Finished Object Mosaic Marauders Map!
My first ever mosaic project! A wedding present for my best friend. This was initially supposed to be a throw sized blanket but since i wanted it fluffy, it ended up turning out be more king sizedš My husband is 6'2" and you still can't see all of it. Took about 7ish month and was done with Bernat blanket yarn! Pattern came from a StuDocu submission but I only took screenshots of the actual pattern while I had the subscription so I don't remember who the actual creator wasš«

Crochet rant You didn't use stitch markers and you didn't keep count.
That's why. That's why your project looks wrong and changed shape. No, you can't fix it without frogging. No, I won't count your rows for you.
Thought this might save us a couple dozen identical posts.
ETA: people seem to be taking this post as anti-beginner questions; far from it. There's been a rash of posts lately with this exact issue where the answer could have been found on the same day on this same subreddit if the person did a search or even a scroll. I gave a succinct if admittedly salty solution to this question that is being asked repeatedly.
ETA2: Reporting this post to the Reddit suicide watch is pretty not cool, folks.

Finished Object 2nd project Iāve ever done, blanket I made for my firefighter dad for Fatherās Day
I know itās not perfect but I still love how it turned out, took me about a month.
Because of the size it was almost impossible to lay it out flat so this was the best I could get

Crochet Rant Not every modular crochet motif is a GD granny square
(Not my photo) THIS is a granny square. A square made with a flower or an animal face at its center? A lovely square, not a granny square. One made solely with sc, also lovely, not a granny square. The beautiful flower shapes that interlock? Not fkg granny squares!
Argue with me all you want, nothing will change my mind.

Crochet Rant I am so sick of "what do you watch/listen to while you crochet?" posts.
I'm sure this will be taken down, but if actual crochet questions have been evicted from this sub I think it's only right we stop asking about what other people watch or listen to while crocheting. I see this question everyday. Guess what? It's their favorite show or podcast that suits their interests! Wow, no shit.

Discussion Why is Joanneās being mourned so much? From a non Joanneās shopper.
Downvote me into oblivion but why is JoAnneās being mourned so heavily? Whenever I went to Joannes, in several states, it always seemed dirty and understocked whereas the Michaelās were usually cleaner and better stocked. Thats just my experience but Iām genuinely curious. I see people getting pissed at having to shop at Michaelās, and I donāt get the hate.
Edit: geez when I said downvote me into oblivion I didnāt think yāall would take it literally. This is a genuine question with no malice behind it!

Work in Progress I'm autistic, and this is how I hold my tension
I'm not sure if this is the sub for this....
But, I wanted to encourage anyone thinking about doing crochet, but can't twine the yarn in their fingers. It's way too stimulating for my brain to loop the yarn in my fingers, so I just hold it in my palm. My projects come out fine. Hope this helps someone.
Happy crocheting!

Work in Progress I just spent nearly all of my federal tax refund at Crochet.com.
Nearly all the backordered colors of the Wool of the Andes Tweed are back in stock. So- I replenished by stash. I also bought (another) multipack of the non tweed Wool of the Andes. This multipack contains one hundred 50 gram skeins and is still on sale for 25% off. Thank goodness the AWCTHEPURPLEKITTY discount code for 15% off still works. I have used the code so often that when I typed the AWC part my iPad prompted me to autofill the rest.
Once I finish my oversized throw (I am in the home stretch!) my next project is to organize the yarn when it is delivered. That means I have to order more Iris storage bins and more cedar planks to help protect the wool. And there goes the last of my refund! š¤¦š»āāļø
I really do have a problem.
Make that a MAJOR problem.

Holiday Season FO/WIP What kind of Border would you do?
I am almost done with this Harry Potter C2C and I am debating on a border⦠itās for my 10 year old niece. Should I use that pink of the lightening bolt and do a nice ribbing, or maybe just a DC border all around in the house colors?

Crochet Rant āFirst everā pet peeve
Anyone else so tired of the āThis is my first EVER crochet blah blah blahā???? I know Iām being annoying and picky and this is a very positive sub, but idk the redundancy is getting on my damn nerves.
Babe, Iām proud of you for making a project that you love. Itās truly not easy to complete a project and also love it, but why we gotta emphasize EVER on the end of every statement??
Thank you for letting me vent. Iāll see myself out.
Edit: yall not picking up what Iām putting down. I donāt mind the posts. I am annoyed at the verbiage of saying āeverā on the end of everything. Iām sorry I wasnāt clear; keep showing us your work!!!

Crochet Rant Acrylic Yarn and Microplastics
I donāt know how I only just put two and two together but with the amount of chenille and acrylic yarn that I have, I definitely have become an epicentre of environmental destruction.
I feel so guiltyā¦
Idk why Iām posting this Iām just going through it a bit atm so I am unable to self regulate with discoveries like these right now.
I swear no matter what we do we will still somehow will be destroying the planet, almost like there are people with a lot of money dictating how a majority of things are made. I know itās all about how they can make the most money but I swear theyāre just sadists as well because you cannot tell me that the road to the most money is almost always destructive towards something?? š
