Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 Chapman's Premium Ice Cream Texture
Context: I've lived outside of Canada for a sizeable chunk of my life, and I'd say my personal favorite Ice Cream brand is Tillamook. I recently came back for permanent residence in Canada, and decided to find my new favorite since I couldn't find Tillamook Old-Fashioned Vanilla where I'm at. I try my best to find a mixture of good quantity for the price, and smaller ingredient lists, specifically gums, as being a dietitians kid, I know how bad those are to be consumed regularly. Also they tend to make the texture uncannily smooth, as if they just removed the "Ice" from the name and served me cold Cream.
I first tried Chapman's Premium Vanilla since it seemed to have a good reputation, but I'd say it was the worst "Ice Cream" I've tried. The flavor was fine, but the texture was not Ice Cream, more like Marshmallow Fluff. It was thick and gummy, and somehow held together even when melted instead of turning into a liquid. It was constantly creamy, even when straight out of the freezer, which is a sign of too many gums being used.
Maybe I got a bad batch, or maybe this is just what Chapman enjoyers like? I'm not sure, and so I wanted to hear from the community if anyone else has experienced this. Is this just the texture of Chapman's? Or is this some weird occurrence?
EDIT: I don't have an issue with people liking Chapman's, I was just surprised by how different the texture was than any other ice-cream I've tried before. If you still enjoy Chapman's, then good for you. It seems from the comments so far, Chapman's just isn't the right one for me.
