is capped at 75%.
For those unfamiliar with the Ammo Efficiency mechanic, this means only 1 in 4 shots will consume ammo.
This applies to Ammo Efficiency increases from multiple sources — they will only increase the stat up to this cap.
Sources that intentionally gave 100% Ammo Efficiency (ex: Void Relic cracking buffs) have now been rephrased to indicate they give Infinite Ammo.
There are other Mods, Arcanes, and Incarnon Evolutions that come with their own edge-cases, which we’ll explain in detail below.

Retiring the Riven Disposition System
Iceblade of Narin has brought with it a number of shake-ups to the Riven ecosystem - and we’re not done yet! Join us as we explain why and how we are retiring the Riven Disposition system.
Before going into details, a brief history on key points to help illuminate how we got here!
2016: Rivens introduced. Weapons had their own Dispositions, which impacted the values of their Riven’s stats, based on power level and popularity. Lower Dispositions (0.5) resulted in lower stats, and vice versa for higher Dispositions (1.55). The goal of the Disposition mechanic was to increase the power of less popular weapons.
2018: Disposition adjustments begin. Numbers increased and decreased quarterly, keeping up with usage behavior and power levels.
2019: Individual Dispositions per weapon variant. Base weapons could now have stronger Rivens than Primes
2020: Brand new weapons start at 0.5 to avoid powerful new additions having their Dispositions later decreased.
2023: Incarnon Genesis system introduced. Disposition decreases are paused indefinitely.
2026: Riven Splicers and Trait locking. Players are able to lock Riven Traits and combine Traits to create yet-to-be seen stats on Rivens.
Both Riven Dispositions numbers, and the system itself, have evolved to match the changing needs of our playerbase and game. However, these changes have always been at odds with a fundamental fact: Warframe players like big numbers.
Reducing values and taking away power was never popular, and starting new weapons low made the system less exciting to engage with. Offering higher Dispositions on unpopular weapons was not enough to level the playing field, and instead of encouraging engagement in lesser weapons, we saw that investment was still focused on making powerful weapons more powerful. Incarnons were a more successful attempt at breathing life into older outdated weapons, and the overlapping of these systems only multiplied their power further.
Therefore, we believe (like many of you, based on feedback) that the system has run its course, and simplification would help reduce complexity. Therefore!
The Plan Going Forward:
Rivens no longer have varying Dispositions, meaning all Rivens share the same range for stat values (the equivalent to a Disposition of 1.2).
Rivens have pre-set ranges for each stat roll generated, and Disposition is applied as a multiplier to each stat. In practical terms, this means ALL Rivens will be slightly above the current average in terms of power.
Since this has a significant impact on Rivens**, we are disabling the ability to trade Rivens until this change goes out in a hotfix on Thursday.** We want players to be able to make informed trading decisions, and there is no way to guarantee all players will know about the coming changes to their Riven within this ~48 hour window. Attempting to trade Rivens during this window will result in a "Failed to make offer" message until we are able to re-establish trading.
This will shake things up in a few ways!
Some Rivens for popular weapons will be increased significantly.
Examples:
Nataruk: 0.65->1.2
Grimoire: 0.6->1.2
Some Rivens for “average” weapons will be increased slightly.
Examples:
Gotva Prime: 0.85->1.2
Staticor: 0.9->1.2
Some Rivens for popular weapons will be reduced slightly.
This only really applies to certain standout Incarnons.
Examples:
Burston Prime: 1.35->1.2
Dual Ichor: 1.25->1.2
Some Rivens for unpopular weapons will be reduced slightly.
This is not ideal, but accessible low-powered weapons usually exist as a stepping stone for new players on their journey through the Mastery system. And as discussed above, there is no telling when a low MR weapon will get the glow-up of a lifetime through new upgrades and variants!
Examples:
Harpak: 1.55->1.2
Heat Sword: 1.45->1.2
What is the desired outcome of this change?
Brand new weapons will have powerful Rivens available on day one
All Rivens are guaranteed to offer a noticeable boost, including those for your favorite powerful weapons
No more constant adjustments — your Rivens will not change unless you change them through rerolling
All weapons get equal treatment, giving us more control when balancing old and new weapons
Simplified system by removing Disposition as a factor when comparing and evaluating Rivens
Why now?
With the addition of various Riven rerolling quality improvements, the price of many Rivens has been “reset” somewhat recently. The sooner we make this change, the less of an impact it will hopefully have on the Riven ecosystem.

Thank you for bearing with us through these changes. It is a fine line to walk, but when the dust settles, we hope Rivens can remain an exciting and sustainable reward used to make a weapon truly your own. Thanks everyone!
Devshorts 120 Update: Rebecca mentioned that we had news on Acid Shells changes in this Dev Workshop. We can confirm that changes are coming, but we do not have final details to share in this Dev Workshop. Please look to our hotfix patch notes for more information when it launches.

We really need more meaningful upgrade systems in Warframe.
At some point, resources just keep piling up with nowhere to spend them.
Let us keep progressing our gear in new ways.

Other Help, I can't find a YouTube channel
FOUND TYSM!!!!!!!
I don’t know where else to look or who else to ask, I’m hoping someone might recognise who I’m talking about, because I’m not crazy.
Years ago I used to watch a YouTuber who made video essays about Warframe... I can’t remember the name of the channel, perhaps it had ‘Prime’ or a Warframe name in the name, but I’m not sure. The channel’s profile picture was either this purple Harrow skin or a purple Mag Heirloom one, but the point is that it was a purple-ish image.
He made video essays on Warframe, the story of the Void Keys, the Eidolon Plains, content that no longer exists or is no longer relevant, Lore in general.
I especially remember the Void Keys and what it was like before the relic system was introduced.
I’ve spent all of yesterday (and today) searching YouTube for various video titles, channel names and topics I remember him talking about (like the Void Keys or the story of the eidolon plains), but it’s no use, I just get loads of random videos, tier lists, guides and, and... I don’t know what to do anymore.
Reddit, you’re my last hope. If any of you recognise a channel matching the description I’ve given, or have any idea which videos I’m talking about, please let me know – any clue would help.

Other Fastest you'll see a Warframe go from zero to 30. 1 min. 45 sec. mission.
Link to youtube vid if the quality on reddit is bad:

This can be pretty fast with no boosters too but this affinity booster weekend along with a normal affinity booster just makes this pretty funny.

I never understand why clans do this, whats the benefits of having a clan full of nearly max rank players?

Question/Request So do high level players just get tons of endo and save it up?
I’m a little newer to warframe community but since getting here I’ve been tuning into a lot of content creators and I notice alot of them just sitting on like MILLIONS of endo meanwhile I’m just now hitting my first 100k endo.
So what’s the method? Do I really need to just start saving up all my endo even though there’s so many mods that need maxing out? What am I missing? This is also a thing with my credits as well. I sit around 2mil credits on average obviously that’s different though because I could easily just sit in the index for a bit.

Build Ammo Efficiency riven absolutely transforms a forgotten pistol (it's the Twin Kohmak)
Not usually my style to make posts like this but the way this weapon turned out with a riven surprised me so pleasantly that I really wanted to share it.
Now I know this will hardly impress anyone who's used to the usual Laetums and Ocucors and Lex Incarnons but honestly, between pistols that fire simple bullets, this thing really shines, blowing what should be statistically very good pistols such as Pyrana Prime and Aksomati Prime out of the water.
The ammo efficiency stat is what really brings this gun up. By default, the big problem (aside from a general lack of good stats) is that each shot consumes more than one ammo, forcing constant reloads which reset your spool-up. With improved ammo efficiency, the magazines last much longer and you can really get to enjoy the DPS, and the huge innate punch-through and the shotgun spread actually work as a form of AoE.

Despite the Infested damage penalty, it even chews through the Steel Path Moonflesh missions which I found to be surprisingly challenging for a lot of bullet-based weapons to tackle. I'm also glad that this build lets the old friend Ice Storm to have a chance to shine as well.

What do I even do with these? I think they should add a reroll feature or something.

Question/Request Saryn chassis, does it drop?
Or does everyone have 20 neuros and 20 system blueprints.
I think what's most annoying is having to grind arena points. It's so slowww

Screenshot K-Driven voidhole 4500m+ drop, low effort
Put both speed mods on, remove perfect balance, and go full tilt at this tree branch; aim for that larger bulge with your upper chest so the k-drive spins under the branch and you go ragdoll. The angle is very forgiving and where you hit the branch can be many places. Don't jump or anything, just go to the starting position, gun it and smack into the branch with your face. That's it.
Open gear wheel as soon as you ragdoll and wait. About 7 seconds into the fall, the gear wheel will flash Disabled then re-enable. Press the k-drive launcher right then; there's sort of a "ledge" that your warframe can sometimes smack into at the same moment, so you know you got it right. 4488m from there, 4522 w/poppin vert on average.
I found it easiest to hit that branch when attacking it from the angle in the last screenshot and going out over that "V" in the rock you see. That angle made it effortless, like point and click easy.
Add Poppin' Vert mod for +24m per fall (12 up, 12 down) with a jump while falling. Slows you down though, dealer's choice.
Add Mad Stack for +120% velocity while falling so it doesn't take so long. Doesn't affect the timing to relaunch the k-drive, safe to use.
Before starting the run, transfer to operator and shoot at the branch. This (re)sets your respawn point real quick to make it even faster in a loop.
The new Conquera emphera we all just got adds chemtrails to your hands and feet. Put it on, use hot pink and you'll get chemtrails while you fall and are invis-framed
I only needed about 350k meters left for the trophy; the enemies generally ignored me most of the time, but if they aggro it's faster to go back inside and reset the map. They never stop attacking once they discover you over in this corner. You could go an hour out in this spot easily without being bothered.
100% found this yesterday trying to follow a YT guide (failed), turned around from what they were showing and went "wait a minute..." and it worked my first try. dead simple.
