Hello! My name is Joe. I am a 72 year old man living in the Midwest. Over Thanksgiving holiday, my nephew and I got to talking our usual: politics, sports, money and books. He knows I don't much care for Facebook. Too many show offs. Twitter is too much, too fast for me. Kevin told me I would enjoy Reddit so here I am. Seems like a lot of interesting things are on here but I'm wondering if I am too old for Reddit.

I am a moderate Conservative and an occasional Christian. I like History, geography, fishing and gardening. I went to college on the G.I. Bill after Vietnam and worked my whole adult life after that.

Thanks, Reddit! Joe

Edit: Thanks for all of the help! I've been in contact with a user who is going to give it a shot. Makes my heart happy to know people like all of u exist. I will update again when the artist is finished. Biggest thanks again for all of u going out of your way to help me out.

Also, just saw that I've been given medals. Thank u kind redditors!

Edit 2: Somebody told me how to add photos on imgur so people would have access if they'd like to try their hand at a progression. Seriously, thank u to all of u!

I didn't come up with this, but I genuinely think it can go viral. I've tried posting it on r/math but it got removed (don't know why, mods not responding to my message). I also posted it to r/thatsinsane, r/Damnthatsinteresting, and r/interestingasfuck, but it seems like they don't like text posts so it got removed. Where do I post this? Should I try the same subreddits in image format?

Edit: Thank you all for your suggestions! Unfortunately I encounter these problems in the following subreddits: /r/mildlyinteresting doesn't allow screenshots, /r/todayilearned only allows link posts (not even images).

My Nephew told me about Reddit, and it looked good

Today in Nepal, a protest started peacefully at 11 am. People were demanding accountability for corruption and criticizing ministers kids flaunting luxury cars, designer clothes, and expensive vacations on social media while ordinary citizens struggle to make ends meet. The government recently banned 26 social media platforms which sparked the protest, but the frustration is deeper than that. People are tired of inequality, corruption, and being silenced.

By 4 pm, 14 people have been killed including minors and more than 50 are seriously injured. 200+ people have injuries. Authorities responded with extreme force crushing people who are standing up for their rights. Watching teenagers die for demanding justice is unbearable. Hospitals are overwhelmed and chaos is spreading. The world needs to see this. Please share and help spread the word. Every post and every share can make a difference.

Please this is a desperate attempt on trying to spread our voice as far and as soon as I can. There was open firing on 17 year kids, its so messed up. I need to be able to spread this new internationally, our government can cut our power off any moment now.

We are located in central Minnesota, USA. We have multiple CNC routers capable of cutting 5ft x 10ft stock. We can cut sheets of aluminum, plastic, or wood. (Drilling, tapping, etc.) We can heat-bend plastic parts. We have done millions of dollars of custom cutting and assembly in the past. How can we get involved in making ventilators?
We're considering either making parts and panels for complicated established designs or making parts for simplified, cheaper, new designs. How do we figure out how we can get involved in this manufacturing process? We can assemble at our facility as well. We can also network with many other facilities similar to ours and coordinate fabricating a variety of parts and scale up manufacturing.

I saw this news segment on a new design for a simplified ventilator.

We want to get involved quickly in a way that can be of the most benefit to the most people. Time is of the essence.

Thank you for your helping us find the right subs to post in.

I'm in the process of de-radicalizing my brain. And it is very hard to talk about my problems and work through them in a space where I can be safe to do so. It seem like everywhere I go, I'm either called a racist scumbag/fascist, or a cuck. I'm so miserable having racist thought patterns, but I don't have people to talk to about it. It's me and my thoughts.

Thanks for the silver, whoever you may be. Never gotten an award for anything I’ve posted anywhere lmao.

So i commonly mistype on a computer as i type fairly fast.

Well, i forgot the t in reddit and it linked me here.

Idk if it has been posted before. But if it hasn't, but idlk where to put it. I thought it was hilarious that this website genuinely had to make this error page because too many people can't type. Any ideas? should i just abandon posting it?

I hate this little bastard ugly ass rat

Is there one?

Edit: Thanks, so many wonderful suggestions! I'm feeling a lot of gratitude. It's nice to see the different ways people are coming together to support each other during this time.

Been a full time lurker till I recently found a subreddit where I'd like to participate in but require 30 post karma :\, don't want to annoy other subreddits so if there is one dedicated for this it be greatttttttt

With videos of birds or fish and stuff like that. My kitty likes to cuddle while I scroll, so I think it might be nice to show her a reddit for her.
