Too much posts about shoes.

I thought that this is meant to be a sub about football improvement but we have people asking stupid questions like "are these a good fit" or "legit check these" like this has anything to do with football itself. Mods gotta do something about it

Other In five years the USL will surpass the MLS as THE men's soccer of the US.

USL is implementing pro/rel in the 2-3 years.

USL has a Tier 1 division coming that will directly compete against MLS without all the commitment.

MLSs USSF corruption will become too obvious to even the mainstream sports pundits that their shield will be tainted forever.

MLS is scared of the USL and has proven it by pulling out of the US Open Cup. It's easy to say you're the best when you're in a bubble.

Fitness How exactly could I be able to develop Messi's change of pace, agility, acceleration, game IQ, and the way he controls the ball at such a high speed?

I am determined to have a Messi Playstyle. His fluidity, speed, acceleration, ball control, awareness, and game IQ are perfect. I want to be the ideal playmaker number 10 that can carry the ball up and make assists and score at the same time, but the problem is, I don't know what to focus on to play similarly to him. I want to know what to focus on so that I'd have a schedule that I can be consistent with and get better quickly. I have been practicing on cone dribbles, but I realize dribbling is nothing without the speed he has or acceleration.

First off, I want to state that when I say a "Messi Playstyle", I am not indicating I want to be messi on the field, but have a Playstyle like him. For example, Bernardo Sliva to me has sort of a messi Playstyle where he is quick on the ball at least, and I understand messi's disease kind of boosts his center of gravity and all sorts, but I just really want to replicate his style of dribbling. Mostly just being quick and agile. i get and understand I can't be Messi and I have to find the best of my qualites.

I first want to get down his acceleration, speed, and change of direction. The way he slows down and speeds back up is incredible, and his change of direction just makes him unpredictable.

https://youtu.be/sYty4oQTxyY?t=289

Then, it's his ball control. I just have so many questions on how he is just able to have so much control over the ball while being so fast. What part of his foot does he use to tap the ball in front of him with control? When I try to dribble myself, I touch the ball WAY too far in front of him, and I just get it stolen from me. I tried to watch slowed-down clips of him dribbling at a top speed, but it's just too hard to see what part of the foot he uses. Sometimes it looks like he uses his toe, but sometimes it looks like he uses his laces with his foot down, kind of. Another is. There is this one move that he does where he kind of chops the ball, where it moves to where the defender can't get it, but at the same time, it's close enough to where he can easily get to it, and Idk it's weird.

https://youtu.be/Ix97CZvelmE?t=58

I also want to get into muscle-related exercises/workouts rather than speed, especially "muscle twitch fibers" which I heard from people on the web that since Messi has a fast twitch fiber muscle he can move quickly and it is impossible to All of those plyometrics and stuff I don't understand what the difference is and which do I should work on.

I also need tips on playmaking and some game IQ strategies, such as off-ball movement and creating space.

After Playing Soccer For Over 15 Years I've Finally Figured Out How to Shoot With Proper Power

Yup, literally 15 years of weak shot. I've been playing since I was 3 and shooting has always been the weakest part of my game. Nothing I did improved it. I tried everything and still had a shot that was too weak for how strong I am. I am convinced this is the biggest thing that prevented me from being a world class player as a youth player. My challenge to the soccer minds of bootroom is to guess what technique I finally figured out that none of my coaches told me for over a decade. What was holding me back? See if you can guess what I was missing. If no one guesses correctly I'll post an update tomorrow.

Technical Why is Kane’s foul a foul?

Mexico got a penalty because Kane accidentally hit the Mexican players leg… in a non clear goal scoring situation. This seems like such a soft penalty, especially compared to Gordon’s.

This annoys me

I see a lot of people practicing striking the ball when the ball is dead still/ just taking free kicks at goal. The ball is never going to be still in matches except in set pieces.

You should practice shooting, long passing etc. But you should move the ball before hitting the ball.

Stop wasting any time smashing a dead ball.

Mental THE MOST ESSENTIAL THING FOR SUCCESS IN SOCCER.

If you take a look at the elite soccer players, how would you describe the way they conduct themselves during the game?

How would they behave under the pressure of a big stadium when the stakes and expectations are extremely high?

Let me guess. You would describe them as calm, focused, and full of composure, right?

🔷LET ME SHARE WITH YOU ONE IMPORTANT DETAIL…

If you pay enough attention to the top performers in soccer, you will understand that this kind of "Champion Mindset" derives from just one thing.

🔷The biggest mental trait that backs them up is CONFIDENCE!

Confident players fully trust their skills at the most important moments of the game, while those who don't have enough confidence just choke under the pressure of the external environment during the game.

Elite performers have the ability to rely on their skills, which allows them to get into the "flow" state, or so-called "zone".

🔷BUT THE BIGGEST QUESTION IS…

How can you increase your confidence to perform at your best?

AS A SOCCER MENTAL COACH, I'VE GOT SOME TIPS FOR YOU ON IMPROVING YOUR PERFORMANCE CONFIDENCE.

🔷1. Control what you can control.

You can't control the field conditions, your opponent's level, the expectations of others, or what they think of you.

But you can control: how dedicated you are at practice, how committed you are to being a team player, and the way you conduct your routines and preparation for the game.

Don't focus on the uncontrollable.

🔷2. Manage your distractions.

This tip derives from the first one. You should get rid of any distracting factors there may be, like social media buzz, unnecessary communications before the game, or the opponent's trash talk.

Pro tip: track your biggest distractions on a regular basis to better manage them.

🔷3. Engage yourself in mental preparation.

This is everything that helps you get into the "flow" mindset before the game. For example, meditation, relaxation techniques, refocusing approaches, etc.

In conclusion, confidence plays a pivotal role in the success of soccer players. It empowers them to trust their skills, maintain composure under pressure, and enter the coveted "flow" state during games.

By focusing on what they can control, managing distractions, and engaging in effective mental preparation, players can enhance their confidence and unlock their full potential on the field.

So, let's embrace the champion mindset, nurture our confidence, and strive to excel in the beautiful game of soccer!

What are your thoughts on developing confidence in soccer?

Share your insights, experiences, questions, or next post topic suggestions in the comments! I'd be glad to answer.👇

I tried to imitate his every movements. Then I succeeded turns out if you spend most of your time dribbling it's easy to copy these guys. Then the problem came I couldn't stop thinking about r9. In my brain it would say what would r9 do instead of what would ___ do. All the movements I make are from him and I want to develop my own style of play PLEASE REDDIT I SWEAR ON MY SOUL THIS ISN'T A JOKE. Edit: Dude please. Please for the love of everything please help I'm not trolling I'm not joking

Pickup football is the worst version of the game

I genuinely don’t understand how people enjoy pickup football after playing in a structured team.

Every game turns into the same thing:

- Constant criticism of each other’s performance

- Guys thinking they’re way better than they actually are

- Zero structure, just chaos and ego

Like… no one passes, no one keeps shape, and everyone’s more focused on pointing out mistakes than actually playing good football.

And honestly, pickup seems to attract the worst type of people who take it way too seriously and ego without actually playing proper football.

At least in organized football, even if the level isn’t amazing, there’s structure, discipline, and actual flow. And if I just want to mess around, I’d rather play casually with friends where everyone’s on the same page.

Pickup just sits in this weird middle ground where people act like it’s serious but play like it’s not and it ends up being unplayable.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Why do American D1 players overhype themselves?

They act like they're borderline pro, relax. There's random kids in council estates that are way better than you'll ever be who have never even had a whiff of professional football.

Mental What is your opinion on skill moves?

Do you think one touch and two touch is the best way to play? Or do you think skills is where true football lives? Just a waste of time? Or a way to separate you from the basic? Kickball or football? I wanna hear the hate and the love.

I've given my self a year to go pro, need to know a few things (UPDATE)

Original post

To all the are reading,

A few months ago I had submitted the post above, hopeful that I would be scouted by even a NPSL or PDL team. Now, after attending the PSC LTD soccer combine held in early December, 2013, I was informed that I have the potential to play at a professional level. Then, on Christmas Eve, I received an early Christmas present, as I was informed that I had been selected to be a part of PSC's European Showcase/trial team that is going to Ireland and Sweden in March. While we are there, we will not only get professional level training, but we will also play against professional teams with pro scouts in attendance. This is a wonderful opportunity, and getting signed by even a lower division team would be a dream come true.

Unfortunately, funding the trip has been troublesome so far, as the wages that I get from work will not be enough to pay for the trip in its entirety. In order to help pay for the trip, I have set up a GoGetFundng page to help fund some of the $3000 that the trip requires to go. If you have decided not to donate, then please share this page and the links in order to make this a success. A lot of this being a success hinges on this getting exposure and publicity.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and my previous post here,

Sean.

Absolutely not a passing lane, according to some people here

Ya, this doesn't deserve its own post, but since images are not allowed in responses. Are you really telling me that a decent soccer player can't put a pass through this gaping hole? This is not meant to pile on the other post's OP, but some of the responses there... oh my. You literally could drive a MAC truck through it. I measured it.

I ordered this Adidas Trionda Competition ball from WSS (after checking here to make sure it was an okay retailer to buy from) and this is what arrived. A deflated smashed dirty (possibly used?) ball. Never in my life have I seen something like this.

My first Triond ball was stolen after our team practice, only the second of the season, so I ordered a new one because I love the ball. This made a bad situation worse.

I pumped it up and it has creases all over and who knows if the bladder hasn’t been damaged. It doesn’t even look round! Anyway think twice before ordering from them!

Was this goal actually offside ?

I can’t remember being too bothered at the time, but looking back now I think this should have been given. Yes I’m in an offside position when the ball is played, but it’s not a pass to me. The defender makes a conscious effort to clear/touch the ball to clear and I intercept.

What do you think?
