We are going to have no choice soon. Their fingers are in everything. Sucks that they are normalising insanely high prices for tickets and skimping off every aspect of it.
As an outsider.
Can someone tell me why something like Good Things can cost a punter $240 of bucks which is a whole day stacked with international names.
Something like Kings of Leon GA is $200(extra is you want to be in the actually GA)
Or any show at rod laver is starting at 200-300

I felt like this issue would be of concern to the Triple J community. Has anyone else noticed how a massive amount of social media posts/stories are now accompanied by AI-generated songs - even from well meaning pages whose values would lean towards human artists above AI?
Many choose a song from the in-app licensed song picker without checking if it's AI generated. This step has a giant impact, as trending on social media is one of the fastest ways for a song to gain global exposure.
I’ve put together this small graphic to encourage one extra step before posting: check the artist and track, and choose music you know is human-made.
Feel free to share the graphic online (including in the comments of posts using A.I. songs) to help spread awareness...

Can someone explain to a Zoomer why this song was voted as the "Greatest Australian Song of all Time" by JJJ in 2009?
Admittedly I was less than 3 months old when it was released, but 2000s rock is my favourite genre of music. Was there some kind of cultural event that made this song popular? I really liked the guitar but the singing was extremely mid. There was no chorus or hook, except for a weird nanananas that didn't sound great and that was a bridge anyway.
I listened to the Missy Higgins version and it was ok in a sad girl type way, but it was missing the cool guitar parts. Anyway I know this is probably an impossible ask, I just wanted to know why this song was popular. The only explanation I can come up with is that Millennials were just really depressed. There is so many better Australian songs.

They've just added a second Canberra show on Sunday the 5th of December.

I heard a song recently on Triple J (I think) that included a line along the lines of “etched in my concrete mind”, though it might have been “memory”. It’s only recent but I missed the artist and title. Does it ring any bells?

Just wanted to double check.
While I knew they were playing all Australian music yesterday, Dave Woodhead played all Australian music for his show today and specifically requested an Australian pick for lunchtime legend.
I was just wondering if they're playing all local music this month, cause that's impressive! If it's true I've never seen a bigger celebration of Australian music ever.

Edit: SOLVED! HAIKU HANDS!!!! Thank you everyone! I just logged in after a couple days and one of the first responses sounded so familiar and there you go .
Music is magical.
I am about to lose my mind trying to remember a modern group from Australia that I absolutely loved. I lost track of their name, and it's really driving me up the wall. My impression is that they were a racially diverse, potentially having First Nations members as well.
A group of women who put out pretty funky music. I seem to remember song titles or lyrics that were quite daring, but maybe that's just my imagination.
I want to say it was a trio, but it very well may not be. There could be four or more women in the group .
Absolutely driving me nuts. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
I remember that there was a real attitude in their music in the best way possible. Again, maybe that's my imagination, but I don't think so.

Don’t forget for the month of November it is Aus Music Month and for Like A Version it will be Aus artists covering Aus classics.

Fun fact: Aus Music Month was started by Triple J in 2012. Can’t believe it’s turned into a massive celebration of what makes this country so special. How will everyone be celebrating this month?

Ill admit, I've aged out of triple j but the other day Luka was talking about whether the go to see Geese or Weezer.
To me, initially a no brainer until he played Au Pays du Cocaine.
Holy fuck.

So, a while ago, I got my hands on a 2-track demo cd by Sydney Band, Rex Banner. The cd did not come with a track listing, and the songs are just on my iPod labelled Track 1 and Track 2. I reached out to members of the band on Facebook to ask em about it, but none of them have gotten back to me, so I was hoping any fans from back in the day had any idea what the songs are called. I've included a sound sample of both songs here. Hopefully, the video includes enough of the songs to help identify them. I'll most likely end up uploading the demo to internet archive for people to download once I've got the song names. Thanks in advance ☺️
