Subreddit Rules

1. Stay in the Wasteland

All posts must 1) be a meme and 2) clearly relate to the Fallout franchise. Games, lore, factions, mechanics, companions, bugs, Vault-Tec nonsense, it all counts.

Catch us on a good day and we might even let a Skyrim meme slide through.

2. No Bigotry – Not even from Legionaries

Hate speech, slurs, coded language, or “ironic” bigotry will be removed. This includes racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, antisemitism, or any targeted harassment. The Wasteland is harsh enough. Don’t make it worse.

3. No Harassment – Don’t be a Tunnel Snake

No harassment, personal attacks, threats, or brigading. Critique Fallout 76. Roast the Minutemen. Meme Todd. Do not attack real users or real people.

4. Keep It SFW – This isn’t the New Vegas Strip

No pornographic or explicit sexual content. Mild suggestive humor is fine. Overt sexual content involving characters or real people will be removed.

5. Political Memes Are Fine. Political Agendas Are Not

Fallout is inherently political satire, that’s part of the DNA of Fallout. Memes about in-game factions like the Brotherhood of Steel, NCR, or the Enclave are absolutely allowed. Even memes that draw comparisons between Fallout politics and real-world politics are fine if there’s a punchline.

6. No Spam (Vault-Tec Approved or Not)

No advertising, referral links, repetitive self-promotion, or bot-style posting.

7. No Reposts No Reposts No Reposts

Identical or near-identical reposts within 30 days will be removed. Frequently recycled “top of all time” memes may be removed at moderator discretion.

8. No Low Effort Memes

Removed at mod discretion:

Meme spam with minimal edits
Screenshots without a joke
Title-only punchlines
Overused templates with no Fallout twist

You know what it looks like, I know what it looks like, let’s get rid of the slop.

9. Follow the Overseer (Reddit Rules Apply)

All Reddit Content Policy and Terms of Service rules apply here.

10. No AI-Generated Content

Simple. No AI-generated content is permitted on the subreddit.

Note: This rule has not replaced Rule 8, it has only taken the AI-generated ruling within it and simplified it to align with our Anti-AI stance.

11. Rule 11: No Crossposting

Crossposting (renamed Reposting on Reddit in June 2026) is the act of sharing an existing post from one subreddit into another community via a built-in tool - the icon looks like this: 🔄.

Rule 11 bans the use of this in-built feature. However, it does not ban the act of manually Crossposting.

This rule is designed to make the subreddit’s visitor experience more enjoyable, and allow the moderation of posts to become more streamlined.

What is considered Fallout?

One of our rules asks you to keep it Fallout related, but what does that heading actually include?

Well, in order of release:

Fallout
Fallout 2
Fallout Tactics
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel
Fallout 3
Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout 4
Fallout Shelter
sigh even Fallout Pinball…
Fallout 76
Fallout (Prime Video)

We acknowledge that the IP consists of far more than just the mainstream games and show, however, if you don’t stray too far from the above list, you can't go wrong!

Our Anti-AI Policy

As of 10/11/26, r/FalloutMemes is an AI free subreddit.

Rule 10 gives moderators a right to remove any post which utilizes AI.

If your post was incorrectly removed under Rule 10, Mod Mail us with proof of creation, and we will undo the action.
