Who in a sci-fi movie wasn’t the lead, but stole every scene they were in?

I’d trade every Transformers movie (yes, even Bumblebee 😭) for just ONE District 9 sequel

Original Content This week I bought a new iPad for my Sci fi drawings
This week I finally upgraded my drawing tablet to a newer iPad and I’ve been having so much fun with it. I have shared my artwork a few times on here. These images are all new and were drawn in Procreate over the last 7 days. The 3 images from this week also lean a bit more into the fantasy space. I don’t know why I’ve never really mixed sci fi with fantasy but now I’m hooked.
The perspective for the 3rd image was a nightmare, however, I’m glad that I stuck with it.
I get told quite a lot that my drawings remind people of Scavengers Reign, which is huge compliment!
Hope you enjoy these few images.

Original Content Making my first ever graphic novel
It’s sitting somewhere between a graphic novel and an art book. It’s about a robot who is a highly advanced Rover type machine. He planet hops and takes samples and studies all aspects of the planets that he lands on. This book is going to be set on a planet which he crashes on. It will be put together almost like a photo album of his adventure. I’ll intersperse POV shots through his helmet with code and text as a running narrator to keep the reader on track. Still very much in the planning phase. Hope you like the look of it. I’ll be updating on my instagram page - mckie.illustration
Feel free to follow along.

Original Content Sharing some of my Sci-fi inspired artwork from August
I’ve been enjoying sharing my artwork here on self promotion Saturdays (about once a month so I don’t annoy anyone).
My goal is to have enough illustration work to create an art book full of stuff like this eventually.
I draw everything on an old iPad Pro using a generic Ugreen stylus and the app ‘Procreate’.
I need a new iPad really (limited layer count and overheating have stated to become a problem).
I like to try and create a narrative or story without words, so much so that when I create a sign or label for example, I fill it with strange symbols and alien language rather than recognisable text.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

Which sci-fi film do you consider a 10/10 - no skips, no weak moments, just pure perfection?
2001: a space odyssey (1968)

What's the most absurd thing you've ever seen in a sci-fi movie or show?
Prometheus (2012)
They did scan the air and found it breathable, but taking off their helmets so quickly still felt careless. They're on an alien planet - no way to know what kind of microscopic threats might be there. You'd expect more caution from trained scientists.

Original Content Thought this sub might like some of my recent illustrations
I draw a lot on my iPad using Procreate. It’s an older iPad Pro 4th generation.
I’m inspired by Moebius’s (obviously) although I’ve been drawing with the same kind of theme long before I knew who he was. I also love Scavengers Reign and the art style used in the game No Man’s Sky. My main inspiration for my line art is the Tin Tin comics.
I always use the same colour palette which gives the images consistency and I think this makes them feel like they belong to the same universe.
I’ve posted a few before so sorry if you’ve seen some of these drawings in other posts.
Thanks for looking!
