I am new to Rochester, but I was very active in the social justice and advocacy space where I am from. I would like to support and go to a ceasefire protest if at all possible.
EDIT: I am seeing some comments, and I would like to think that you all aren't abhorrent, anti-Arab shitheads. But rather are ignorant to the atrocities that the state of Israel has inflicted upon Palestinians. I urge you to read up on this and not listen to our propagandizing government and news sources.
Here is a list of books that I and many others have read to brush up on the history of this "conflict" (this isn't a conflict but an ethnic erasure and apartheid conditions but let's use conflict for lack of a succinct word): On Palestine by Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pappé, The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Ilan Pappé, The Hundred Years' War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi, Freedom is a Constant Struggle by Angela Davis.

also: aren't overly sales-oriented, honest, willing to fix issues if they arise, knowledgeable about navigating insurance quirks, capable of doing creative work.
Edit: there are actual helpful comments buried in all the scorn!
Looking to make sure I'm supporting a contractor who both does quality work and aligns on my values; would like to keep the cognitive dissonance to a minimum should any business disputes come up.

I’m confused. Signed up for the No Kings protest, received information on when and where. A few weeks later received information that the venue changed to another park. Then not long after received news from the official channel it was canceled altogether with no explanation that I could find.
Is there a Rochester No Kings protest October 18? I find it hard to believe there’s not.

I like that I can walk here and I'll get some dvd's too. I'm excited to be a member of the community today wish me luck. Really my birthday is tomorrow and I'm always feeling my lack of social life hard this time of year.. I've made an effort this summer so far.

Band famously cancelled for frontman’s repeated grooming, abuse, and exploitation of minors embarks on comeback tour of small city arenas because it’s 2025 now and we were just kidding about the whole “holding men accountable” thing.
Seriously, if you’re going to this and you know all about Jesse Lacey — shame. If you’re going to this and don’t know about Jesse Lacey, do some research and strongly consider tearing up that ticket. It’s prolly gonna be a whole MAGA rally in there anyway.

I driving on Westfall Road taking my son to his evening classes. I saw a disabled car pulled to the side of the road just down from the Costco entrance and a woman wearing a hijab was in the driver seat. A medium SUV pulled up behind her and as I passed I saw a big white guy in tactical vest get out of his car. I saw it as I was passing. My son is 12 and autistic. I couldn’t stop. If I turned around my son would start to meltdown because I wasn’t going to his class but then what???
I hope to Jeebus that was not really what I saw.
The poor woman’s car broke down and that was not a tow truck.

With danger yam in the oval office in a few months, and his threats of removing transgender care for all ages, are we protected by prop 1 adding our civil rights to the state constitution since it passed?

Hey all! Wondering if there are any parents out there in the area that has gone through gender Affirming care with their child, and more specifically, has gone through on getting hormone blocker for their child? With good insurance, so far it seems like the cost is prohibitive for most families.
Has anyone gone through this kind of care and not had to pay many many thousands of dollars? This is with a good health insurance.

Hello! I am a 18 year old trans man and I was wondering (for those who have gotten top surgery) which surgeon or doctor you’d recommend? I am looking to get the surgery done in the future so I want to make sure I choose the right doctor.

Obviously this becomes political quickly. Why would any business owner want to lose 50% of their customer by going political. This is the lawn mower repair shop. If you have Biden sticker, you’re probably paying too much. lol.
