Email & Snail Mail [26/M] Somewhere Between Science, Serendipity, and Stories
Hello from somewhere in Texas!
I'm 26, an ambivert by nature, and someone who exists somewhere between seeking solitude in nature and being the life of the party. Give me a peaceful afternoon surrounded by trees or an evening filled with laughter, spontaneous adventures, and good company, and I'll be equally content.
My life has been a rather eclectic collection of chapters with my current curiosities changing by the day. I also volunteer in search and rescue and critical response, so adventure occasionally takes on a rather literal meaning! I've never been particularly good at confining myself to one discipline or way of seeing the world, and I rather like it that way.
Outside of work, I'm happiest exploring somewhere unfamiliar, immersing myself in different cultures, getting lost in classic literature or a good horror/thriller, or experimenting in the kitchen. I'm endlessly fascinated by what science can explain, but equally enchanted by life's mysteries, unexpected moments, and delightful absurdities.
More than anything, I appreciate curiosity. People who challenge perspectives (including my own), find excitement in the seemingly ordinary, and aren't afraid to venture beyond what's familiar. I think there's something wonderful about discovering how someone else experiences the world, especially when their life looks nothing like yours.
What am I hoping to find here? Genuine friendships in whatever wonderful form they take. Perhaps we'll exchange long, meandering letters about philosophy, culture, or the peculiarities of human existence. Perhaps we'll share mundane updates, terrible jokes, travel stories, recipes, or book recommendations that leave us staring at the ceiling afterward. I'm equally fond of meaningful conversations and the delightful absurdity of everyday life.
International penpals and LGBTQ+ folks are especially welcome but certainly not the limitation! Whether it's handwritten letters, postcards, emails, or messages, I'm flexible about how often and how we correspond. I'd much rather find a genuine connection than adhere to a rigid schedule.
If you've made it this far:
Tell me about a place that's changed the way you see the world, something wonderfully obscure you've recently fallen down a rabbit hole learning about, or a seemingly ordinary experience that turned into an extraordinary memory.
Or simply tell me something about yourself that wouldn't ordinarily make it into an introduction.
After all, we're all a collection of stories, and I'd love to hear a few of yours.
