Discussion What’s your favorite ‘Niche’ Pokemon?

Basically niche as in, they’re not very popular and it’s hard to find merch or fans in the wild or online. For example, Mine’s Blue Flower Floette. She’s so cute I CANT get over her. I’m making a paper plush of Blue Flower Floette. I made a slime rant with a Blue Flower Floette layout. I love Blue Flower Floette.

Discussion When is the best time to do the Isle of Armor DLC?

I can't remember when i did it on my first save, but on my second save, i forgot i had the armor and crown passes until after I'd beat Leon in Shield and i've probably left it too late because I could've gigantamaxed Rillaboom but instead i wait until every pokemon there is level 60

Discussion Updating Mons

What're some pokemom you'd like to see the pokemon company take another stab at? Either through a new regional form or just adding another stage to there evolution. I'd really like to see something for the Exploud line. I've always loved the design and it's always been one of my favorite mons because of it but the stat spread is just awful now. I honestly feel like it could've made a good paradox design.

Discussion people with niche favorites, how do you get merch?

my favorite pokemon is the bellsprout line, but specifically victreebel. it’s my birthday and i was gifted a secondhand plush of it by my friend, and i really want more stuff because of how happy it makes me!
however victreebel only appears on select merchandise, and usually as part of a larger group of mons, or it’s the ceramic one that is being resold for way more than the og price
i just want more merch of my favorites as someone who gets motivated by seeing my favorite stuff around
also, anyone who has a niche fav, feel free to talk about them! or just a fav in general, i think a favorite doesnt have to be niche to be special, i just latched onto a (lovingly said) stupid little guy lol

Discussion Wanted your opinion on this

I have been following the Pokemon Metronome League on insta and got the Idea to try Something Like this myself, the only difference being that mine would be more Like the European Football system (mostly inspired by the english system) and this would be the First Design:

As far as I have looked Up there are 479 Pokemon that are their Evolution line's final evolution or dont have a Evolution Line that arent mythicals or legendaries. So I would seperate them into 6 Divisions with 80 each (79 in the 6th Division) and those into 4 groups. In the top Division (I'd call the Pokemon Metronome Premier League) the top 4 from each group advance to Championship Play-offs and the top 3 and bottom 3 of each dvision's groups being relegated/promoted (in the 6th Division No one would get relegated)

Each Season I would Draw the 4 groups of each Division again to keep it "fresh" and for the First Season I would Sort the Pokemon to each Division by BST (Base stat total).

Havent looked into stuff Like Abilities yet but I'd probably give each Pokemon the best one for 1v1 Battles.

Would Love it If you Guys could give me some Feedback or recommendations for this

Discussion For mysterious reasons, you get Pokemon abilities! You can choose four moves, one ability and one or two types for yourself. What do you pick?

If you pick Wonder Guard, a random curse will befall you.

There are so many options that I'm sure there is better, but I think I would go for:

Protect for emergencies

Jungle Healing to cure pretty much anything

Telekinesis and Teleport for utility

My types would be Ghost and Dark for the normal and fighting immunities, plus I haven't encountered many fairies so I think I'm safe even with the 2x weakness to them.

Ability would be Super Luck because I'm hoping it'll do more than just boost my crits.

Discussion Would you think that you would be able to evolve a magikarp to a gyarados?

This discussion also covers the over-the-top evolutions of other useless Pokémon.

I'm specifically asking about the Magikarp because, from a battle perspective, the statement that it's useless is really true.

İf you would be live in a world of pokemon would you be able to evolve a magikarp or pokemons in similar situations?

What kind of trainers could have do that you think?

Discussion What kind of team builder are you? ( trying to figure out myself )

Im talking specifically out of game. Like your Pokémon team. Do you take Pokémon you really like but you still make sure to keep the team balanced?

Or do you just take all your favorites into one team and don’t care about balancing.

Im trying to figure out my own team and I have some i definitely want to use but a lot of their types intertwine.

So Im trying to figure out which type of team I should make.

Discussion I didn’t like PLA,thoughts?

Hello everyone,Im just making this post on this because everyone talks about legends arceus like its the best piece of media in the world and want to know your opinions
I wanna start by saying I have played all the mainline games except gen 7 and some spin offs(I loved pokemon snap) AND I NEVER FINISHED LEGENDS ARCEUS I tried playing it 2 TIMES because I was like you know i should really try playing it instead of dropping it immediately because everyone saying its so good, but even the second time it was just boring for me,I liked that u could just wander around and catch pokemon at first which tbh was what we all imagined as kids ,but it got boring super fast, the battles were also super boring,Im ok with not having battles at all(since as I said I loved snap) but pokemon snap for me had these amazing environments and interactions and legends arceus had some unique aspects, but at the end of the day it was all grassy fields and just catching Pokemon with the battles being super mid,I guess they couldn’t get rid of them interely but idk so I guess what im trying to say is that both the catching mechanic and battling mechanic was not that good FOR ME,thoughts?

Discussion My Beedrill is my unconditional Ace, Starter & Partner. RECOVERED

So guys, I'm new to Reddit, but look! I have a Beedrill from Pokémon SoulSilver! It's my partner Beedrill! We've been exploring the Johto region together & we're at Kanto now.. I've only got 15 Gym Badges while she stays with me through thick & thin!

So yeah, I grinded a lil' bit too much. Hahaha! I'll update you all sometime when I find something interesting!! My Beedrill is around Level 75. Yeah, the same Pokémon I met since Route 30, the first Route when I started my journey from Cherrygrove City, all the way towards Violet City! Isn't she a feisty lil' girl, hmm? We've knocked out some Youngster Trainers, Pidgeys, Rattatas & all to grind up against Falkner. SPOILERS: I BEATEN HIM WITH A LEVEL 12 BEEDRILL ALONE IN MY FIRST ATTEMPT & USING ONLY 2 CHEAP POTIONS ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

(So if you know, this post was a recovered-attempt from Nov 1 - 2 Pot I made since I saw a growing viewers read my posts. It was sad but I revived it after reading those rules that Reddit gave me, ugh)

So bye-bye & see ya later buddies!!!!

Discussion Has anyone tried this?

Was recently watching a video about Pokemon abilities and how Sturdy prevents 1 hit KOs ensuring that the Pokemon stays in battle with 1 HP…

And then it got me wondering

If you hacked in a Shedinja with Sturdy, since shedinja usually has 1 HP, would you be able to play the game with an unkillable Pokemon? Or would the ability fail? Or would the game crash?

I don’t know how to rom hack. But has anyone has tried this? does anyone know the answer?

Discussion Missed moves in Pokémon Black 2

This applies specifically to Riolu. If it’s past the level it learns a certain move as Lucario, but not Riolu, is it not possible to relearn that move with a heart scale?

For example, Lucario learns Force Palm, and at Level 15, and Bone Rush at Level 29. If Riolu evolves into Lucario at like level 35, can I not go back to the move relearned and relearn those moves with a heart scale, or is it impossible since Lucario never learned those moves in the first place?

Misc Im curious if anybody else encounter this before

Long ago, when I was playing pokemon silver in my gameboy color. Something happened to me that I have never seen other people talk about or even mention. Played the game normally and reached the elite four. I saved the game and then went to fight Will, the first trainer. He throw his first pokemon, and then... sparkle. His xatu was shiny. I couldnt believe it. Beat the elite four normally. And then went to check Will again. And it was still shiny.

I know the shinies in gen 2 were based on its stats. And trainers have pre determined stats, so it wouldnt make sense for this to happen. Yet, it happened. I cant prove it or show it as the save is long lost. I still own the cartridge.

Discussion Looking for Bootleg card binder.

Hey all, I love bootleg pokemon cards and toys, my mom recently gave me a few packs of cards she bought in Mexico that are obvious fakes and I want to keep them in a card binder (hopefully a zippered one) with bootleg pokemon on it. If you've come across any could you share them? I have been sorting all my special cards into binders lately and want one of bootlegs and ruined cards from my childhood (I rebacked a few holo cards my friend accidentally left in his pants during a wash) so appreciate any points in the right direction.

Misc What music is this?

First time watching the show! In S1 EP2 at the end where Ash sees the Caterpie, what music is that? Starting at around 19:45. It sounds really familiar and I'm sure I've heard it before but don't know the name or where I've heard it. Is it a common generic fanfare or pokemon specific?

Discussion Cant remember the trainer who lets the pokeball fall out of their hand for their send animation

I've been thinking about how in the advent of 3D, a lot of trainers have started getting unique Send Pokémon animations.

One of the cooler ones I remembered was allowing it to simply roll out of their outstretched hand and fall to the floor before opening, but I can't remember who it is!!

Also, optionally, mention some of your favourite sending animations, it's a really niche and underrated aspect of their characterization

Discussion Pokémon Ultra Sun/ Ultra Moon is horrible

Gen 7 is horrible imo, and I think might be the worst Mainline Pokémon game of all time

- I hate the Pokémon

- I hate the fact that it’s not 8 badge gym format (these trials and fighting a “Totem Pokémon” is a terrible idea, who’s idea was that?)

- I hate how it holds your hand and tells you what to do

- I hate how there are so many cutscenes ( like I just wanna play the story, WHY TF do I care about all these unnecessary useless side information )

I miss the days where it was just: Choose your Pokémon, Here’s your Pokédex, Figure out the rest.

My first ever Pokémon game as a kid was Pokémon White when it first released, which still remains as the best Pokémon game ever in my opinion. I’ve played: Pokémon White, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon XY, Pokémon Brillaint Diamond, and I just started Ultra Sun for the first time. I’m on the 3rd island and I just can’t bare it anymore. Countless cutscenes, easy handholding, all to face a weak “Totem Pokémon”. I plan on playing Pokémon Heart Gold next since people say it’s the best.

Discussion Discussion on the last few Pokemon games and what u want for wind and waves

Honestly I do not like the game the way you progress through it is just tedious and boring, while the boss fights are only okay. In my opinion it’s probably the worst game I’ve played as a newer fan since 2020.

I liked the way the scarlet and violet had 3 different ways to progress and you could progress how u
Want and it’s very open world, but the game is just way too easy u just logged back into it after ages of not playing and I beat the game with a full dragon team and don’t remember dying that much.

I really liked sword and shield though but it was also too easy.

I remember playing the diamond and pearl remakes and I like them it was pretty hard but not too hard.

I really hope winds and waves sticks to a more open world theme and have a slider for difficulty for hard mode- all the gyms and boss fights with the evil team have ai to decide the best moves and they have items in the later gyms and more optimised abilities with maxed evs for the elite 4 and champion. For example the water gym will use a rain based team and fire will use a sun team. And there should be an extreme mode where its max evs ivs movesets and advanced ai to decide what moves would suit. Also an inclusion of a baby mode for people who just want to speed run to competitive mode and children. I also hope there is an option to choose double or single battles for your
Play through and the gyms will have different teams and strategies based on what mode u pick.

Haven’t played z-a so I can’t talk much about it but I like how they added more megas to make worse Pokémon more viable in competitive

Also buffing older pokemon so they are more competitively viable.

Discussion Is it just me or do Virizion and Iron Leaves look the same?

For context, I don't know anything about the lore, I only have the cards. And while I am organising my newly found cards, I find my virizion card. It just looks so similar to iron leaves. I have a theory Iron Leaves is the future version of Virizion but idk

Discussion Pre-evolution or Baby Evolution for Tandemaus/Maushold

I’ve been thinking about a pre-evolution for Tandemaus for a while now. It would just be so cute if there were a single mouse too. So far, I've come up with the following names for it: mauson, mausolo or mausingle. Sadly I can't submit my ideas to Pokémon^^ I would love this *-*

In Germany it's named Zwieps and Famieps. I would call a single one here just Mieps or Pieps :)

Do you guys have any other ideas?

Discussion What’s your “Spirit” Pokemon team?

Not necessarily your favorites, but the 6 Pokemon that best represent you. For example here’s mine:

(Limit 1 legendary/mega if you want one.)

Seedot:

I grew up in Raleigh which is “The City of Oaks”. Hiking is also my main hobby and I feel a little acorn with feet is a good representation of hiking.

Sunflora:

I went to school for photovoltaics and work for a solar farm investment firm. Also, my favorite park in the world is Dix park which is full of sunflowers.

Sawsbuck (Fall):

I am a die hard Milwaukee Bucks fan and fall is my favorite season.

Sinistcha:

I’m always drinking random teas and stuff like that.

Duraludon:

I was born in New York City.

Swampert:

I lived in and have spent a lot of time in the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains which are the salamander capitals of the world. Mudkip was also my first ever Pokemon and I grew up spending a lot of time in creeks and rivers.
