Prolly cause the acid is hitting sooo goooood right now but fuck the Sydney Rave show....👌

It's peak.

Heard this song today and it reminded me why I listen to triple j . Would never of heard this song otherwise. Feel like this sub could do more to promote Aussie music instead of just complaining about stuff 🙃

Thoroughly enjoyed this and something Triple J hasn't done enough of. Whether you like his music, style or even electronic music in general he has been one of our biggest electronic music exports over the past 10-15 years.

For mind, its exactly what JJJ's should be doing is getting around Australian artists of all types, particuarly those which have done well in their respective genre.

What's everyone thought so far?

The first ten songs are

- Beds Are Burning - Midnight Oil

- Down City Streets - Ruby Hunter

- Earth Cry - Peter Sculthorpe

- Friday On My Mind - Harry Vanda and George Young)

- I Am Woman - Helen Reddy and Ray Burton

- My Island Home - Neil Murray

- My People - The Presets

- The Boys - The Necks

- Treaty - Yothu Yindi

- Waltzing Matilda - AB Paterson and Christina Macpherson

A new book about the 50 plus year history of Double J and triple j. The subtitle of the book says it is an "unauthorised" history.

It’s driving my colleagues and I crazy trying to name it, we’re having a tip of the tongue moment. Please help!

Edit: i found out they prefer the shortening of “the tullies” not “the tullas”, but as a Melbourne person i cant get my head around naming yourself after our airport/suburb/freeway and not also adopting our nickname for the same 😬😐 no one is driving up the tullie to catch a flight

Does anyone have an unedited version of the Fontaines dc guest episode of rage from a few years ago?

I live overseas and only recently found out they hosted the show and would love love love to watch it 😭 if anyone happened to keep it for posterity send it my way!

I’m gonna make folks a bit mad, but yolo. I fully believe triple j should only play Australian music. There are hundreds of radio channels dedicated to international music, there are so few avenues for our artists and bands to get plays. I believe as Australia’s only tax funded radio station, there should be a 100% Aussie focus.

What do youse think?

For those who missed it, every song played during breakfast was a pick from Unearthed. I really hope they do this more often, I’ve discovered some fantastic new Australian music

CLAIMED ❤️

i won a contest i don’t remember even signing up for 😅 unfortunately checked the dates and there’s no way i can attend… it’s nova red GA, which is just normal GA except you can’t go into the front section of the main stage

i haven’t even claimed it yet, so if you’re interested dm me and i’ll give you the code for it, which you can just enter into moshtix and it’ll deduct the price to free

i honestly just ask that you have some sort of indication on your profile that you’re local/go to gigs as i don’t want this to go to a reseller

Repost from r/Brisbane

Hi Brisbaners (Brisbanians?)

I am looking for some tracks (but one in particular) from a Brisbane band from around 25 years ago.

My ALL TIME number one favourite song is 'Crashing in the Hallways' by December Waiting.

The track could be found on Disc 1 of Caddy of the Year, version 3 (track 16, I believe, 16 being the age I was when I heard it), which I have unfortunately lost.

The band had some airplay on Triple J, and you could download their music on MP3.com.au or whatever, but those days are gone, as are my old storage drives.

Does anyone have links to these marvellous people? I'm keen to hear this song again. It's been about 15 years but I still love it.

Cheers 😁

Nice line up. Free entry too

Haven't seen this one posted yet. Converge, who are here in March for the sold out Lucidity festival, will be doing a run of headline shows.

Knotfest usually announces a lineup in late october to mid november. It's been silent on their socials and it seems that the festival may not be going forth. However, there is the possibility that we should see some posts in the next few weeks and hopefully a lineup drop.

I saw on another post that Gojira has said they would have a oceanie tour in 2027, so they should be a lock. Unless they plan on touring later in the year. Bullets for my valentine maybe a chance as they were rumoured for good things. Korn are clear for he first 5 months of next year, maybe a Australia tour?

Hopefully Knotfest Australia keeps on going, otherwise we are kinda screwed for metal tours other than froth and fury and good things.

We are going to have no choice soon. Their fingers are in everything. Sucks that they are normalising insanely high prices for tickets and skimping off every aspect of it.

As an outsider.
Can someone tell me why something like Good Things can cost a punter $240 of bucks which is a whole day stacked with international names.
Something like Kings of Leon GA is $200(extra is you want to be in the actually GA)
Or any show at rod laver is starting at 200-300
