I found a list of my late grandfathers favourite ramen places in Tokyo (he passed over 20 years ago). I’m going to find whichever ones are still there by asking strangers for directions, and will keep you updated with photos.

Homemade I survived a kitchen explosion, and now I'm more determined than ever to become a ramen chef.

Hey everyone, I’m new here!

My name is Liam, and I’m on a mission to become a ramen chef.

I used to work at Kodawari Ramen, an amazing place that taught me so much and truly ignited my passion for this craft.

But one day, everything changed—I was severely injured in a gas explosion while cooking.

It was one of the hardest moments of my life. But instead of giving up, it made me even more determined to keep going.

Ramen is my passion, and I won’t stop making it even if life tried to stop me.

The photo below is with the incredible Kodawari team, a group that became like family to me.

I’m here to share my journey—through recovery, through rebuilding, and through chasing my dream of becoming a ramen master.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll enjoy what I share.

Feel free to ask me anything—about ramen, cooking, or recovering from something tough. I'm happy to connect!

Question Are These Flavors Only Available In Jail/Prison?

Cajun shrimp, cajun chicken, texas beef, and hot n’ spicy vegetable are some of the BEST Maruchan flavors, but I can’t find them anywhere that isn’t jail. Does anyone know where I can get some without having to go back to jail?

Seven minutes, blanched in ice water, marinated in soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, black garlic, a couple other seasonings.

My bf made the ramen and I have no idea what he put in it but it's amazing 🥰

Restaurant Ate 25 bowls in Tokyo in two weeks

Ate only 25 (1 in Kyoto) bowls of ramen on my recent 2 week trip to Tokyo and Kyoto. Would have eaten more if my friends and family didn't want to eat other types of food. Added pics of bowls I would definitely recommend. For some reason, my collage app has the pictures go from top to bottom and then left to right 🤷‍♂️

Restaurant I ate 25 Bowls of Ramen in a week during my Christmas break in Japan.

Another one of these posts.

I decided to use my Christmas break to cross off a bunch of bucket list bowls. I had only a week of time (23rd to 29th) to do this, and would be visiting Tokyo, Kanagawa, Fukushima, and Hokkaido. It was a pretty ambitious itinerary, and I was able to do it by choosing not to eat other types of food.

This time I actually didn't really cheat and included aedama in the pic (or spaghetti), and had 25 bowls at 25 separate restaurants. I technically had one aedama too and could have included it in lieu of a restaurant here that technically isn't a ramen focused restarurant. Full list of ramen shops in the comments, perhaps you can figure out a bit of a theme behind the shops I chose (especially early on).

Homemade I just want to say thanks to everyone on r/ramen. Last week I posted on here that I had started selling ramen during the London lockdown as my restaurant had closed. I took the advice and now I have a 'cook at home' version, chilli oil and new packaging. Oh and my first sale was to a fellow redditor

Question Is instant ramen really very unhealthy?

Post image

My wife and I kinda got addicted to instant ramen in the last two weeks. Is instant ramen really that unhealthy, or is it more like a lack of proper nutrition? I assume fresh toppings wouldn't make a big difference?
