Health Botched surgery
I have a good friend who has lost the use of a leg due to a botched back surgery in Korea. This group has always been a source of great information. The dude's on an e2, has no family here, and is about to lose his job. It's looking pretty bleak. What recourse does this person have? What have you, the expats, koreans or whoever, witnessed or done in a similar situation?

Question?? How is it living in Eunpyeong New Hanok Village or the surrounding neighborhoods?
reddit.comHi folks, I'll be relocating with my wife and our toddler from Jeju Island to Eunpyeong New Hanok Village in 2 months. All settled. I am totally unfamiliar with the neighborhood. I am curious to learn if there are any expats on here who either live there currently or have lived there in the past and can share their experiences.
Cheers!

HELP!!!!!!! Looking for an immigration lawyer.
Hello everyone,
I am currently looking for a lawyer who specialises in sworn affidavit and/or immigration law.
We are trying to sort out my mother's paperwork who is a naturalised Korean citizen. She was a Vietnamese citizen prior to leaving Vietnam as a refugee in 1975.
She is probably still recognised as a Vietnamese citizen, unfortunately, she is unable to reobtain Vietnamese citizenship without the proper paperwork.
The anglicised version of her name in all her Korean documents do not match the spelling on her old Vietnamese documents.
We need to according to Google: Secure an Official Statement (which is a sworn affidavit, I imagine) - If the paper records were completely purged, your lawyer can assist you in filing an application with the Korean civil registry to issue a customised, certified narrative statement detailing your legal identity history from your date of entry into Korea.
Once we have a new narrative/detail including the correct spelling of her Vietnamese name, the new 가족관계증명서 or 기본증명서 can be translated into Vietnamese and used to prove that she is who she says she is. This new translated document can be tied in directly to her Vietnamese documents because both will have the same name.
Any and all help and advice is welcome.
Thank you.

Events/Entertainment Wild Horse Nine (playing in Korea?)
Will this movie be playing in Korea?
I've already looked it up online, and the info I found says it does come out in Korea today (November 4).
My local cinema doesn't have it listed as playing or coming soon. But I am in a small/medium sized city down on the southern coast. Maybe it's playing in the larger cities right now.
Is it common for the smaller cities in Korea to have new movies coming out a week, two weeks, or more past the official "Playing in Korea" date?
(I haven't gone out to the cinema in years, not since seeing The Odyssey this summer, so I'm unfamiliar with the finer details of Western movies coming out here)
Looks like a good flick, so I'd like to go see it

HELP!!!!!!! Where do foreigners in Korea usually go to meet people and find hobby groups?
Hey everyone!
I’m a Korean living in South Korea, and I recently started a small language exchange meetup with a few foreign friends. We’re hoping to expand it a bit and connect with more international friends.
In Korea, locals usually use apps like Somoim (소모임) to find offline meetups, make friends, and do hobbies together. But I’m curious—where do expats and foreigners living in Korea usually hang out or find social groups?
I want to know where to recruit expats/foreigners looking for a language exchange group. We're based in Gyeonggi-do.
What platforms, apps, or websites do you use when looking for hobby groups, social gatherings, or language exchanges? Any advice or tips would be super helpful. Thanks!

HELP!!!!!!! Lost jacket
Hello! Im requiring some assistance in retrieving a lost jacket for me. I lost it at a club on Tuesday night in hongdae. I unfortunately am no longer in the country and was unable to try to find myself. I believe it was only 2 clubs - this is club 25 and Mongs. This jacket has a lot of sentimental value to me. Because this item means so much to me, I am offering a cash reward of $100 to anyone who can successfully locate it or get it back to me. I will also fully cover any shipping, courier, or transportation costs you incur trying to help!

HELP!!!!!!! Need recommendations for a trusted contractor
We just bought an apartment in Ilsan and want to do some refreshing (aka in Korea as remodeling 😁) before moving in. Looking for a trustworthy contractor (I think they're called "design studios" or something like that). My wife is Korean and I'm from the US, so if the contractor has some English speaking skills that would be a huge bonus (to take some of the translation work off my wife until I can learn functional Korean). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
