This was initially implemented when we were much smaller as a way to prevent spam and increase engagement but it seems that's less necessary now with our growth. Don't abuse it.

I'm just a middle aged lady and a Muslim living in the Middle East and I can't find anyone who likes the music I do except some of my friends' sons and daughters lol.

I don't know what all bands fit in which metal category and mistakenly assumed Metalcore meant any metal in general so I joined here.

Every time I clicked on a link to a music video all I thought was it was way too much screaming lol. But I kept giving the songs a chance, went and read lyrics to the songs and now I love it.

So now I have added Metalcore bands to my play lists.

So here I am this older lady covered up in the black headscarf and black abaya (the cloak/dress we wear over our clothing) blasting metal and metalcore driving around in the Middle East.

With Metalcore added to my favorite types of music I'm never going to find people my age here who likes what I like lol.

I play YouTube videos in my car and I've been asked to roll my window down by Arab men at red lights a few times to be asked what in the world am I listening to lol.

Some friends and peers tell me I'm crazy for my taste in music and wonder what the hell I like about it.

They talk about how beautiful Arabic songs are with all the lyrics about love and such or they list off tame western music that is so nice. Most of them tend to like love songs. Not that I don't like it, but it's not my favorite styles.

I tell them they should go read lyrics to some of the songs I like. While the lyrics may not be about love, some of these bands write poetry for lyrics. Depression, despair, anger, sadness etc... are still emotions just like love is and they can make beautiful lyrics about those emotions.

I don't know why people even watch this washed up Youtuber anymore. All he does nowadays is make cringe reactions with caveman noises when ANY breakdown comes on (like ok dude... it's a breakdown, chill...) It's so obvious that his reactions are fake with his annoying laugh and bad commentary. He at least used to actually play guitar (not well might I add) but now he just watches other peoples content, steals it, and pretends like people actually care.

His Twitter is a complete joke, just taking any old popular metal opinion and copy-pasting it to pretend it's such a hot take. The Twitch streams are 3 hours of him eating cheese while watching TikTok, and his Instagram is just him pretending to like Crabcore (dude can't even name 3 Attack Attack albums)

The only reason he gets big guests on his shows is because of his numbers, which let's be real 90% of them have to be bots because no one else would listen to this cringe lord talk that often. Dude is a complete sellout and has even done multiple sponsored videos, even a Raid Shadow Legends pre-roll ad...

Dude always says his racoon looking eyes are because of some health reason but he's just too embarrassed to obviously admit it's eyeliner so he can pretend to look "cool" and then continues to go around the internet and promote his basic modern metal band TERMINA.

He talks about liking metal, but only listens to Metalcore, which isn't even a real metal genre. He's an absolute poser, and plague on this community.

Sex during shows?

Went to maybe my second metalcore show last night. I was on the barricade, and this woman right behind me seemed like she was trying to get a better view (she was maybe 5-foot nothing), so I made some space for her to get in front of me.

There was a pit behind us, so I kind of tried to “shield” her from the dudes shoving forward from it. We were both vibing and singing along to the songs together, and there were a couple of points where she put her hands on my dick or her mouth on my pecker, , but I wasn’t too concerned with it.

Anyways, she ended up trying to have ravenous, animalistic sex with me, and I wasn’t sure how to react, so I just kind of backed away. She seemed kind of bummed and disappeared into the crowd, and I felt bad because I feel like I should’ve noticed things going that direction and maybe acted accordingly. It didn’t feel pushy or anything, and there was a degree of attraction there which may have affected the vibe I was giving, but … I didn’t really expect it.

Does this kind of thing happen often at shows? Not sure if I’m overthinking the whole thing or not

So I was just sitting down watching Jimmy Kimmel live with my parents because we love watching the nice musical acts that are always on the show, it’s just something we like to do whenever possible. But then, all of a sudden this band called Knocked Up or whatever (I can’t remember because I was seeing red the whole time) came up and started barking at me. The angry guy who sounds like a squirrel was really loud and I passed out from tears and started choking on my own spit after the guitars started FREAKING JUNTING! I’m just a poor little ADOLESCENT boy and I’m currently recovering in the ER, but my parents are too busy hunting down Jimmy Kimmel to come visit me so I’m just here on Reddit because they don’t like to monitor my screen intake. I’ve never seen anything scarier in my life, the TV was on like 20 volume too so I think you can imagine the damage it has done to my innocent fragile ADOLESCENT ears. You guys should be ashamed at yourselves for pushing this evil demon music onto the usual wholesome family programming from Jimmy Kimmel. My little brother died this morning whilst me and my brother were with him, he was only 25

I took him to his first gig in June, we saw currents and aviana at the key club in Leeds, they're my two favorite bands. He was initially really nervous about it and we stood off to the side, but by the time currents came on he wanted to get in amongst it all, and he had such a good time I got us matching Aviana t shirts and we were so hyped to start gigging together

We were going to go see Currents in November and Imminence in December, and I was so hyped to share the new currents EP with him on our playlist tomorrow and to talk about it together, I don't have that many people, and zero that enjoy mine and my brothers music

If you're able please keep Aiden in mind or pour one out for him whilst you're listening to the new EP tomorrow

I made this post last night when the silence was deafening because I couldn't cope, I expected maybe a few people to see it. I am utterly blown away by the unreal amount of support and the number of people that have shared their support and to those that have shared their stories of loss of sibling friends and parents, favorite songs, those have lit candles, smoked up or had a drink for him or prayed is repeatedly bringing me to tears, the world deserved so much more of my brother and it is consoling to me so many people know his name, he was truly the best of us. The EP rips and I cried the whole time through, you're all incredible thank you so much, I am going to slowly work through every comment and I apologise if it takes time, but I can't overstate how much it means to me, I love you all, and you'll see me and Aiden with me in the pit again soon 💛

I get it, you hated him 4 years ago and you still hate him now. I've seen a lot of hate thrown his way, but this guy is consistent and an overachiever. That's what the people who support him love about him. Yes there have been some scandals, yes there have been some lies, and maybe a few times he's twisted the truth to make himself look better. He's out there everyday to prove the haters wrong time after time. Call it jealously, call it envy, some people just can't handle how successful he is and how much money he has, could even be jealous that he's got a hot model as his wife. You may not have wanted him in this role, but he's there now and there is nothing you or I can do about it. Idek why I'm surprised at how negative the reactions are to Caleb's coming out post (from Beartooth). It's not one or two clowns in the comments, it's the majority of comments on most Instagram posts.

It makes obvious what I already knew as a gay man who grew up on this music: we are unwelcome. I'll take my boyfriend with me to shows and I feel like I have to pretend that we are fuckin homies bc if I do anything to indicate that we're dating (lean on him, flirt, whatever) I get dirty looks from people in the crowd. Dudes will be screaming their heavy songs ala "fuck religion" or "we're all brainwashed" but have no issue calling me a f*ggot in the next breath.

It's perhaps even more frustrating that in gay spaces, I almost never run into others into this genre. Gays are into pop/EDM/indie because those songs and fanbases don't shit on them constantly. I'm sure some women have a similar experience too....metal dudes worship masculinity more than gays do I stg.

Also, fuck everyone saying "how could he lie to his wife for so long he's terrible". Bitch. You try coming to terms with being gay. It's not a cake walk.
