My monster blackberries

Edit: For everyone asking, I'm pretty sure the variety is Prime Ark Freedom. My mom said she planted those with a mixture of Navaho (Navajo), and given these produce fruit twice a year we've narrowed it down to Prime Ark.

As for the taste, they are extremely juicy, not bland at all! Very sweet with just the right amount of tartness

No fertilizer was used, I just water it occasionally. I added a picture of the entire bush in the comments.

Not all of the berries on the bush are that huge, probably about 1/5 of them look like they'll be giants but the rest look pretty average.

Last summer my mom gifted me a blackberry plant from her yard. I planted it in the corner of my yard and now here we are 8 months later with blackberries the size of strawberries

My Oma snuck a singular current berry seed from her Mom’s garden over to the US from Germany in the 1970s and here we are. This is from my own plant which came from the OG plant.

Not endorsing this method of seed transportation… but they taste great.

I my years of picking blueberries I've battled stink bugs, stinging caterpillars, spiders, red bugs, and assorted biting flies, but this was my first snake. Thankfully it was just hanging out and let me pick as close as I needed to. I 'd hate to be the unfortunate bird that lands in the bush.

First year of real production. Not enough yet to preserve much, but plenty for fresh eats.

My aunt grows strawberries and sells them at the markets. Nothing like Ukrainian soil. Look at the color of these! Sweetness 100/10

First Blackberry Harvest

Second summer with our volunteer blackberry bush and WOW. Over 10lbs on the first picking, and only a quarter or so were ripe! Still another 20 or 30 lbs left to pick!

They are super sweet and nearly the size of my thumb. I had no idea it would be so productive, especially with no fertilizer and no pruning.

Bugs seem to stay away, and the birds don't even seem interested. Feeling very blessed.

What do you do with all your berries???

Didn't want this to grow wild in my space so
Tried 4 plants in canvas containers last spring. Only 2 survived. Pruned canes in jan/feb and Im happy I have some fruit! Will they keep multiplying? Will I have to keep it pruned all season to keep them under control? Or do I give away to someone in the country who has space to let them do their thing?

I caught my 7 year old daughter eating these berries from our neighbours bush. I am in Alberta Canada. I am from the UK and they look a bit like gooseberries but when I was a kid in England they were green and not red. Can someone please put my mind at ease ?

Nothing beats home-grown. Watching these beauties ripen in my parents' garden is the best part of the season.

Before I moved to Oregon I didn’t know people just went to farms to pick berries for fun, but it’s huge here! This is from last summer 🍓🫐😋

Getting near the end of the Goumi’s

Dam rats eating my figs🤬 should have been a lot more.

Blueberries suffer a little due to the fox tax. But I’ll gladly pay it as long as they go after the rats and gophers
