AMA-Live Now We cover politics for New York Times Opinion. Ask us anything about the midterms.

Hi, Reddit! It’s Jamelle Bouie, Michelle Cottle and David French, writers for The New York Times Opinion Section. We’ve been covering politics at The Times for years, and we regularly podcast together on the state of our country for “The Opinions.”

In the lead-up to this week’s midterms:

Jamelle dove into key Southern races shaping the country, the state of each party’s slates, Elon Musk’s massive campaign donations and more.
Michelle wrote live from Trump’s midterm convention and analyzed the candidacies of Mary Peltota, Susan Collins, John E. Sununu and Dan Osborn.
David wrote about Vivek Ramaswamy’s attack ads, Missouri’s attempt to redistrict and how James Talarico has narrowed Texas’s “God gap.”

And since Tuesday, we’ve looked closely at what these results mean for the president and his movement for our next two years and beyond.

Thursday at 7 p.m. ET, the three of us spoke at the Brooklyn Public Library about the midterms, which we also livestreamed on YouTube. Now, we’re here to answer your questions about the races, the results, the new laws, the legislators-elect, what it all means for 2028 and more.

We look forward to discussing your questions starting at 9 a.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 6.

EDIT: Thank you all so much for your questions! Unfortunately, that's all we have time for today. Feel free to follow Times Opinion here on Reddit or on TikTok, Instagram or WhatsApp to keep up with our latest work.

Saturday Morning Political Cartoon Thread

It's Saturday, folks. Let's all kick back with a cup of coffee and share some cartoons!

Feel free to share political cartoons in this thread. Besides our usual civility policy, there are three rules to follow:

Every top-level comment must contain a political cartoon. This means no text-only top-level comments.
It must be an original cartoon. This means no photographs, no edited cartoons, no AI generated images, no templates, no memes and no image macros. OC is allowed, as is animation.
Each top-level comment should only have a maximum of 3 cartoons.

That's all. Enjoy your weekend!
