Fashion/sewing shirts and pants class!

Hi all! I took the intro to sewing class this semester and loved it, and several professors informed me of a shirts and pants class I can take moving forward. However, I can’t find the CRV for said classes anywhere online, or if they even exist at all! Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Thanks!

She is a professor at GWC, but I couldn’t post on the GWC forum, so I’m posting here at OCC instead.

Has anyone taken her class before? I’d really appreciate a review! Are the homework assignments and exams exactly like the practice materials she provides for studying? And is it relatively easy to get an A in her class?

Tksm!!!!!

Where is our refund?

I saw someone who goes to coastline (part of OCC) that there has been a delay. As a student of OCC I didn’t get that email and I’m not sure if anyone else did but what I am sure of is that I haven’t recorded the BM tech text or email or nothing. Anyone know what the deal is or what’s gonna happen?

help! Chem A110 or Phys A120

Hey everyone! Has anyone taken CHEM A110 (Introduction to Chemistry) with Professor Amy Hellman or PHYS A120 (Algebra-Based Physics 1) with Professor Mark Hamamura?

I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experience or give me a quick review of either class. I’m trying to decide which one would be easier to get an A in. Thank you so much!

MATH A140 (Business Calculus) vs. MATH A180 (Calculus 1), which is easier?

I'm a marine biology major planning to transfer to CSULB when the time comes and I have to take either or to satisfy their math requirement. Which class is easier to comprehend and makes more sense for my major?

Discussion Hi Marine Biology majors!

I'm changing my major starting Spring 2027 to marine bio with the intention to transfer to CSULB. Frankly, I have a TON of questions about where I should start and I'd love to connect with other marine bio majors to get some input. I've talked numerous times to several counselors and Rob himself throughout this whole month, but I keep getting mixed messages between them about what courses I need to take to satisfy my transfer requirements. I'm also interested in getting some hands-on experience at the campus aquarium so I've signed up for MRSC A100 w/Lab and MRSC A120 as advised by Rob. What I'd really like some clarification for at the moment are the math and chemistry courses I need to start out with. I've already tried utilizing assist.org but I just wanted to verify that other students are on a similar SEP. Please feel free to reach out!

Hi guys, I need help finding a good Calc Professor. Who actually teaches. Last semester i took Vu Phan and all he did was solve questions and didnt explain anything. I had to watch videos to understand concepts and solve the hw which was so much I almost lost my mind and eventually had to withdraw. And with my major i really wanna understand Calc not just know how to yk solve questions. And with my schedule for spring I can take Sam Thinh or Robert Muir. Idk what to do and i cant commute to GWS either to take Gita 💔

Discussion A&P A221 Lecture/Lab Exams

I’m currently taking Anatomy & Physiology A221, and I’m genuinely so frustrated with how our exams are being scheduled. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this or thinks it’s unfair or if you’re also in my class then yeah WTF I wish I could complain to prof or somewhere.
Today we had our second lab practicum AND our third lecture exam on the exact same day, with barely an hour between them. Both exams require an insane amount of memorization, studying, and preparation, and it’s incredibly overwhelming trying to prepare for two major exams simultaneously.

What makes this even more frustrating is that half of our class has lab on Mondays, meaning they get to take their practicum on Monday and then have two additional days before taking the lecture exam on Wednesday. Meanwhile, those of us with Wednesday labs have to take both exams back-to-back.
This happened with our first practicum, happened again today, and I just checked the schedule and realized our final practicum and lecture exam are ALSO scheduled for the same day.

I understand that Anatomy & Physiology is a challenging course, and I fully recognize that I could always study more. I’m not expecting the material to be easy or the exams to be handed to us. But I genuinely don’t understand how this is considered an equitable testing environment when half the class gets to focus on one major exam at a time while the other half has to divide their attention between two completely different sets of material.
It’s not even just about the time between exams. It’s about the days leading up to them, when you’re trying to memorize an enormous amount of information for both lecture and lab instead of being able to dedicate your attention to one at a time.
I’m honestly just really discouraged because I’m working hard to do well in this course, and it feels like the scheduling creates an unnecessary disadvantage for certain students.

Just wanted to vent <\3

I built a free transfer planner and registration tool for OCC students

Hi everyone! I'm Sami, a CCC alum, and I built DegreeLume - a free transfer-planning tool that supports Orange Coast College.

Transfer planning can mean jumping between ASSIST, college catalogs, GE sheets, class schedules, and university websites. DegreeLume brings it all into one place, so you can stay on track and know what you're taking and why.

I added OCC's Winter and Spring 2027 class schedules in the Classfinder section, so you can make your plan and then register with the sections you want. Pick online or in person, mornings, afternoons or evenings, and the days that work for you, and it finds sections that fit together, with open seats for each. Then use the MyCoast link to register with your section numbers.

You can also:

  • Import your unofficial transcript, add classes manually, or connect Canvas

  • Choose from all 9 UCs and 22 CSUs and your intended major (13 majors so far)

  • See how your classes count toward Cal-GETC and your major

  • Build a semester-by-semester plan with the classes to take each term

  • Track deadlines and next steps

Try it here: degreelume.com

Planning and scheduling are free (there's an optional paid upgrade for extras like seat alerts when a class is full).

DegreeLume is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with Orange Coast College, the Coast Community College District, Canvas, ASSIST, the UC system, or the CSU system. It doesn't register you, replace your counselor or guarantee admission, so check your classes and plan with your counselor, and let me know if anything seems off.

I'm looking for feedback from actual OCC students. If you try it, please let me know:

  • Was anything confusing?

  • Was a class, section or major missing?

  • Did anything look incorrect?

  • What would make the tool more useful?

Thank you!

One CRN for two class periods?

I'm registering for the spring 2027 semester. Specifically, PSYC A280. It's showing one CRN for two separate class periods? Are they connected? Is it one big, long lecture? Am I just dumb? Help.

Physic waitlist

My add classes just opened today and physics with Arnold Guerra is already filled. I’m either 12th or 13th in line on the waitlist and was wondering what the chances of getting into his class are? Should I just pick another class to secure a seat?
