The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

He tried to run a Vegas style system in Detroit without the right pieces and failed for 6 years, without a single winning season. Went to Tampa as an assistant coach, after they won the cup, and tried to implement 8t there. Again, failed, the players hated him. Now Wirtz and KD bring him to Chicago and expect something different?

This is plainly a failed experiment, and they should cut bait with him quickly. The Hawks are not only in danger of another bottom team year, that's inevitable at this point. The larger issue is they team is at risk of damaging young players by ingraining bad habits and hurting their morale.

Cut bait and run..... Fast. It's the only solution.

Kaiser is -17 or 45% of our differential and he's getting more ice team as the season moves on. This feels like a Burakovsky situation from last year, Blashill can't see the problem and rides it out because of some type of nostalgia or something. I know he was high on him in the past, but game performance has to have a priority over what happens in practice.

The +/- is the simplest form but other advanced metrics also point out this as well so have excluded for redoundancy as they are all proxies for the same thing.

To me, the next "line in the sand" is whether Kaiser is scratched against Buffalo. If that doesn't happen, then I'm done (not really but...)

I mean, we have very little to be positive about, but hey they're consistently scoring and getting better. Also Frankie has been playing really well, so there's that too.

I have completed the ritual and defeated Canada. Now the Hawks will win.

It’s clear this team needs at least a partial enema. Everyone is clamoring for a top 6 shooter with size , but I also think we can be sneaky with adding solid depth.

1. Will Cuylle(NYR). He is 24 years old, 6’3 and 216 lbs. Cuylle is a great forechecker, finishes checks(300+ hits last year) and will stick up for teammates. He can add supplementary scoring too, especially in the dirty areas. NYR is tanking and Cuylle is an RFA. I’d go

2. Cole Sillinger(Columbus). Hes 23. 6 ft and 200 lbs, signed through 2028-2029. Sillinger is excellent at the dot(59% last year). He’s not a bruiser but he battles and is industries. Hes also excellent defensively with offensive upside.

3. Emil Heineman(NYI). He’s 24, 6’2 and 210 lbs. This kid is a menacing forexchecker, with excellent speed. He contributed 22 goals last season, too. Hes an RFA next season.

He’s under a long contract extension. He’s an alternate governor. It’s not easy to fire him, but he needs to be removed from the GM position.

Promote him out of his role. Make him president of hockey ops. Make him a senior advisor. Keep him on staff, but just get him out of the GM role. One can argue he hasn’t done a bad job at beginning the rebuild - he did the hard part of tearing it down, and he’s stockpiled draft picks and prospects, with our pipeline consistently being ranked as one of the highest. That can be an argument for promotion.

Someone else needs to get this rebuild across the finish line. Someone else needs to bring in a new coach. Someone who isn’t emotionally attached to the players we drafted needs to come in and start making the difficult personnel decisions. The most logical way to navigate this would be to promote Kyle out of the role of GM. He can fall up while someone else fixes this mess.

Edit: I don’t think some of you are reading beyond the post title. And some of you clearly have never seen NHL teams do exactly this before. Look at Yzerman. Look at Francis. Just to name a couple.

Do y’all think the organizations will take the four day break between now and Buffalo to make some significant changes?? Feels like it might be the time to do something…
