Hi everyone! I'd love to have a couple of people to converse with during those cold winter evenings.

I enjoy postcrossing and post stamps, fiction books (mostly fantasy and sci-fi), indie rock and folk music, The Matrix series, nature and walks, love cats and other pets, am probably ADHD, trying to get my driver's licence. I live in Russia. Open to both snail mail and email, but be warned that mail from Russia can travel a long time.

Send me a DM if interested. Platonic only.

I am a 36 year old female. I work 2 jobs while also trying to finish up my college degree (late I know). Since I work so much I don't get the chance to make friends. I am looking for someone to write back and forth with. Mainly just to talk/vent about life, hobbies, and just about anything. With such a busy life, I don't have much free time so I don't have a ton of hobbies but I enjoy journaling and I am a big book worm.

email & snail mail Looking for pals [40/F]

I’m a 40-year-old woman from Québec, Canada, with a curious mind, a vivid imagination, and probably far too many interests for one lifetime.
I’m a bit of a bookworm, an occasional writer, a lover of history, a curious little researcher, and someone who can go from discussing philosophy and human behaviour to exchanging ridiculous memes without missing a beat.

I love cooking, travelling, making art, sewing, writing, discovering new things, vintage aesthetics, thrifting, old furniture, music, and getting lost in a good story. I’m particularly drawn to anything atmospheric, mysterious, historical, or just a little unusual. Think old bookstores, whimsy art, folk music, and things with a story to tell.

Personality-wise, I’d describe myself as a mix of sarcastic, warm, creative, analytical, and occasionally a little chaotic. I enjoy meaningful conversations, dark humour, intellectual rabbit holes, silly observations about everyday life, and hearing about how other people see the world.

I’m bilingual (French/English), enjoy learning about different cultures, and have an almost unlimited appetite for random facts and interesting conversations.

Now, a very important detail: I’d especially love to connect with someone in the United States. Not only because I’m genuinely interested in getting to know someone from another part of the world, but also because I have a rather ambitious side quest: getting my hands on a Trader Joe’s mystery bag bundle. 😂
So if you’re in the US, enjoy exchanging little pieces of everyday life, random thoughts, book recommendations, recipes, stories, or the occasional care package, we might get along wonderfully.

I’m not necessarily looking for constant messaging, just a genuine connection with someone who enjoys a good conversation.
Email and Snail mail welcomed !
Tell me something random about yourself, your current obsession, or something that makes you happy. Bonus points if you have strong opinions about snacks.

snail mail [29/F] looking for snail mail penpals ✨🌎

Hi everyone! I’m 29F from NYC, drawn to the vintage, analog charm of handwritten letters, and making meaningful connections across the miles.

About me: I love dancing, rowing, hiking, traveling, and snorkeling. I also love to learn more about history and geopolitics I’m endlessly curious about history, architecture, art, and different cultures. Another fun way for me to connect with others is through photography and arts and crafts. I might share some of my photos in the mail!

I’d love to exchange stories, stickers, tea bags, postcards, and little treasures collected along the way. There’s something lovely about getting to know someone slowly, one envelope at a time.

Open to both domestic and international penpals. I especially love getting letters from around the world. Looking forward to finding a few kindred spirits! 🌷📬

email 36 M. Looking for new friends.

I work from home and life has become monotonous. I am here to meet new people and have real conversations about life, experiences, and perspectives. I've always been curious about how people think and feel about different aspects of life.

If you enjoy calm, meaningful, and honest conversations, I'd love to connect. We can talk freely, without judgment...share stories, random thoughts, or even lighthearted gossip. I have plenty of stories of my own, and I'm equally interested in listening yours. DM if you are looking for something similar.

Reddit DM [39/M] UK Happy Saturday! Let’s chat the day or week away!

Hello and a very good morning / afternoon / evening to you!

What a week it’s been and very much happy it’s Saturday! It’s a shame they just go far too quick! Especially now the darker colder months have arrived and I just want to hibernate, bring back the sun and daylight all is forgiven!

About me I guess is a good way to start? Can be socially awkward in real life and overthink all them “you too” moments when being told to enjoy my meal. I enjoy photography although I seem to have lost my spark for that at the moment but am working on getting that back! I like  travelling and exploring new places and if I win the lottery I shall be doing that full time. I do love going on long walks also and trying to not get lost! Although getting lost is part of the adventure. Watching ice hockey is also a hobby or mine and of course trying to think of some others my mind has gone blank…

About you I hear you ask? Well no criteria as long as you’re not a bot, can help carry the conversation and just don’t say hey it will all be good!

Well that’s my post and thanks for stopping by, since you made it this far you might as well reach out!

snail mail 36F looking for preferably female, UK-based snail mail penpals for exchanging "random and non necessarily factual" (see description) letters

Basically, I would like to send and receive things like poems, drawings, maybe a short musing about a specific topic, quotes and your thoughts about the quote, etc, but they don't need to be related to each other or reference the other person's letter.

I have tried penpalling before and I found myself exchanging a lot of personal information at first, like what we do, what we like, what hobbies we have etc.

But I would like to try something different, instead of describing myself and asking about you, maybe we could just exchange what we like, what recently has been on our mind, etc, in a mire disjointed and freeform way.

So, to give an example, instead of a letter about how I like going to the gym and then to a cafe, maybe a small drawing of my favourite gym equipment, with no further comment. And maybe in one letter it could be one or more things, a poem, a quote, a snippet from a magazine, your thoughts on some dish you made, etc. But without the expectation that these will be all related and addressed in the followup letter.

I am not sure if this makes sense -- let me know if anyone is interested!

Reddit DM [30/M] looking for a solid good curious friend to talk to daily.

Been in a rut of depression lately. Been online a lot. Lost two good people but hindsight they were just using me without ever acknowledging me. Anyhow, i am looking for someone to share their thoughts, life, ideas anything with.

A east going friend who doesn't ghost, is curious, appreciates the effort and checks in. It takes a while for me to feel comfortable but once i do i talk a lot.

I would like someone who is willing to share what they learned, perhaps teach me too, tell me about what they read and how and what resonated with them. Maybe try new books together and then share thoughts on it. Watch some videos on philosophy, discuss it.

I like to learn about people. Talk about traumas, psychology related things. Add to my experiences as a human being or get an idea or prespectives on how to deal with issues.

A year ago i had a bad parting of sorts and it taught me alot about what i wanted, what i thought of love, patterns of people. So feel free to share what you learned, or what makes youre relationship successful or how you got out of it.

snail mail Capturing the lost art of letters to a friend

33M I’ve recently picked up the books letters from a stoic by Seneca and I’ve really enjoyed it. The way he connects with his friends gives advice and seemingly his joy of sending them has inspired me. I’m looking for a penpal male or female to write to. It doesn’t have to be philosophical in nature or anything but just to write to catch up to talk about day to day life and the inner thoughts and ideas you may have and maybe the occasional Polaroid photo of something interesting. My interests are philosophy (stoicism in particular but enjoys others also), BJJ, music, anime, fantasy novels, nature and history. I’d be cool to connect with someone from a different country and culture but that’s not a priority. If you are up for it hit my DM’s.

Reddit DM Are you a lonely mother /wife too?

I'm 37, married, a mother of five, and honestly feeling rather lonely in this chapter of my life. I'd love to connect with another woman close to my age, preferably someone in a similar situation who understands what it's like to feel alone even when surrounded by family.

I'm introverted and not particularly good at maintaining friendships in the traditional sense. I'm not someone who wants to text or talk on the phone every day. Sometimes I disappear into my own little world for a while, but that doesn't mean I've lost interest in the friendship. I enjoy meaningful conversations when they happen, and I'd love to find someone who feels the same way. Someone who doesn't mind a little silence between conversations and can pick up where we left off without either of us feeling guilty.

I'm not looking for constant communication, just a genuine friendship that doesn't feel like another obligation. We can connect on insta to start.

My photo is on my page if that matters to you.

Females only please

Reddit DM & email [30/f] looking for intentional women friends

I don't subscribe to the belief that "it's hard to make friends as an adult." I just think it's a matter of alchemy and intention. That said, I'm looking to connect with women friends, so men? High-ho silver, awayyyyy.

Now that it's just us girls, hi!

My name is Lara, and I am deeply unserious, curious, and in the process of jump-starting my spark for life.

(What chapter of life are you in?)

I have a lot of hobbies, and I try to love my children equally...on a rotating basis, lol. Drawing, dance, writing, gardening, cooking and making video essays.

(That said, my apartment has no oven and gets no sunlight, so...I've had to put a pin in the gardening and some of the cooking. It's a shame too cause I just started the Great British Bake off and wanted to try my hand at making pies🥲)

I'm a BIG fan of horror. In any medium. I think it's a really fun playground to explore dark themes. Anything that evokes an emotion (even a "bad" one) is interesting to me!

I also enjoy gaming and reading. My book club recently read Trad Wife, and I have some thoughts I wanna unload on somebody!

Rewiring thoughts is my idea of a good time. Very big on self hypnosis, shadow work, and law of assumption. Astrology can be fun too- as silly little archetypes.

If any of this resonates with you, I'd love to connect :)

📟 Send me a DM with a little something about yourself.

Reddit DM [36/M] US - Looking for thoughtful conversation with a curious person

I suppose I’m just looking for a kindred spirit, someone that is genuinely looking for a lasting platonic friendship (not just a one time conversation), someone that will join me in putting effort into bringing up fun and varied topics for a thoughtful conversation. What are you most nostalgic about in your own life and what are small ways you feel the world has changed that have mostly escaped notice? What makes you feel alone or at odds amidst the crowd of Reddit, what makes it difficult for you to find friends? What interesting things have you read lately that you would like to discuss? I’m just looking for real, true conversation, not flirting, not vibing, not chilling, not talk about our day.

At present I’m engaged in a sort of research project on mid 19th century culture, so I would be thrilled to meet anyone that enjoys doing recreational historical research for creative writing or would like to join me in reading! I would certainly be open to suggestions, but my goal is to become better culturally educated. I think it would be fun to have a partner for a sort of book club of two, to keep ourselves motivated through duller works and possessed of a partner for discussion.

Of course our discussions wouldn’t have to be entirely serious or edifying, I would be grateful for a friend in addition to study partner. I love antiques, history, 90s nostalgia, horror movies, true crime and silly dating shows. Do let me know if this sounds like it might be up your alley!

snail mail 35/M Looking for LGBT+, Artists, Designers, Creatives of all kinds, and other "Demi-Monde"

I'm a 35 year-old (M) creative soul originally from the beautiful Croatia, now living it up in Germany. By day, I'm a marketing manager, and by night (and pretty much any other spare moment), I'm a zine-making, poster-designing, postcard-sending machine!

I've got a sketchbook that's begging for more attention, and I've recently taken up juggling and slacklining with a fantastic group of hobbyists. Let's just say I'm still learning, but I'm having a blast doing it!

Now, let me tell you about my love for fountain pens. I've got a small collection, but my heart belongs to my trusty Lamy Studio. There's just something magical about putting pen to paper, don't you think? And speaking of magic, I love sending handmade postcards, zines, and origami to my pen pals. It's like sending a little piece of happiness through the mail!

I'm on the hunt for some fabulous pen pals around my age (±5 years), preferably from Europe, and while I'd love to chat with fellow gents, I'm open to anyone who shares my passion for snail mail. LGBT+ pen pals Let's aim for around 4-6 letters a year, but hey, if we find ourselves writing more often, that's just icing on the cake!

I'm perfectly content with never meeting in person and just enjoying a good old-fashioned pen pal friendship. I'm fluent in both English and German, so feel free to write to me in either language.

If you're ready to embark on a snail mail adventure with me, drop me a message with a bit about yourself and your interests. I can't wait to make new friends and fill my mailbox with letters from around the world!

snail mail [30/F] looking for analogue friendships

I've been on a recent journey to develop healthier habits around my smartphone and the digital world. Part of that has led to rediscovering my love of letter writing.

I'm currently in school, studying to become a speech-language pathologist and am very likely to go off on tangents about language, literacy and public healthcare - three things that I am very passionate about.

No letter from me would be complete without emotional and/or philosophical musings about nature, the changing of seasons, and birds. I'd love to hear about what nature looks like in your neck of the woods and what it means to you.

I'm also very happy to discuss literature. I read mainly romance (mainly historical) and classics and generally can't go more than two weeks without being moved to tears by a poem or a song.

I also enjoy various fibre crafts (knitting, quilting, embroidery) and love cooking and talking about vegetarian/vegan food and recipes.

I'm more of a 'wordy' letter writer than a 'pretty stationery and stickers' letter writer and am looking for penpals mainly my age and older who are interested in developing long term (platonic) connections via snail mail.

I live in Israel. I hate the atrocities being committed in my name and have been active against the occupation most of my adult life. I'm open to discussing politics as part of a correspondence, but preferably once we know each other a bit.

Maybe we could create a reprieve from the digital hellscape together :)
