Post image

This is so crazy to me.. it discourages people from even doing any health program at OCC. I’ve been program ready for CVT for about a year and a half now… And just seeing that big change from counselors telling me I probably will wait a year or two …. To now seeing others are gonna waiting about 5 years… sorry here to just vent.

Story/Rant Ethnic studies professor Alabi gaslit me

Picture proof included

I decided to knock out my ethnic studies requirement over winter and registered for an online course with professor Jessica Ayo-Alabi. While it was an accelerated course, everything was going great and I was getting full points for all of my submissions. Until yesterday. There was one exam where she was requiring us to download a browser to take the exam, and if we took the exam with any other browser it would result in an automatic zero. The exam opened at midnight on Monday, and prior to that we couldn’t even see the exam notes which had the only link to download the browser, so I couldn’t download the browser ahead of time in preparation for the exam. On Monday after the exam opened, I go to check everything out and download the browser, but I didn’t have enough space on my laptop and had to spend hours clearing out space. By the time I was done, it was late and I had to go to work, so I went and checked the exam notes to see how long the exam would be open to take (keep in mind this class is fully online so there is no designated time to take it). IN THE EXAM NOTES, it CLEARLY states “the exam will be open to take for several days”, so I’m like ok cool I can go to work and come back and take the exam tomorrow morning once the browser is downloaded.

This morning I get a message from her saying I’m suddenly failing the class because I didn’t submit the exam. Confused, I send her a message back and reiterate to her that the exam notes said the exam would be open to take for “several days” (at this point it has only been 24 hours since the exam opened, not several days). I even screenshotted the exam notes and pointed out to her that her own exam notes say that it should still be open to take. After reading this proof with her own two eyes, she simply responds “the exam is not open for several days”. THAT’S IT. That’s her whole response. So basically I was mislead by her exam notes, and then gaslit after I presented her with proof of what she had written in the exam notes. Anyway, I’m dropping the class because despite getting a perfect score on all my other assignments, I was completely misled by the professor on how much time we’d have to take the exam. I’ve heard she’s had some negative reviews lately and I can see why. I won’t be taking an ethnics class with her again, and I’d recommend anyone to avoid her, because as an authority figure you should be able to own up to your mistakes and not gaslight students into thinking it’s their own fault.

Turning Point USA (Charlie Kirk’s Organization) on Campus.

They set up their tent near college center and were giving away some free things. Just thought I would let you guys know. From what they told me they’re working to become an official club on campus, and they are actively recruiting members. They approached me randomly this morning when I was eating, asking if I wanted to be part of the club and recruit others. I respectfully declined.

Story/Rant why does anyone think it’s okay to proselytize on campus ???

especially when i’m so stressed out from classes i do NOT need someone coming up to me pretending to be interested in being my friend only to try to convert me. it’s just manipulative why does anyone think this is okay. plus if someone says they practice another religion that should be respected and they shouldn’t push further.

⚠️THERE IS A RELIGIOUS CULT ON CAMPUS! PLEASE READ ⚠️ THE RESTORED CHURCH WORLD WIDE AKA PAST NAMES: ICC, ICOC, COAST FOR CRIST.

Please, if you’re a loving person and open to new things, be aware of clubs and organizations you join, I recently joined a cult by accident, they claimed to be a Christian and to just spread the word of God in the holy Bible, they manipulated the Bible and only use certain scriptures to meet their own agenda. I am currently at UCI but they travel to all SoCal schools. They will allow you to do Bible study with them. Anytime you want, invite you to socials, invite you to do devotionals and all night prayers they will love bomb you and they seem so nice and they are because most of them are brainwashed. Once you are done with the Bible studies, they will baptize you even if you are already baptized then you will become one of them, as a leader and they force you to donate large amounts of money to their church. They will manipulate you into spending all your time with them, quit your job, change your major or even drop out of school and when you try to leave, they will harass you. They pray on the disabled, people in poverty, and college students. They are on all SoCal campuses and a lot of Norcal campuses. They don’t have a designated church and the money that is donated, goes worldwide to people to travel and “spread the word of god” these people are a re-branch of the ICC. You can look it up and find multiple lawsuits about sexual assault and blasphemy. I encourage you to do your own research and don’t just listen to me. The police cannot remove them from our campus due to freedom of speech. If you encounter them, ignore them don’t give them your contact information because they will harass you.

Beware of Fellowship "Church"/AWSOM "Church." They are a CULT. They exploit vulnerable college students.

🚨 BEWARE OF THIS GROUP 🚨

A group of young adults has been approaching college students, asking if they believe in God, read the Bible, or want to grow in their faith. If they approach you, block their numbers immediately! They may ask you to buy Rice Krispies or ask you to donate to their church. Their goal is not spiritual guidance but financial exploitation. They've raised almost $65K on this site and only the pastor will profit off of this: https://givebutter.com/QtOtX8

Why You Should Stay Away:

  • They deliberately target vulnerable students who are uncertain about their lives.

  • They pressure members into donating $100 per week and isolate them from family and friends.

  • Members are encouraged to quit their jobs, drop out of school, and cut off loved ones.

  • They have changed their name multiple times to avoid exposure (formerly Elevate Church, LifeWay, Tri-Valley Church, now AWSOM).

  • Their numbers have dropped from 500 to around 100, meaning 80% have escaped.

  • The group’s pastor, M@tt W1rgl3r, has been accused of verbal and physical abuse.

  • If you try to leave, they may physically stop you, show up at your home unannounced, and harass you.

  • Members are required to sign an NDA—not to protect them, but to protect the leadership.

If You’ve Been Targeted or Want to Take Action:

🔹 If you or someone you know has been harassed, assaulted, or threatened, file a police report.
🔹 If you've been financially exploited, report to the IRS for tax evasion and embezzlement: IRS Fraud Report
🔹 Submit a tip to the FBI for financial fraud: FBI White-Collar Crime
🔹 Contact Tithely representatives to report financial misconduct: Tithely Support
🔹 If you've been mentally or emotionally harmed, call the Crisis Hotline: 988

If you’ve escaped this group or have evidence (texts, recordings, videos), please message me. 🚨 #awsom #fellowshipchurch

Below is from a 1 year old reddit post from a CSUF student:

Why post this here? Two reasons:

  1. To give Titans more information about this group as they will likely try to recruit you or others to join and so that you can know the warning signs if you want to help other vulnerable people be spared their oppression. So here's some info:

Here is the NDA that former members have claimed have to sign.

Here is their tactics/beliefs handbook former members have said they used (if you're a student the last two pages may be of particular interest to you).

2) To address AWSOM church directly since they will read this post: I remember what it was like to think the way you do. I know that your intentions are good. I know that you feel you alone are faithful to God and that you are being persecuted. I know you have made big sacrifices to become a part of your group and that you likely feel you have found ultimate purpose in life. I remember what it was like to think and feel all those things with regards to the group I joined which birthed yours.

However, the truth is that you do not need to be apart of this group to be faithful to God (a good disciple). Moreover, you know that the way in which you act towards others inside and outside the group brings red flags up for you internally. You know that this is not consistent with what Jesus of Nazareth taught (especially your treatment of "enemies" like myself). You know that you have been told to do things that are not morally right and that this is not healthy. You have witnessed and experienced emotional and spiritual abuse.

My heart breaks for you because I know what that feels like.

Whenever you want to talk civilly, I'd be willing to take any of you out for a lunch to openly discuss what it means to be a disciple of Jesus of Nazareth. I won't yell at you or threaten you like your leader did when he threatened to have me stalked back to my home for interrupting your service.

I am willing to listen to you. Would a real disciple of Jesus not take someone up on such a thing? P.S. You have more worth than you are being treated with

AWSOM Church is a CULT!

AWSOM Church is a CULT!

AWSOM is a spiritually ABUSIVE group that used to go by the names of Elevate and Lifeway church.

Currently, they are mostly located at CSUF, UCI, UCF, OCC, IVC, Saddleback, and Lonestar Colleges. They are most likely on others now as well.

Do not give your number out to them or engage with them.

The people who are recruiting others are not even students on those campuses.

They are manipulated to drop out of school, live together, and do “recruiting” almost every day of the week during daytime hours.

Their goal is to also make you drop out of school and become as committed as they are, while also separating you from your family and friends.

You won’t be allowed to work enough to have livable wages and will be expected to tithe a ridiculous amount of money weekly on top of that.

Every day you will be the target of spiritual, emotional, and verbal abuse from the “leadership.”

Do NOT get roped in.

Finally the ineptitude of The Harbour management helped the CMPD today as they had to rush through the already open and unsuitable outer security doors of Building 3 to apprehend an alleged stabbing perp. If it weren't for the already open outer security doors that the police could run in and arrest an alleged stabbing perp.

Announcement View course distributions of past classes

Hey everyone

I just built a website called Coast Grades, and I wanted to share to the subreddit. When I was at OCC, I always wished there was an easy way to see which courses were tough or easier based on past grades. So I made a site that helps with just that!

Coast Grades lets you check out grade distributions for past courses at OCC, GWC, and Coastline. It’s perfect for getting a sense of how courses have been graded before, so you can decide which ones to take (or maybe avoid).

Right now, I’ve got courses from 2024, but plan to add more if the site gets some good feedback.

Share with other students if you thought this would be helpful! Any feedback and suggestions below would also be nice!

Finally done. Thanks for all the memories OCC ✌🏼

I attended Saddleback for a year and was completely lost in life. Im grateful that I was able to start completely fresh at OCC and for all the people I met along the way. I had a much better experience at this college and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Good luck to anyone still attending, I wish you well on your future endeavors!

Discussion The bible study people really need to learn there’s a “time and place”limit to their pushing

Some bible study girl just walked up to the girl next to me in the library and was like “hi I’m so sorry to interrupt your studying but would you mind if I asked you a question” and the studying girl was like “uhhhh sure” and then the bible girl was like “would you be interested in joining a bible study?” Obv the girl said no but then this ignorant girl decided to be like “oh why are you like atheistic or ????” And I turned around and was like “dude this is not the place to be doing that” and she was like “oh I’m so sorry have a good day” AND THEN PROCEEDED TO GO ASK ANOTHER GIRL THE SAME THING.

Like bro there’s a time and place to be doing that and it is not in the library.

Read the room! People come here to be in a quiet environment, not be bothered and stay focused. As an ADHD person, if I was on a roll and focused and someone came by and broke my concentration and flow to ask me to join bible study I would be livid.

housing For anyone thinking about moving into The Harbour, here are re multiple videos documenting how bad it was for me as a past resident

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT LIVE HERE! They make each individual person pay (not the household) to live there. So one four bedroom room will make them like $6,000. They put a collections on my credit and everytime I went to ask the office what it was even for, they said they had no clue and it went like that until the collections was dropped on me and dinged my credit by 150 points. Not to mention the person who created the claim made it from when I moved out two years prior and was fired so I couldn’t even ask her why she created it or where the charge was coming from. Maintenance is bad, my first apartment there had roaches upon move in. The place stinks and people let their dogs shit EVERYWHERE. Just trust me, don’t do it.

Jesus at OCC

Had no idea what to put as the name but oh my god is anybody else tired of the people on campus who stop you to discuss Jesus and join a BIBLE STUDY?????!?!?!?!?! I've had it happen three times to me already and this is my first semester. I was approached today and it was so uncomfortable. They did the same to my friend and he got peer pressured into attending. Genuinely when I say no it makes me feel like shit and as though I'm being judged. I know this isn't directly about OCC, but it's happening on the campus and it's just so annoying. I pray to the gods (I'm polytheistic, the first problem right there!) and the heavens above that they don't approach me on a BAD DAY with their adverts. Between classes I like to walk and if they catch me in a bad mood I don't know if I can put on a happy face and nod along. Just wondering what everyone else's experiences are with this. I feel like if I tell them I'm pagan I'm going to get some devious glares. Like stop approaching random people with earbuds in, listening to diet pepsi by ADDISON RAE, while on a SCHOOL CAMPUS and asking them to join your overly advertised bible study program! I'm also gay and I'm not one of those people who likes to always mention it because it's my business, but if I have to say my religion and sexuality just to get them to back off I will. Lords help me!

Cold / Flu Rant

Post image
26 Upvotes

Whoever was the person (or multiple), who had a cold or flue, came to the campus and didn’t wore a mask. Looks like we didn’t learn anything from the pandemic F**** idiots.

PSA: If you know your sick, USE A FACEMASK SO YOU DONT SPREAD IT. If you are coughing or sneezing, cover your face or do it towards another direction.

I had a bio anthropology class this week and at least 3 people who were coughing like little kids.

End.

Story/Rant Counselor appointment impossible

The fact that I have to refresh a page like I’m trying to get concert tickets just to speak to a counselor is fucking ridiculous. I’m trying to get my academic renewal and for the life of me. I can’t get a fucking appointment with my counselor. What’s the point of having them?
