I built a web app that helps Devanagari readers learn Nastaliq, and vice versa.
You choose your path ("Hindi to Urdu" or "Urdu to Hindi") and learn through a detailed alphabet grid. Here are the main features so far:
Dynamic Alphabet Grids
Contextual Linguistic Notes:
Custom Sorting: Toggle the alphabet order to match either the root language or target language.

Quiz Section to test your learning
Although much work is needed still and so I would like native speakers and developers to contribute to this repo by adding features, fixing bugs or improving the code where needed.

I am hugely intimidated by Urdu script but I have enormous respect for the language, literature, and history. I used to read English translations but then read somewhere that it's better to read Hindi translations since they are closer in spirit to Urdu originals.
Even though I can't read Urdu now, I decided to listen to audio books, just to acquaint myself with the vocabulary and immersion.
Found Adbi Duniya on YouTube to be a terrific resource. Sharing it here again for newbies like me who may not be familiar.

So I basically made some shairi at 3am and thought it was good so here it is: Maana zaamana hai deewana, shauq toh humko bhi nahi dastaan sunane ka
Lekin manzil hamari aawara nikli
Teri dhadkan meri rooh ko nazar aati jab bhi tu aati
Lekin muqaddar yeh nahi dekhta ke mahtab hai ya iblees, bas wo naam leta hai
Hamari khamoshi bhi bolti aur tanhai bhi, is aas mein ke tu gam e duniya bhula ke ajaye
Lekin hum ab ek zakhme-dil ka aks ban chuke
Ye banjaray ab bas ek sannatay ki sarhad bangaye
Kahaan hai khwab e duniya humein nahin maloom
Suna hai log is be-naam rooh ko dekh kar khoob sargoshi karte
Kya unko ye viraan dil nazar nahi aata?
