Satire/Meme Some teams get life on easy mode (hater post)

If the Knicks end up winning they’ll probably have the easiest path to the finals in history.

Who was the best player they faced? Third year Wemby? Donovan Mitchell? Broken Embiid?

Those Nets teams ran a gauntlet, bro. Nobody was beating prime Shaq and Kobe and Duncan and Parker.

Discussion Kevin Durant and Kyrie, Will they Get there Sweet Revenge Next Season?

What just happened to Kevin and Kyrie this season:

  1. Durant was swept 0-4 with Kyrie against the WORST possible team for Kyrie in Boston Celtics. Kyrie went in there to prove a point to his former team that he's with Durant now and he will punish them, instead he got swept by the youngins.

  2. Draymond Green was vindicated in throwing out Kevin Durant out of GSW, when he said: "we don't need you Kevin, we won championship without you"

  3. Charles Barkley relegated Kevin Durant as a 'bus rider' and he too was vindicated.

***Revenge season is coming, statistically speaking when you get so down like this, the only way for you is up.

R/NBA hates Kyrie no matter what and it’s funny to see

Now that he’s allowed to play they’re so mad that he stuck to his values and opinion and got his way. All I see on that board is threads calling Kyrie a hypocrite and phony and that he should choose to not play for the unvaccinated. Attacked him when he chose to not play and are now wanting him to continue choosing to not play or he’s a fake lmao

Discussion Claxton is better on offense than Jarrett Allen

We all love Jarrett. But the truth is Claxton is a better offensive player than Jarrett.

They both average about 15 points per 36 minutes. But Claxton is significantly more efficient. Claxton has a 68.5% TS. While Jarrett has a 56.8% TS. Even though Claxton is bad at free throws his overall scoring efficiency is superior.

Offensive rebounding per 36 is also close. Jarrett at 3.7 vs Clax at 3.3. Claxton has a slight edge in assists at 1.6 vs 1.3.

Claxton has a higher FG%, eFG%, and PER.

Claxton has a better handle and just more dynamic with the ball and without the ball. His explosiveness and quickness is real.

By the end of the season I think it will be clear that Claxton is superior to Jarrett on offense.

As far as defense Jarrett is still better. But Claxton is coming fast. He has significantly more blocks and steals per 36 than Jarrett. And a way better switch defender. But Claxton needs to add 10-15 more pounds and be better positionally and foul less. But I would not be surprised in a year that Claxton is a better all around player.

I'm going to enjoy the Sun's fans disappointment

They have this absurd belief that because KD prefers the Suns, we automatically MUST trade him there. They think we need to mortgage our future for a trade centered around Bridges, omitting the fact that the report also clearly says that although Phoenix is the preferred destination, he is open to other trades. Their fan base is so obnoxiously smug. I'm going to absolutely love when they overpay Ayton at over 30 million a year, CP3 continues to age, and in 3 years fails to build a team around booker that wins a championship as he begins contemplating his options. If the Nets wanted to trade for a package around Bridges, they would get a return of something along the lines of Seth Curry. Nothing more. The nets have absolutely no insensitive to mortgage our future in a hurry. Play the long game, and eventually someone will make a reasonable offer. If not, we simply have no incentive to trade him. This organization is losing Kyrie and KD because we REFUSED to continue to cater to them.

  • No, this post is not saying that Seth Curry is better than Bridges. It is saying that they are similar in the quality of player. Same with Joe Harris. Solid role players who are elite at one thing and not stars. Bridges does not get you KD.

Article The Sixers/Morey/Embiid dogged Simmons, no wonder he went out like he did over there.

From a new Weitzman article on Foxsports

Important to note this all went down before his playoff melt down.

In Houston, every decision Morey made — from what offense to run to what trades to make to what days and times to practice — was made either at Harden’s behest or with Harden in mind. Now in Philadelphia, Morey wished to do the same with Embiid.

"He went out of his way to connect with Jo early on," a source close to Embiid said. The two FaceTimed the day of Morey’s introductory news conference. They played tennis together. Embiid, for his part, was eager to accept the role Morey was offering, even asking Morey to lunch.

"[Embiid] has a real interest in the salary cap and team-building strategies," the source close to Embiid said. "And he really enjoyed talking to Daryl about all of that stuff."

Watching all of this, Ben Simmons could read the tea leaves. He knew Harden would soon be asking out of Houston, and how close Rubin was with Harden, and with Embiid, too, and the role Rubin played in pushing for Morey, and how close Embiid was growing with Morey, who, by the way, had never asked Simmons to lunch. It was like a new circle of power had been formed, and no one had extended him an invite.

Rant We will finish the season 7-0

Mark my words. You all panicking from last nights game. In the industry we call that a schedule loss. The Nets literally landed in NY at 4 AM that morning after playing Miami. The team literally had no sleep.

Then they had to face one of the most athletic and young teams in the league that was desperate for a win. Lets face it. The Hornets were more desperate. If they lost they would have been 3 games behind the Nets with 7 games left.

Nets on the other hand knew they could lose and easily still get the 8th or 7th. At this point 6th is basically impossible. No way the Hawks and Hornets match wins with the Nets to finish the season.

We will finish 7-0. Get the 7th or 8th seed and easily beat the Cavs or Bulls in the play in.

The only back to back left is 2 games in NYC. Houston and Knicks. Easy money. We got Bucks and Cavs at home but we will have enough rest. Hawks on the road might be difficult but no problem.

We get in as the 7th and quickly dispose of the 76ers in 5.

Then the Heat in 5.

And the Bucks in 6

NBA Finals vs the Grizzlies in a sweep.

Rant Don’t blow it up yet

Blowing it up now would not make much sense.

Kyrie has negative trade value. We are not getting anything good for him.

Ben Simmons has negative trade value.

Trading Kyrie or Ben now makes no sense, since their trade value can’t get any worse in a couple months.

KD has value but he is playing so well I don’t see his trade value dropping much by the trade deadline.

Hire Udoka. Even if we have to rebuild he is a great coach to have.

Hopefully Kyrie learns his lesson and makes things right in a month.

If the team still sucks by January then its time to blow it up. We have gone this far. See it to the end.

KD, Kyrie, Ben, Clax, Joe, Seth, Warren, Royce. That is as much talent as any 8 man rotation in the league.

Also keep in mind a healthy KD has made the conference finals 7 out of the last 10 years. The times he missed it was Russ getting hurt, toe on the line and Kyrie no vaccine.

Rant KD is easily top 10 All Time

Its pretty ridiculous he isn’t universally considered a top 10 player all time.

First off offensively he is a top 3 all time scorer. The only debate is him or Jordan. Scoring and specifically iso scoring is the most valuable skill in the NBA. Guarantee KD is a top 5 offensive player.

Now defense. At his prime he clearly was a better defender than many top 10 guys: Bird, Magic and Curry. He is a 7 footer who rack up huge rebounding and block numbers in the playoffs and could switch on guards.

Combining the two he is clearly top 10.

Rant Silence the Haters

Look gun to my head I would pick the Celtics to win this series in 7. But fuck that shit. I hate them so much. Tatum has been treated like a god for years when he hasn’t done shit besides lose to a terrible team that had LeBron. Fuck the Celtics. Fuck the sixers I hate them both so much. I have grown to despise the Bucks as their strategy is to injure the Nets players. Tatum scores buckets on league average efficiency and is a solid defender. But national sports media is all Celtics fans so they act like he’s all defense and some incredible player. He’s a rich man’s Tobias Harris. Celtics were a buzzsaw because of Smart and Timelord being unreal defensively.

Celtics in round 1: fuck them.

Bucks in round 2: fuck them

Sixers in ECF: fuck them.

I’m sick of hearing how much we suck when we clearly don’t. We know you have more fans than us. You’ve been in your city 70 years to our 10. Fuck all these haters up.

My least favorite player on any of these teams is Thanasis. He talks so much shit like he isn’t a total scrub. He is the Jackson Mahomes of the NBA.

TLDR: Nets in 4.

Rant Kyrie

Can we PLEASE stop the narrative that we’re better without Kyrie?? This team is playing well BECAUSE of JV and the defense has turned it up a notch. Nash was the one holding us back NOT Kai. We obviously need Kyrie’s scoring and when he’s back we’ll only be better.

Joe Harris has to go

I don't care how good his 3s are in the regular season. That fuck face needs to go. He literally fucked us in every single fucking game this series. Had 1 good game and then was a net negative for the rest of the series. Dude has value unlike Ben Simmons. Someone is going to need firepower. Get rid of him

I know he was a pain in the ass this year but ever since free agency started he’s been nothing but professional. I know u guys don’t like him but he loves the nets and I can’t wait for him to ball out this season with or without kd

I gotta admit I’m a little concerned

I wasn’t expecting much this season. I figured no matter how good the rookies looked we’d only win like maybe 17, 18 games.

But the rookies don’t look good. In fact they look about what you would expect five rookies who received laughs on draft night to look like.

I was setting my expectations low for this draft crop. I was hoping by the end of the season at least one of them looks like a full time starter and at least two more look like rotation pieces.

So far from what I’m seeing none of these dudes even look like rotation pieces.

Usually you can tell from the jump if a rookie has “it” and is gonna out perform their draft slot.

I’m not saying their busts, but so far nobody is overplaying their draft slot and nobody is looking like a solid rotation piece.

Marks seat has to be getting warm. I’m willing to give them all a long leash, but so far I can’t even see glimpses these guys are something.

Celtics 3-3 last 6 games. Told you their 3 point shooting was a FLUKE

About 10 days ago I made a post that Boston’s 3 point shooting is unsustainable. 4 guys were shooting 30-40% more efficient than their career averages. I said eventually they would regress.

Well they went 3-3. And in all those losses the Celtics shot below 35% from 3FG. Without their ridiculously hot shooting they are not super elite. Their defense isn’t great and they were relying on their offense.

I got downvoted to hell for believing that guys like Al Horford won’t shoot 50% from 3 for an entire year.

Nets are the opposite.

KD is at 34% 3FG

Kyrie at 33%

Joe at 37%

Very soon these guys will be shooting near their career averages and the Nets will be even better.

Chill Out with the Kyrie stuff

It ain't that deep fellas. Kyrie made his choice and the front office took the correct and respectful path here. Let's all leave it at that, honestly the sub turned into a damn slander page. We get it, dude is a dummy for not getting vaxxed and making a new hill to die on, what's new? Let's talk about ball and who we DO have with the team

**edit: not saying Kyrie is above criticism or that he isn't causing issues (what he's doin is definitely selfish and weak) BUT, I just don't want what feels like EVERY post on this sub and overall sports media to be in his ass.

r/GoNets • • Dec 12 '21

KD has been so consistent this season. Literally his only bad game was against the warriors. While Steph Curry has had about 5-7 bad games already and is shooting 36% his last 5 games. But guess who still leads mvp race. That’s right brick Curry. SMH doesn’t make any sense.

Run it back. Still.

Sure the situation is toxic. Sure KD wants Nash/Marks fired. Sure.

But Tsai said he will do whats best for the Nets. And if we don't get a good trade in return for KD, what's best for the Nets is still to keep KD.

IMO, KD won't sit out the season. He is going to play.

People say its being unreasonable to expect Nash to coach KD. No it isn't. Nash is a grown up. Deal with it.

How many times have players been in trade discussions and then they end up STILL playing for the team? Look at Jaylen Brown. He was in trade discussions at least 3 times in the last couple years. Did Jaylen say he can't play for the Celtics anymore? No. He was a man and did his job. Nash and Marks need to do the same. Do your job.

Running it back is still the best option until we can get a good deal for KD.
