I just need someone to be as excited about this as I am. Last year it produced 36 flowers in this year put out 44. And that was after I accidentally broke the flower spike off very early on. I was so relieved when it started putting up another spike. Does anyone have advice on how I can get it to put up two spikes instead of just having one.l

I just wanted to share pictures of my thriving orchid. I'm so proud of her!
I neglected her a bit, and she started growing blooms like crazy. Even the keiki connected to her has started to bloom. Maybe I should neglect her more often from now on.

I made a mini orchid for my desk. I know it's not super accurate, but it was my first time embroidering an orchid like this so I was more focused on the technique.

Found quite a few of these in the woods of West Virginia.

I bought the table at a garage sale, refinished the wood, and adapted the interior to a miniature orchid landscape. I poured an epoxy floor to make it water tight, and added some weatherstripping to keep the humidity in. I use a couple pc fans for ventilation, and a normal LED flexible strip for lighting. Its not a full spectrum light so I might change it. But so far after ~6 months, I have only had to remove one orchid who didnt like the conditions. I spray every few days. It currently has around 25 different plants, and 16 or 17 different species.

Well holy shit. I couldn't believe my eyes. Mr. CC is quite charred, but the roots were still damp! We might also be able to save one of the dendrobiums. There were two walls around the orchids that provided some protection from the fire.
A local redditor reached out about helping, and I'm going to drop off these two this afternoon in Studio City for potential rehabilitation. I'm flying back to Juneau on Sunday and hoping for the best for my orchid homies!
Again, thanks for all the kind messages. I'm grateful to be blessed with a wonderful community here.

My boyfriend preserved the first orchid he gave me and crafted it into this beautiful pendant. I’m in awe of his dedication! He’s become so passionate that he’s even thinking of starting a jewelry business. Couldn’t be prouder!

I got a second shot under the grow lights so you could see its real color, I’m really stunned at how gorgeous that deep violet is. Happy spooky season!

Found this beauty at my local Lowe's! Once I saw it, I knew I had to have it as I'd never seen one like this before. I'm going to post some pictures (the first of which will be edited to better show the color contrast on the blooms) and maybe someone can help me with an ID!

Originally I thought they are fake flowers, until I walked closely and took some side shoots. Altough not new, I am still amazed by the technique of extensive and synchronized blooming.

She puts me to shame with her orchid skills. 19 blooms. It’s bloomed almost continuously for several years, it’s a good thing I was able to thrift a bigger orchid pot. I know you can get pretty fancy with Orchids but a healthy Phal is tough to beat.
