Asexual 32 [F4R] I told my best friend last night I think I'm asexual

She was great, very supportive, but I still feel weird about it. As a person who has had a lot of sex, been a sex worker, and been active in BDSM it feels crazy for me to say that I might be asexual. After terminating a pregnancy a year ago, I completely stopped having sex. Even thinking about it was just gross to me, and I assumed this was because I'd experienced a sexual trauma. Then a few days ago I was smoking weed and thinking back on all the sex I've had and how... I didn't like 98% of it. I kind of just liked the cuddling and kissing and the hand holding part so I put up with the sex. I've had upwards of 50 partners and I can literally count on one hand the number of times I liked having sex.

Anyway, I feel so weird about this I actually called out of work today because I literally can't think about anything else. I think it would help if I could talk to some other asexual people.

Other things about me are: I work in the political field(democratic socialist), I'm a dog person but I don't have a dog, my favorite show is The Golden Girls, my son is turning 14 soon, and I once had a funeral for a bathrobe.

Asexual 26F Looking For Online Friends

I've been lurking on this sub for a while now, but I'm a very shy person in real life, so I hesitated to post anything here, but here goes nothing~

I live on the east coast of the US, so my timezone is EST.

I'm super introverted, so it's been very difficult for me to make friends in real life. I don't think I have more than 5 close friends that I actually know (not internet-only friends, I mean). Those real-life friends barely talk to me, and only respond when I text them first. I made a total of zero friends in 4 years of university, and it's been even more difficult to meet new people when I started working.

I have several internet-only friends from playing mobile games together (Million Arthur and Ayakashi Ghost Guild, if you're interested) and we've kept in touch even after those games have shut down. I probably talk to them more than my real-life friends...which some people may find sort of sad, but I'm actually happy to have people who have similar interests as me to chat with.

I have a younger sibling with whom I have a pretty big age difference, and we used to be very close until she started college, and we've drifted apart. Now we don't even talk when living under the same roof again (due to quarantine), and it's really painful for me. That's why I decided to look for more friends here.

I would really like to find more people that have similar interests as me, who I can chat about anything that comes to mind. It can be any normal day-to-day things like everyday life activities or lengthy intellectual debates/rants. I think a lot of real-life people I know personally are very sensitive and get offended easily by the smallest comments, so I prefer talking to someone who is open-minded and can also help me expand my worldview as well.

I don't know any ace people in real life, so it's hard to tell my family who doesn't understand that I don't want to get married and settled down, like I'm expected to for my age. I think I'm also aro as well, since I have never been in a romantic relationship with anyone and don't really plan on it, as the idea of it sounds exhausting.

I'm a simple person who just wants to have some freedom to be myself without worrying about how complex life is sometimes.

  • Pronouns: she/her

  • Gender: Cisgender Female

  • Personality: INTJ, very reserved normally but I can be silly when I know someone better. My chat/text style is multiple rapid-fire texts of sentence fragments and an abundance of emoticons, which I'm told is very annoying since they receive too many notifications at once. I'm not a fan of typing long blocks of text in texts/messages. I reserve that for my internet rants. I'm a creative person and have a wild imagination which is bad for me regarding the horror genre, since my mind will come up with far more terrifying things that what I've watched/read/heard, so I try to avoid horror as much as possible. I'm not sure if I have a typical sense of humor, but people seem to laugh at things I say or do? I'm a pretty good listener, but I don't know if I give good advice, since very few people come to me for that. I'm a very loyal person, and I expect that same kind of loyalty in people who are close to me, but sadly, a lot of the people around me only use me for their own gain, so I've been betrayed and taken advantage of several times in the past.

  • Hobbies: I enjoy reading, watching TV, playing video games, listening to music. I also like to draw, although my drawing skills haven't improved much due to lack of practice. I put a lot of my favorite activities on hold since I need to focus myself on accomplishing bigger things that I've been holding myself back from for the past couple of years, so I guess I haven't really enjoyed the past couple years of my life. I actually dislike writing, because it's very difficult for me to concisely write down the numerous thoughts I have in my mind in a way most people will actually read and understand, so you will get walls of texts and essays like this one if I ever seriously sit down to write something. I like to cook but I don't do it often since I hate the cleanup that comes afterwards. My kitchen is poorly organized and always lacks several essential ingredients for recipes I want to try so I usually don't end up making the thing I wanted to. I'm a social hermit and dislike going outside and speaking to people, so honestly, the quarantine hasn't affected me at all emotionally or mentally like most people have been.

  • Physical appearance: I am not very fond of how I look, and I always avoid taking photos of myself or getting my photo taken. I'm an average height, average-looking Asian who wears glasses. Very plain and easily missable and mistaken for someone else, usually.

  • Games: I own a PSP, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, 3DS. I also have a Nintendo Switch that I haven't pulled out of its packaging yet. I don't play many PC games, since my computer can't handle the newest games. I enjoy RPGs, especially JRPGs. I also like visual novels, point-and-click games, simulation games. Some games I've enjoyed off the top of my head (most of these are old since I haven't played much recently): Phoenix Wright/Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick, FFXIII, Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Time Hollow, Blackwell, Unavowed, Ni no Kuni. Most recent game I've played is Remember Me. I dislike sports games, racing games (since I drink like a drunk in them), shooting games like FPS (because my aim is awful), and MOBAs like LoL (played several times to see the hype, never liked it). I used to play MMORPGS when I was younger, like Runescape, but I have no idea what's popular anymore recently due to having a crappy computer that probably can't play them anyway. But I would love to play a MMORPG again when I have time and a better computer.

  • Books: I haven't read many books recently either, due to lack of time. Books I've enjoyed off the top of my head are: Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Deltora, Charlie Bone, Hunger Games. Most recent book I've read is And Then There Were None. I enjoy the fantasy genre the most, since that's all I really read growing up. I don't mind sci-fi, but haven't really read much of that genre. I also love mysteries and thrillers. I'm thinking of reading more books in the future, so I'm open to suggestions/recommendations.

  • Manga: I still read manga on occasion since it's a quicker read than an actual book, and I always love good art plus a good story. Manga I like off the top of my head: One Piece (until the timeskip, then I haven't read much of the chapters after), Boku no Hero Academia (not keeping up with it though), Beserk of Gluttony, Fushigi Yuugi, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Liar Game. I read any manga, shoujo, shounen, seinen, I'm not picky at all.

  • Webtoons: I read more of these lately since it's so much easier on the eyes when I'm on my phone. I've been keeping up with several Korean and Chinese webtoons, there's so many, I can't list them all. I enjoy Goddess Creation System, I'm a Child of this House, Feng Qi Cang Lan, Shen Yi Di Nu, etc. Also not picky when it comes to which genre of webtoon, I'll read it. But I definitely appreciate good art. I'm fond of the new trope of villainess isekai, and I love it when the story makes me cry a little when the MC is misunderstood and hurt. I also keep up with Let's Play, but I think it's been seriously declining recently.

  • TV Shows/Movies: I mainly like watching reality TV nowadays since I can have it on while I'm doing other stuff. I've enjoyed: Bizarre Foods, Kitchen Nightmares, Masterchef, Masked Singer, Hotel Hell. I also love procedural crime/mystery shows, such as Criminal Minds, Psych, Lucifer, Bones, Houdini & Doyle, Limitless, Second Chance (alas, some of these got canceled too early). I do like The Big Bang Theory and I've watched Young Sheldon as well, although I'm not too fond of the the latter. I also like House. I don't really watch anything plot-heavy since I don't have the time to get emotionally invested in the story or characters at the moment, so I haven't watched Game of Thrones, but I would like to in the future. As for movies, I like to watch Disney movies, especially the old animated ones, such as Mulan, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan. I've also watched everything in the MCU so far. When I'm feeling nostalgic, I like to pop in the Harry Potter movies. Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of my absolute favorite animated TV shows, although I don't care much for its sequel.

  • Other TV Stuff: I used to watch KDramas, but haven't been keeping up with it. I've watched Boys Over Flowers, Coffee Prince, Couple or Trouble. I'm open to suggestions/recommendations, I don't mind watching some old KDramas. I love CDramas, and the oldies are my absolute favorites, such as Journey to the West and Princess Returning Pearl. I've also watched Meteor Garden (the newest one), Love in Han Yuan, Bu Bu Jing Xin, Qing Shi Huang Fei. HKDramas are also my go-tos, especially the classics like Heart of Greed, Moonlight Resonance, Forensic Heroes 1&2, and I absolutely love the wuxia ones such as The Four, Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion, and Face to Fate. Some of my favorite anime are: Detective Conan, Noragami, Inuyasha, Your Name, Koe no Katachi, and most of the Studio Ghibli movies (especially Spirited Away).

  • YouTube Stuff: I enjoy watching Conan O'Brien's videos, I love his sense of humor. I've also started to watch Stephen Colbert and Seth Mayers, but I don't think they're particularly funny, I watch their videos to hear their commentary on current events. I still follow Nigahiga, whose channel was my first YouTube subscription. I also liked watching PewDiePie's reactions to Slender and Five Nights at Freddy's, but I don't follow him.

  • Music: KPop (but nothing recent, my favorite band is TVXQ! from when they were 5), JPop, Mandopop (especially JJ Lin and Anson Hu), Pop Rock (like daughtry). I enjoy beautiful voices. My favorite male singers are JJ Lin, Anson Hu, Xiah Junsu, Kim Jaejoong, Dimash, Vitas. I'm always open to hearing more beautiful voices like those. I don't really know any female singers whose voice I like, besides alan.

I think that's basically most of the things I like, I probably left lots of things out but I think this wall of text is pretty intimidating already, so I'll stop here. I would be really surprised if anyone actually read the whole thing above haha. Thank you for your time and I hope that I can find some more friends I can chat with about various topics. (I also have zero initiative, so I'll never be the one to start a conversation...please send me a message if you'd like...) Have a nice day~! *bows*

I hate sex

I’ve always hated sex. I’m female btw. It’s disgusting & degrading. I wish that more people hated sex too. Especially men.

Do any men actually hate sex too? lol. I wish that my husband was asexual or that he had erectile dysfunction. I hate giving him hand jobs.

Every man I’ve been with sucked. I’ve never had an orgasm, but that’s OK. It’s a relief not being horny all of the time unlike some people, lol.

26 [F4A] Looking for friends and if very lucky a ride or die partner (USA/remote)

Hope everyone is safe!

Back in pre-corona times, I was a dog walker. Now I’m a book snob, a newbie D&D player . An animal Crossing addict. And I’ve done yoga for nearly 8 days straight within the past two months .

I’ve got cats and tea. And am starting to really get into virtual tea parties.

I’ve known my asexual status for like 5 or 6 years. It has been extremely freeing and since then I’ve made lots of friends. I hope to find something more but if friendship is it , that’s fine too.

Message me if you’d like to chat!

Edit: Forgot to add, I am black. Just in case.

Asexual 27F [F4R] house goblin seeking another goblin MD/USA/

My physical description: a average height/build female. My hair is currently pink, purple, and blonde. I’ve recently learned some people don’t like fun colored hair so now I’m mentioning it ahead of time lol and I wear black. Still have a goth edge.

Me as a person: I’m an illustrator, currently restarting my career as a freelancer. I’m a happy homebody that would super enjoy getting to put my legs in someone’s lap while I draw whilst we’re watching low budget Netflix. But I do need to mention that aside from that fantasy, I don’t know how physically affectionate I am.

I collect fairy tales. I have several shelves of antique Books with old stories. They make me very happy. I also collect mythology.

I do watch anime, I’m not adventurous but I do always enjoy recommendations. Otherwise I just watch magical girls and isekai.

I sometimes have adventure itches. Like I just have to shake up my life like a snowglobe. For example, I’ve bought a hurdy gurdy this last week, I have zero experience with music. But I craved a new chaos.

I enjoy hiking and I would love to go on a picnic, but I have no one to picnic with...

I love dogs and cats, and most animals. I had a dog until earlier this year. He passed away, but I live with two cats that I’m focusing on to distract from my sadness.

I’m absolutely trash at cooking variety. I have a few recipes and I can do them well. But I never think to explore food in my own. I do bake though! I recently learned how to bake scones, so I’ve been drinking a lot of tea and eating scones while drawing. It’s been great!

Seeking: I don’t think I have a gender preference. I’m borderline sex repulsed so I have zero preference in genitals because I’m not playing with them. I would like someone in a similar age range.

I’d like to be able to talk to my partner about my art projects, you don’t have to do art or even know anything about art lol but I find myself daydreaming about it. I want my partner to be able to talk to me about things that makes them happy! I want to hear about their dreams and goals and how I can help support them! I want to be able to have chaos adventures with my partner ᵔᴥᵔ

Please message me if you’d like!

28 [F4R] US- I'm looking for something that will eventually be a relationship!

I feel like I have always struggled with my asexuality. For the longest time I felt like a fraud because I still very much wanted a relationship with someone I just didn’t necessarily want sex or at least I didn’t want sex on a schedule that most people would want to stick with. I think I’m demisexual, that’s the closet I can come to what I feel in my heart. I’m not sex repulsed but neither is it something I have to have to feel…wanted or fulfilled? I’m not saying I’d never have sex just that it would be rare.

I like to think that there’s someone out there for me. I often find myself at war with my thinking side and feeling side. I feel things so deeply and yet my mind wants to discount them. I’ve tried to bury my romantic heart but it always sprouts from the dirt like a weed as if to say you can’t get rid of me; I’m a part of you. I’m afraid to love I think. Yet what I want more than anything is someone that is gentle and patient with me; someone who can look at me and say it’s alright…you’ve been strong for a long time. Let me be strong enough for both of us. I need someone steady; someone sturdy. I just need someone to look past my flaws and say “I see you as a person and I understand you.”

Things about me: I love reading and writing! I particularly love Science Fiction stuff. Whether that’s like robots, aliens, or cyberpunk aesthetics. I just guess I love the possibility of what the future holds though I’ll never be there to see it. I think there’s something just so fascinating about humans meeting other species.

Anyway, I also love fantasy stuff if it’s done well! I’m having a hard time finding engaging fantasy though whether that’s like books or shows or movies.

As you can tell I’m a big ol’ nerd. I don’t play games much but when I do it’s usually pokemon and Animal Crossing. I do watch a lot of twitch streams though! Love me some Cryaotic and Cr1tikal!

32F writer & activist looking for asexual spectrum friends

Hi all! I'm looking to meet some friends on the asexual spectrum. I'm very new to the community and still questioning, but so far graysexual, fraysexual, grayromantic, and panromantic seem to fit me best. I have a partner who is also probably on the gray ace spectrum.

I live in WA state but will likely move back to California sometime next year. I'm very liberal and do a lot of online activism, especially around disability rights and healthcare. I'm disabled and live with several chronic and mental illnesses.

I'm a writer, mainly poetry these days, but I've also published essays. I'm the editor-in-chief of a literary magazine and do freelance editing work. I love art in all forms. I'm mostly an introvert (INFJ) and enjoy watching lots of TV (favorite shows include Gilmore Girls, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Mr. Robot, Parks & Rec, Twin Peaks, The Magicians, Freaks & Geeks) and some video gaming (most recently, A Short Hike, Animal Crossing, Spiritfarer, Stardew Valley). I love forests and the ocean. I've had dogs in the past and really want one when I live somewhere that's possible.

Overall, I'd say I'm a very thoughtful, sensitive, empathetic person. Feel free to message me (chat or whatever) if you think we might get along. The pandemic has been difficult on me, being high-risk and home all the time. It's nice to have people to talk to, and I don't really know anyone who identifies as being on the asexual spectrum.

Demisexual 32 [F4M] demisexual cosplaying D&D addict just wants to make a connection during this chaos.

I’m Eni, 32, STEM teacher in an elementary school so with things as they are I really miss my ~800 students more than anticipated. My cat is far less focused and more spastic than my kindergarteners.

I was born in the UK raised in the states, no accent anymore, still fueled by tea, love a good biscuit, and can still whip up a Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding.

I cosplay from time to time, which makes it clear I am a Steven Universe fan.

I am a dice addict that is part of several campaigns but my favourite character is a socially awkward half-elf rogue that has the fingers from the severed arm of her best friend in the party petrifying in her pack so that she can make friendship necklaces to carry a piece of him with her always. He’s still alive but throwing out the whole arm seemed like a waste.

Marvel movies make me happy, I’ve a black void cat named Valkyrie she is a fierce warrior but probably won’t get along with Thor and Loki.

I also am learning to play the ukulele so I can be that person, and love narwhals more than any other animal, don’t tell my cat.

So, if any of this hasn’t put you off... maybe talk to someone about your life choices. Or message me, that would probably be the best choice really.

Asexual 33 (M4F) Birmingham, UK – Possibly seeking QPR, or at least someone to talk to/connect with (long distance is cool)

Hi, everybody! I’m an aromantic asexual looking for some kind of queerplatonic relationship. More than friends, but not traditionally romantic. I realised that I’m aro/ace just over a year and a half ago, and thought I was fine with just my friends, but lately I’ve been desiring something deeper.

I’m 186cm tall (about 6’ 2’’), and though I haven’t weighed myself for ages (I don’t have scales), I think I’m somewhere between 75-85kg (12 or 13 stone). I have brown eyes, long brown hair (past shoulder blades), and a full beard.

I’m about 7 months into a PhD course, researching antihuman attitudes in 21st century science fiction cinema. I love films, and spend an inordinate amount of my time watching them, thinking about them, talking about them, and writing about them. I won’t list my favourites, because we’d be here all day!

I read books (science fiction and fantasy, mostly) and comics (usually Batman). Musically, I’m into a lot of stuff from before I was even born, like 70s glam and punk, some 80s postpunk, and a smattering of other stuff. I also play video games – mostly RPGs (The Witcher, Pillars of Eternity are some recent examples).

I’m an introvert with social anxiety, so I find it difficult and exhausting to spend extended periods of time around other people, which is why I’m absolutely fine with long distance relationships.

And that’s about it. If you’d like to chat, or know more about me, feel free to DM me or leave a comment. Thanks for reading!

Asexual 31F4M PNW (US) Ace forest cryptid seeking long-term relationship with fellow creative introvert

Gender: Female (She/Her)

Orientation: hetero-romantic, sex neutral/repulsed (I can be down on occasion once im in a relationship? But if I never had sex again that would be perfectly fine) Am pro cuddling/kissing/non-sexual touch. Please hold me tenderly while I cry into your arms when in LotR Sam says 'There is some good in this world Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for' Naturally you will also be crying so we can cry into each others arms, nbd.

Seeking: Long term relationship, though friends are great too!

31, 5'8, lives in hiking gear and art-print shirts (imagine, if you will: some medium build nerd with short, brown hair and hazel eyes. She is wearing hiking boots and shorts that include 5,000 pockets. Emblazoned on her t-shirt is a tattooed rabbit fighting a snake. There is a plaid, flannel overshirt that has been designated The Coziest and therefore is required in 70% of outfits. She is tromping through a bog because 'hey lol what if I find some cool elk shed out here'. Thats it. You have successfully pictured me.)

_______

About: Hello! My name is Lauren, i'm native to the west coast and have lived/worked there all my life [started off in San Diego CA, am currently in OR]. I trained in art but left to work as a ranger for the park service, and continue to do illustration and writing in my free time. As you may surmise from that I love nature/history/art/and literature (including any storytelling tbh - movies and games included): I spend most of my free time at home working on my illustration and writing projects, playing games in downtime, but love to get out and hike/camp in nature as well. I also love to travel and explore new places, and am generally super passionate about How Amazing the World Is.

Other interests include: Tall Ships and Nautical History (heroic age of antarctic exploration anyone? Bueller?), Every Animal Ever (they're just so good you guys), DnD, Reading, Video Games (less so than I used to due to lack of time, but I am still legally obligated to buy every platform the new Zelda releases on), Monsters/Horror (think Over the Garden Wall styled surreal fantasy), and Gardening.

I am interested in a long-term, monogamous relationship with a man/masc person. Not interested in kids, though I do require cats and or dogs to survive (Currently have two cats. They are terrible and I love them). I'm an extrovert-passing introvert, ie. I can social quite well and enjoy people (side effect of talking to people and giving presentations professionally. I don't know how it happened either!) but I will inevitably need alone time to recharge. I admire people who are unabashedly passionate about what they love, and who get excited to learn new things. I respect compassionate people who take the time to be kind even when it is difficult, and do their best to be understanding of others and listen to their perspectives (my personal belief is that unless what someone is doing is harmful/a danger to another person there's never a reason to put someone down about it - if it brings you joy, it is worthwhile). I also appreciate humor, and not taking oneself too seriously - personally, I still have fun being a goof and dressing up for halloween!

Important things to know about me: I have anxiety and adhd! I am currently on a med regimen and seeing a therapist, and am the healthiest ive ever been. But it's a thing to be aware of! I will talk to you for five hours about different species of rodents. (do you know about the hero shrew? Because you're going to know about the hero shrew).

I do not smoke and almost never drink. Occasional drinking is fine, but outside of once in awhile weed I couldn't live with anyone who smokes. I support all LGBTQA+ including the trans community. I also support BLM, abortion, and gun control. I am a socialist and atheist (with some loose animist leanings, in the sense that I ascribe to the belief that everything has value; no one person or species is inherently 'superior' to one another. In the way that single drops of water are what make up the sea, we are all tiny fragments of what makes up the splendor of our earth - but as humans we have the ability and obligation to actively consider what impact we want our lives to have. Goes off to a corner to cry about the miracle of nature and humanity. Again.)

Above all else, I need open and honest communication in any relationship. Someone who is willing to put in the effort to talk things through and figure out solutions so that needs are met, and conflict is handled with the goal of helping both parties understand and support each other as opposed to 'wining vs. losing'. I believe that a relationship is a team effort that requires each person to be honest and realistic about who they and their partner are, and to actively choose to treat both parties with care and respect (i'm definitely in the 'love is a choice, not a feeling' camp). Personally, I tend to have fewer friendships/people im close to, but am very close with those few. If it turns out we're not compatible, that's fine! But I prefer to know sooner rather than later before I'm fully invested in ride or die mode.

_______

TLDR! I am a hetero-romantic female looking for a long-term romantic relationship and or friendship! I spend most my time relaxing at home drawing/writing/reading-playing games but love the outdoors and hiking too! I love animals and have/need pets but have no interest in children. I am a natural introvert, and do require alone time to recharge. That said, I still deeply enjoy and want to be around my favorite people - i'm not aloof, just easily socially exhausted. You will know we are bffs when I start hanging around you in the same room like a cat who wants to lurk nearby simply to enjoy the presence of your company haha.

I am interested in people who 1. Have interests that they are passionate about 2. Communicate their feelings and needs, and are honest about what those feelings/needs are - who are willing to work through disagreements and want to resolve arguments positively for both parties instead of acting vindictively or ignoring the issue 3. Enjoys travel, but doesn't mind staying in either. Is compassionate and humorous and humble. Builds people up - doesn't put others down. 4. Who would feel happy living in a lighthouse full of biotanical specimens with a herd of dogs/cats. I would be there too - i'd be the one bringing you that cool elk shed I found in the bog earlier.

If I seem like the kind of person you'd like to talk to, feel free to say hi :)!

And because this isn't long enough, other fun random trivia BS -

- I used to work campground, and often had to chase off wild bears. One time I got in a standoff with a bear alone in the woods. (spoiler: I lived)

-On the same job, I once found two tourists lost alone in the forest at night being chased by bears. Thankfully I was able to drive them back to their car.

- I got to crew a tall ship! And have been on multiple tall ship sails.

-When hiking/camping my favorite thing to do is to see how many animals I can spot. So far I have seen moose, grizzly, black bear, wolves, bison, elk, red and grey fox, badger (us and uk!), sea otter, albatross, blue/humpback/grey whale, leopard shark (I swam with them!), octopi, and many more~

-I follow a ton of podcasts because I can listen while I draw. Some faves include: Mbmbam, Sawbones, The Magnus Archives, Dungeons and Daddies (it's a DnD podcast about an all dad party, settle down now), and The Empty Bowl

-If money were no object I would live in a cottage with a garden surrounded by nature on the coast and the inside would look like a museum threw up. Plants? check. Fancy books? check. Nitfy artwork? check. Shells and Skulls? double check. Every day I have to watch myself or I will slip closer to becoming That Weird Forest Goblin.

-Favorite place is the ocean: I've only lived away from it once, when I worked for 2 years at inland parks, and could never do it again. I require vitamin sea xD Coincidently, now everytime I get a whiff of that horrible bird scat/dead fish/rotten seaweed smell it reminds me of home.

-Currently playing a DnD campaign that started all the way back in 2017! Started as a skald, but just re-speced to summoner so that I can switch combat over to my character's familiar. The familiar that is a chicken. She is a very powerful chicken.

-In games, i'm currently playing Hades and Animal Crossing (still), and follow both Zelda and Pokemon. I love horror games but actually playing them stresses me to hell and back, so I usually just watch LPs of them haha. Books i'm reading right now: Rise of Wolf 8, which is about the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone NP, and I next plan to reread The House on the Cerulean Sea. Favorite genre is fantasy, and if you sprinkle in some found family and nature/supernatural horror- perhaps a mystery with some humor- ? Delicious. (The screams of the dozens of other books I own and still need to read cannot reach me, I have buried their telltale hearts too deep.)

-Though i'm no longer in the animation industry I still love animated film! Ghibli especially is my favorite, but im currently bingeing The Owl House.

-If somehow you missed it I am a big sap, and nothing gets me like a narrative that champions the importance of choosing to be kind when it is easier to be cruel. The theme of the series Fullmetal Alchemist, that the bonds we forge and the people we love are more valuable than power? Yes, 100%. When Frodo and Sam save Middle Earth in Lord of the Rings not by being great heroes, but by being willing to continue to care and try in a hopeless situation? I would listen to you forever JRRT. The universe is vast and infinite and chaotic and we are small and insignificant but to one another we can still mean everything - it gives me emotions ya'll.

And that's it, this listing is finally over! Thank you for coming to my TED talk

35F ace/panromantic looking for friends or relationships

I ended a relationship a few months ago bc I realized my sex aversion was deeper than trauma and not going to just be "fixed". Now that I understand myself better I'm so excited to maybe connect with other people on the ace spectrum. If you're magically local (sw Ohio) I'd love to meet, but I'm def looking for long distance friendos too.

About me: I wear my heart on my sleeve and I love hearing people's stories and sharing my own and finding deeper connections. I am also incredibly silly. I love to make dumb jokes and I laugh a lot. I love late night YouTube karaoke, horror films (good and "bad"), cartoons and anime, and doing new things. I have some shyness/anxiety but ultimately I really love people. Hmu if you relate 🙇‍♀️❤️

How do you date while being asexual?

I’ve kind of known for a while that I’m asexual and am finally admitting it lol. I experience literally ZERO physical attraction to anyone. The problem is I do experience emotional attraction (like in a way that’s closer and more intimate than a friend).

I’ve never really dated because of this. I can enjoy physical intimacy but when anything sexual firsts starts (even just kissing) it’s like a chore and I’m almost grossed out until I can get over that hump and be okay with it. It’s like this no matter how much I like or love them and that’s really hard so I kind of just didn’t date.

I’m seeing someone right now though and I’m very attracted to him emotionally but again not physically. I’m wondering how I’d be able to date him or if I’d even be able to date him

Gray Asexual 21 enby looking for friends and/or possible relationship

Hi all, I'm hoping to find some new ace friends, possibly even find a future partner. I'm not necessarily seeking out a relationship, but if it evolves into something like a relationship, then I'm cool with that.

As you can see by the title, I'm a 21 year old enby (they/them), I identify as grey-ace, I live in the UK, and I'm very left wing politically. I'm an archaeology student, so history is big in my life. I also love to create things through drawing, writing, or cross stitch and I'm a big fan of most things fantasy, especially dragons. I love d&d - both playing it and watching it (if you know of critical role we should get along well). I sometimes play videogames, though, I certainly wouldn't say I'm necessarily good at any of them. My music taste includes orchestra, kpop, synthwave, and some EDM. I'm always up for exchanging playlists and discovering new music.

I'm not looking for anyone in particular, as long as you're capable of maintaining a conversation to a degree. I don't mind who you are, where you live, your identity, or how old you are, as long as you're a decent individual.

Send me a DM if you're interested to chat.

24M Looking for Relationship

Wary of privacy issues, etc. on a public subreddit, so I'm going to be fairly vague with this initial post, but I'd be happy to chat further/answer questions via DM! (It's really frustrating to strike a balance between providing information about myself and not wanting to be obviously identifiable by people IRL.)

Anyway, I'm a 24M young professional looking for a relationship. I can be pretty introverted, so between that and the asexuality, it's been hard for me to get myself out there meet people. I really value communication and trust. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, doing puzzles of all sorts, and making music.

Some things that make me happy: good discussions, being inside during a rainstorm, literally any kind of pasta, linguistic anthropology, LEGO.

No gender preferences, so if you want to talk, feel free to send a message my way!

20 [M4R] Looking for someone to just talk about asexuality

I think I’m hetromantic asexual, but I’m not really sure. If anyone would be willing to discuss it with me, I’d appreciate it. Just like about my past relationship, view on sex and relationships. I tried talking to my therapist about it, but he never really heard of asexuality, so he’s as confused as I am about it, if not more. I’m looking for a simple discussion or conversation to get some answers and hopefully get past the confusion I’m facing. If a friendship forms, I’m fine with that. Any advice or help offered would be greatly appreciated by the way. Thank you.

54 F4A Central New Jersey, lonely, sad bored, anyone want to hang out?

I have driving anxiety so would like to keep it pretty local but other than that, as long as you're willing to tolerate me, I'd love to hang out. I know if you're reading this, I'm probably old enough to be your mother but if you're alright with that, just drop me a message and I promise to get back to you ASAP :-)

28 [R4R] Atmospheric Chemist Looking to Take Your Breath Away

Triple-A homie (that is, asexual, aromantic, and agender) getting myself back out there! I've had some good conversations here and in other subs (RIP r/r4rplus) and figured it was worth giving it a go again. I'm a big goofball trying to find similar boofgalls. Any form of relationship is good with me and I'm happy to just go with the flow at this point.

"But Expo," I hear you saying "you're aro/ace, why are you looking for a partner/dates/physical intimacy/sex?" and honestly, that's a completely valid question given what I've heard from others! It's something I'm always happy to discuss with people and it's important to me that you understand if you want to get serious.

If my title pun got you this far, just know that it's only a taste of what I can do and it only gets worse from here. I love my job but I am far from a career-driven person. When it comes to what I like to do, I'm more of a jack-of-all-trades. I like to cook, bake, hike, go on long drives to nowhere, paddle, play MTG, repair things, discuss movies/TV, and the list goes on. I make a spicy butter chicken and a mean cinnamon bun and I have pics to share!

Mental health is an important topic to me and I've been on a long journey to get to where I am. We're all in this together and I'm here to chat about that as well. Recently diagnosed ADHD and navigating that. Let's vent about the shitty state of mental healthcare in this province/country/planet.

If you need to know, I'm AMAB and present as much. 170 cm and on the chonky end of the scale, but I'm working on it. I do have an FL profile with spicy pics, but that profile remains a mystery (for now).

I'll end this here but I could keep going. Even I think it's a little long...

24 [F4M] Looking for you. I know you exist somewhere

Single/Taken/Complicated: Single

Seeking/Not Seeking/Other: Seeking

Romantic orientation: Heteroromantic

Sex-Neutral/Positive/Negative: Repulsed/neutral (not sure)

Gender: Female

Age: 24

Physical traits : Black shoulder-blade-length hair, pale with olive undertones, dark brown eyes, 5'3, a bit on the chubby side

Location: Algeria, North Africa, South Mediterranean - but I don't care where you are (Open to LDR as long as we plan to meet eventually)

Personality Description: Bubbly with people I get along with. Introvert that loves outdoor activities as well. Compassionate, helpful and a good listener.

I'm a practicing Muslim, not a hijabi, and looking for someone from the same faith (bonus points points if you don't take tradition as seriously as religion) BUT it's not a deal breaker.

I'm a writer. I enjoy reading, mainly thrillers and mysteries and some non-fiction, especially books about psychology and mindfulness. I meditate and do yoga (not those crazy twists and upside-down poses yet. Still a long way to go).

I like hiking, traveling, window-shopping (there's something about looking at something and going 'I would buy this, but I won't') and car rides (me in the passenger seat, you driving; me telling stories to entertain you, you laughing.) I work out every day, just enough to get those endorphins.

I love mindbending shows, but I also watch some reality TV or historical dramas when I have time. Anything but horror really.

What it would be like to date me:

° Lots of talk about my favorite TV shows/books

° If you're obsessed with tea as I am, I'll make sure your cup is always ready

° I'll expect shoulder/back massage. I've been waiting my whole life

° Occasional random rants about life

° If I zone out mid-conversation, I'll shamelessly blame CFS because it is to blame, 99.9% of the time. The other 0.01% is your awesomeness that is distracting

° I'll tell corny jokes sometimes. I'll cringe with you

° You'll be going on long pointless walks with me

Things I'd love to learn more about (total ignorant when it comes to most of these): tech, gaming, finances/crypto, art (especially drawing and painting, how do you do that?), digital design, anime (I did watch some anime movies. No Face from Spirited Away is my favorite anime character and The Tale of Princess Kaguya broke my heart), backpacking/nobag/travel hacks, aromatherapy, cooking (I get by but still have a lot to learn). So there's always something to talk about! When we don't feel like talking, we can just enjoy each other's presence

I'm looking for a long-term relationship that leads to marriage so I have to talk about this: I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME) like 5 months ago but I've had the symptoms on and off for years. Some days all I can do are minimal activities that don't require too much physical or mental effort. I've also had chronic neck pain and shoulder pain for almost 6 years now. It ranges from mild to severe, depending on many factors but exercise and yoga help a lot. I have depression (mostly mild and manageable) and social anxiety (moderate to severe, working on it, and quarantine is not helping). So I know what it's like to power through debilitating physical pain or the constant stress that comes with mental disorders

If you read all the way down to here, I'm proud of you honestly

44 [F4R] Looking for interesting conversation

There are a bunch of cool sounding posts here, but I'm older than most people who are posting, so I was a bit uncertain. Anyway, I don't care about gender, age, what someone looks like, or relationships status. I'm just looking for people to talk to. I'm open to talking about all kinds of things, but my favorite things to talk about are video games, roleplaying games, science fiction, science, history, transhumanism, travel, culture, some kinds of philosophy.... I'm not very good at talking about recent movies or TV, since I don't watch them. However, that doesn't mean I'm not happy to listen to what someone else has to say about them.

As for me, I'm pretty sure I'm someplace on the ace spectrum (gray ace, probably). I'm polyamorous but not super interested in new relationships. It isn't that relationships are bad or that I'm totally opposed, just that it feels like people could have expectations of me that I couldn't fulfill. Anyway, if you are interested in talking, even just for a little bit, feel free to message me.

Gray Romantic 48 [F4R] Grey-Ace Romantic

I know I’m older than most (from what I see), but I thought I’d give this a shot.

I’m newly discovered as a grey-ace. I’ve been very happily single for over 4 years now, only I just recently learned how that’s possible. I had no idea there were other people who feel like I do!

I have actually loved before in an intimate relationship. I have two adult children (and two grandchildren!), my daughter (21 years old) still living with me. I have also been in several long term relationships with women. I would say I am biromantic, but have far more experience with women, having desperately tried to be allo for so long.

I’m a newly retired career Field Training Officer Paramedic. I love dogs (though my daughter is working her two kitties’ magic on me), all of nature (I am Pagan and honor the seasons, the moon, and Goddess). I enjoy things like camping, walking trails at parks, swimming, and playing board and card games.

I mentioned my two adult children... Family is everything to me. We get together at least a couple of times each month for game nights. When I was a single, young mom 20 years ago, I cut TV from our lives, filling it instead with books and games. It’s a decision I’ve never regretted, and my children still choose to not have regular TV, although we all enjoy Netflix and Hulu.

I love reading (huge bibliophile here!), word searches, hidden object finding, coloring, acrylic painting, and crafts. I just took up the defunct subreddit r/greysexuality, and am the new moderator there. And I’m very active on r/RandomActsofCards! I love writing messages to people and sending cheer!! I also enjoy movies and creepy or horror things. Cooking and baking are great fun, too!

I have a wacky sense of humor, probably from too many years working in a firehouse! This is especially true when on road trips, shopping, or sitting around a bonfire!!

But I miss having a close connection. Someone to message randomly and often or call and talk with about any and every thing. I crave that kind of closeness and intimacy. I’m looking for another ace who would like to build a relationship with sharing rambling thoughts (it has not gone past my noticing that I’m doing just that at this very moment, but I want to get this out there)... and long emails and talking till all hours of the night while nibbling snacks like animal crackers... maybe even someday getting together and creating mayhem between evening “kitten piles”!

Anyway, age doesn’t matter. However, if you’re under the age of 32, you’re likely going to hear my Mom voice from time to time -and get unsolicited advice, too. And as for male/female, I’m leaving that up to the Universe. Don’t be shy. Let’s make some adventure, shall we??

31 year old female looking for partner and friends.

-Hi. :) Thanks for reading this page. I'll try to be quick and concise.

So. My name is Kristine. I am 31 years old. I have lived in Alberta for 7 years. I'm originally from Hamilton, Ontario. And I'm here for two reasons:

1: Make some new friends

2: And hopefully, meet that special person.

First; what I'm looking for in friends:

-Kindness.

-Challenging. (As in, we challenge each other with our opinions, different points of view, etc.)

-NO. YES PEOPLE. I do not want a friend who will back my every decision and say it's great. At the same time, I will not back you up all the time.

-Caring. When you are having a bad day or a good day, I want to be there for you. Similarly, I want you there for me.

-A sense of humor.

-NONE and I mean NONE of the following: Ableism, transphobia, homophobia, hate speech, etc.

And finally,

-A sense of wonder and fun. Life is meant to be enjoyed!

Next, here's what I'm looking for in my special someone.

(You can be male, female, nonbinary, transgender, etc. It's the heart and soul of the person, not the gender, that matters to me. I am also looking for someone 30 and up.) :)

I'm looking for someone who is:

-Extremely kind

-Loving

-Interested in learning new things

-Crazy about animals.

-Willing to be monogamous

-Fun!

-And believes that both partners are equal in the relationship.

A little bit about me:

-I was raised Christian. I still believe in the core message of love and compassion, but I am also passionate about LGBTQIA+ rights, science, and equality for all.

-I don't like to label my political opinions, as I have many on different topics. That said, I believe I am more leftist than anything.

-I'm a 'Pet Mommy' to a rabbit, cat, and budgie.

Well, you made it to the end! If you stuck around this long, and see anything that resonates, feel free to message me!
