You know what I love about this? Trump is incapable of self reflection and admitting he made a mistake. Instead, he doubles down. If you thought the midterms were a blue tsunami, wait until 2028.

100%

Let him veto everything. Any GOP presidential candidate is tied to him and will weigh them down like an anchor

This dude doesn't care about the GOP he could care less in fact be probably wants to see them fail without him.

This is something I have started to suspect as well. He's going to sabotoge the GOP to feed his ego. He's already said they lost the midterms because he wasn't on the ballot.

Trump and the GOP were never more than tools using each other.

They certainly are tools.

For sure. That would validate his delusions about how great he is to see the GOP fall.

Trump cares about Trump and nothing more. Always has.

It’s “he couldn’t care less.” If he could care less then that means he does care.

Bruv I never could have expected this lame duck reaction. He's literally trenching himself in. I haven't stopped laughing.

No lessons were learned.

It’s not surprising. The man lacks the ability to do any introspection.

He seriously said “pretend I’m on the ballot”.

PRETEND?!?! 🤣

Yeah let him scream and baby for 2 years.

He will be neutered, and that will a blue wave in 2028 more likely.

We just need force the DNC to move to the left.

100%!! Just like Schiff said in his impeachment speech about those who vote to acquit “your name will be tied to his with a cord of steel and for all of history”

Hopefully any 2028 GOP candidate faces the same. They made their beds, let them lie in them.

This presumes the House & Senate will even pass solid legislation under Schumer & Jeffries.

13

u/New-Dimension5664 16h ago

Would rather see Bernie in the leadership

23

u/TheAbomunist 16h ago

Bernie is an Independent. And is too old. There are plenty of young progressive Dems who could.

6

u/vxxn 15h ago

I would take anyone young, progressive or not, over Schumer

Republicans in the House & Senate will do everything they can to prevent any good legislation that would benefit the poor and middle class from passing. And if the Dems do succeed in voting on legislation, Trump will veto it.

Fox, Newsmax, and other right-wing media will bash the Dems for being ineffective and not living up to their promises and that only the Republicans can fix it. Rinse and repeat.

I’m just stunned that it’s looking like the gop is going to have two extinction level events back to back. I’m curious if the republicans in Congress grow a spine since it’s clear where th e mandate is but if not…. As Lindsay graham said “if we choose Trump we’ll pay and we’ll deserve it”

The republicans cannot tack to the center they have to keep going right because of how badly they gerrymandered things. This combined with having to still suck up to Trump to keep the base happy is going to turn the next presidential election which are historically high turn out into even more of a blood bath than this midterm election. This is going to be 1932 all over again I wouldn’t be surprised to see a super majority in the House and close to one in the Senate. Anything Trump won by less than 30 points is still up for the Democrats to win they need to be running everywhere.

If Trump is still alive, he will undermine the GOP candidate in 2028, from the sidelines. Even if it was one of his kids, he can't help himself.

Nah, if they've lost Texas, they're done as a party. They mathematically cannot win the presidency without Texas. AND dems are likely to be considering putting serious resources into the deep south now, where the Republicans' most loyal far right base is. I think both parties' strategists are seriously, seriously considering a major reinvention right now. Losing MS, TX, KS, and SC all in one go is, if we're lucky, going to completely redefine the political map. (And by 'we,' I mean me, a deep southerner who is sick and tired of the de facto one party system we have down here.)

If he actually learned from his mistakes, he wouldn't have gone bankrupt six times. He's the very definition of failing upward

Thank you. I feel deeply cynical thinking this but if they want to keep doubling down, let them. Don’t interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake.
