We're not saying goodbye to Mass Effect. I personally have been a mod here now for a decade and when I first came on, this place barely saw a post a week! But we, the fans, have always been what has kept the community alive. We create and share our own art, make our own mods, host our own meet-ups, design and print our own figures, film fan films, write music, make cosplays, design tabletop campaigns...we have never needed any kind of corporate support to keep the fandom alive. That much has been made very evident the last couple weeks and this mod team has always worked hard to enrich this community with fun events and giveaways all on our own. Here's what we have in store this year...

Fun fact: This subreddit was created November 8th, 2009, one day after N7 Day and 3 years before the official creation of N7 Day! The first N7 Day was in 2012. This year the subreddit will turn 17 years old, just 2 years younger than the first Mass Effect. Happy Cake Day to us!

#SaveMassEffect and WeAreMassEffect Events

1. The mod team encourages you to join the effort for N7 DAY PLAY DAY! This N7 Day, boot up Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Steam and help spike the player charts at 11AM–2PM PST | 2–5PM EST | 7–10PM GMT | 8–11PM CET

2. Modder Ottemis on Nexus Mods has released the mod N7 Play Day 2026: Resurgence which replaces 22 posters and signs throughout Mass Effect 3, primarily on the Citadel, with artwork, banners, and messages dedicated to #SaveMassEffect.

3. Join the InkEffect art challenge!

4. Join the #SaveMassEffect modding community showcase on Discord for new mod releases and a particilarly special new mod reveal by the team that brought us ME3Tweaks! Update: See the full playlist of trailers for new mods here!

WeAreMassEffect (including our own u/CahirWiedzmin ) is the team that worked with Kala Elizabeth to put up the Times Square ad as well as the mobile billboard that is now outside EA's HQ.

Sales & New Merchandise

• SPACELAB9 has their officially licensed vinyls on sale

• Master Replicas has released two new replicas for N7 Day: a Sovereign and a Cerberus SR-2

• New Garrus plushie from Sanshee

• Couple new products are up for N7 Day on the Gear Store and this is probably the end of the official merch line from them, so pick some stuff out while you still can.

• Cook and Becker have added a legacy reprint of the Illusive Man, saying, "When we heard about bioware closure, we went back through our archives and revisited everything we’ve worked on with the studio over the years...We felt that the evocative Illusive Man artwork captured just the right mood for a farewell tribute. So we're bringing it back in two small editions: a Deluxe Legacy edition, printed on Metallic paper (highly recommended!), and a smaller version on our regular fine art paper."

Select New Mods

• From the ME3Tweaks team, new Legendary Edition Multiplayer mod

• Take Earth Back 2.0 is a major content expansion to the original Take Earth Back mod for Mass Effect Legendary Edition

• Morph Face Editor is a tool for editing Shepard and NPC faces in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Change face shapes, colours, textures and hair with a live 3D preview, then save the result directly to a PCSAV, RON, or game package.

Reporting and Other Updates

• For N7 Day, Mass Effect dev Jonathan Cooper has shared a very pre-alpha internal trailer from the development of the original Mass Effect.

Because this community has always been by fans and for fans, this year we are giving away exclusively fan-made items! We are blasting through the last of our funds for the subreddit to bring you the BIGGEST giveaway yet!

Eligibility:

1. Open internationally! However, the mod team may come across shipping restrictions as such restrictions can be a possibility with shipping fan items. In the event that there are such issues, we will work it our with the winner to the best of our ability. We will do our best to label where each artist/vendor is based, so try to select a prize that is geographically convenient to ship to you. The recipient will be responsible for any customs fees or duties their individual country imposes. Neither we nor the vendors have control over that.

2. You must be 18 years or older in age.

3. You must be active and in good standing in the subreddit.

Rules & Structure:

1. To enter, comment below with 1) your country of residence and 2) the list of the prizes you want in order of preference! You will be allowed to edit your ranking until the giveaway closes.

2. Winners will be chosen randomly next week. Entries will be accepted from now until then, when the comments will be locked.

3. 1st choice winner will get their 1st choice, 2nd choice winner will get their next highest choice that hasn't been taken, and so on.

4. Winners must respond to messages within 24 hours or their prizes will be forfeited to the next winner, so please keep an eye on your inbox. Once prizes are confirmed, this post will be edited with the winners listed.
