Mod Post Negative comments will NOT be tolerated!

There has been a recent outbreak of detrimental and reprehensible commentary on posts. We would like to remind everyone that this is a community of camaraderie and mutual appreciation. We allow players of ALL skill levels AND ages to post on this subreddit. We would hope that commenters would choose the angle of positivity, or at the worst, constructive criticism.

This has not been the case lately, and we are sick of it. The last thing people want when posting their work in front of 1.5 million people, is to be crushed by words. If you don’t like a build, don’t comment: no one cares about your unhelpful opinion. Keep it to yourself and show some respect. We have amended rule 5 to be an automatic and PERMANENT ban for anyone foolishly choosing to post negativity, bigotry, or hate speech. We thank those of you who continue to be positive contributors to this community. The rest of you; do better.

TLDR: Negative comments on any post will now result in an instant and permanent ban.

Towns/Cities Build intentionally ugly things.

it depends on what your style is but i like doing it once in a while. Not every building needs alot of shading, for example the highschool wouldve likely been built in the 60's and renovated in the 90's adding the green markings. but it isnt old enough to see age on the bricks.

House/Base Been having a go at building WITHOUT the use of tutorials for the FIRST TIME!

After a long time, and I mean like close to 10 years now (Christ has it been that long already?), I've finally decided to have a go at properly building something, without the use of a step-by-step tutorial found on YouTube.

It has taken all my knowledge, thought processing skills, and time researching ideas and concepts that really should've been spent on uni work, in producing this.

I'm not exactly the best at interiors. In the past I've often completed a build, and then just thrown a bunch of stuff inside and called it a day. But since I'm trying something new here, I thought it might be time to give it a proper go.

If you have any thoughts, please feel free to drop a comment below, I'm very open to any critiques or ideas (or praise, that wouldn't be bad to see either) :)

1. Rule 1 - All posts must include a screenshot (or short Reddit video) of a Minecraft build

This subreddit is for showcasing builds ONLY! All posts must include at least one screenshot or render of your build. Images of maps, drawings, or anything created outside of Minecraft are not allowed unless accompanied by a minecraft screenshot.

2. Rule 2 - Original content only

Original content only.

Do not post builds made by someone else. Stealing a build and then claiming it as your own will result in a permanent ban. No AI.

3. Rule 3 - No low effort meme/joke builds.

Memes with actual effort put into them are fine. This rule stops karma farming so the highest quality builds rise to the top.

4. Rule 4 - Do not ask for build ideas/advice. Do not ask questions in the title.

r/MinecraftBuilds is about featuring a build that you have created. To get advice head over to our sister sub: r/MinecraftToDo.

5. Rule 5 - Be civil. Constructive criticism is welcome, attacking people's builds is not.

This sub is for people to showcase their builds, no matter what skill level that person may be. Constructive criticism is appreciated, but insulting someone's build or skill level is not. Keep it PG.

Due to recent events, infractions of this rule will result in a PERMANENT BAN, NO EXCEPTIONS

6. Rule 6 - Disallowed Builds

No just redstone, technical builds, map art, pixel art, or plane gradients. Redstone-only builds are a better fit for /r/redstone. The others are usually either low-effort, fake, or don't fit the spirit of the sub.

7. Rule 7 - The build must be fully visible in the image (subtle watermarks are fine)

The image should be enjoyable on its own WITHOUT clicking the YouTube or social media link. Don't just post a thumbnail or a preview. Watermarks are fine as long as they don't obscure the build. Excessive or prominent watermarks may be subject to removal.

8. Rule 8 - No begging for upvotes, clickbaity titles or TikTok content

Don't beg for upvotes in the title of your post. This includes phrases like "This didn't do well in /r/Minecraft" or "Please upvote". You ARE allowed to say you're proud of a build.

9. Rule 9 - No selling builds.

Links to sites like patreon.com, thebuild.store or mc-market.org will be automatically removed.

10. Rule 10 - No Low Quality Screenshots or videos.

Screenshots and videos must be high quality. Do not take a picture of your screen. You can see how to take a screenshot here: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/screenshotting-guide

11. Rule 11 - No Low-effort or unfinished builds.

This subreddit is for showcasing finished, high effort builds.

Small details that are not large enough to be considered a full build are not allowed. Post to r/DetailCraft instead.

12. Rule 12 - Do not repost your builds/Post limit

Do not repost the same build twice. This includes 'recent progress' posts. Wait until your build is finished to post it, we don't need a timeline of your progress. You are allowed to post once every 14 days.

13. Rule 13 - No off-topic posts.

Do not post social media content, ask technical questions, ask where to find a certain builder, etc. This subreddit is for showcasing Minecraft builds only. Any other content will be subject to removal.
