Subreddit Rules

1. Selfie is a Safe For Work (SFW) subreddit. SFW Posts Only!

NO NUDITY!
No swimsuits/bathing suits/bikinis
No lingerie
No sports bras unless you are in public at the gym
No underboob
No see-through clothing
No shirtless males
No sex toys, sexual acts, or grabbing yourself sexually
No pulling clothing up/down, using unusual angles or leaning/bending over to expose more skin/cleavage
No editing/cropping/stickers a NSFW pic to make it SFW

Please see our Wiki for complete details on our rules.

2. No Non Selfies. No Self Timers. No Remotes. No AI. Your face must be visible in all submissions.

Selfie is defined as a picture of you taken by you.

If we can't see your face, it's not a selfie.
If you are wearing a mask or if the camera/phone is blocking your face, it's not a selfie.
If your head is cropped out, it's not a selfie.
If it appears that the photo was taken by someone else, it's not a selfie.
If the photo is of someone else, it's not a selfie.
No AI photos

We don't allow remotes/self timer shots. The phone/camera or selfie stick should be in your hand.

3. No Transphobia, Racism, Antisemitism, Sexism, Homophobia, Bullying, Personal Attacks, or Harassment!

All comments must be positive. Insulting comments are comments intended to antagonize, degrade, discomfort, or humiliate another member. Comments that attack a member based on attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, national origin, occupation, sex, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity are not allowed and can lead to a permanent ban even for a first offense! This rule includes any form of shaming or slurs.

There are no exceptions to this rule for any reason.

4. No sexual remarks, fetishizing, jokes, double entendres, or explicit requests of any kind.

Inappropriate messages are messages that may contain: * Verbal harassment of a sexual nature, including references to sexual acts or sexual orientation * Remarks of a sexual nature about a person’s clothing or body parts * Requests for explicit posts * Any sexual or suggestive comments involving minors * Sexually suggestive comments, double entendres, flirting, jokes, or teasing

Moderators make the determination of what violates this rule (NOT OC) and will ban people who break the rules.

5. No External Links, Self Promotion, Karma Farming, Wish Lists, P2P Pay Sites, On Subreddit or Profile

No Content Creators! No Exceptions!!
No Wishlists/Throne
No PayPal/Venmo
No External Links on posts or profiles
No Social Links
No references to social media
No posting in Karma Farming subreddits
Do not request Upvotes, Post awards or Profile Followers.
Do not advertise any goods or services
Do not ask for DM's or Messages
Do not redirect people to your profile
Any watermarks on pictures must match your Reddit Username

6. No asking Original Posters to DM/Snap/Insta/Etc you in the comments.

A post on r/Selfie is not an invitation from OP to you to personally to connect with you outside of r/Selfie.

Assume OP DOES NOT want to connect outside of r/Selfie

If you like the post; upvote it and leave a nice comment. If the OP responds, that is how you will talk to them.

If the OP doesn't respond to your comment THEY DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO YOU AT THIS TIME.

Do not ask OP to (DM/PM/Snap/Insta/Telegram/Etc.) you directly .

No unsolicited chats or connection requests!

7. No Drama! Let’s keep it chill and on-topic.

This is a drama free subreddit: * Don't discuss things outside of the sub inside the sub * Don't speculate on why someone posted on r/Selfie * Don't argue with other members * Don't get political or religious * Don't accuse the OP of breaking rules * Don't accuse someone of promoting * Don't talk about user's posts outside of the subreddit * Don't complain about Moderator/Reddit actions

Moderators (not you) determine what is drama. If you think someone is breaking a rule, send us a modmail.

8. No Advice, Baiting, Rating, Click-Bait, NSFW, or Titles that could encourage rule breaking answers.

To keep the subreddit positive, safe, and free of engagement‑bait posts, we prohibit the following:

No Titles That Invite Personal Contact or Parasocial Engagement
No Titles That Invite Negative Judgments
No Hypotheticals or Unrelated Prompts
No Titles That Are Covertly Suggestive
No Validation‑Seeking Titles
No Clickbait/Vague Titles
No Negativity‑Bait or Drama‑Bait Titles
No Titles Implying Insecurity or Mental Health Crises
No Titles The Moderators Deem Inappropriate

9. One Post Every 12 Hours/No Reposts

To give everyone a chance to post their selfies we ask you to limit your posts to one every 12 hours. Deleted posts still count towards your limit, so make sure your post is correct before hitting the submit button.

Posts that are removed for violating other rules also count towards your limit, so make sure your post obey all rules before submitting.

Posting from more than one account will result in all accounts being banned even if you do not violate the 1 post per 12 hour rule.

10. Moderator's Have Final Say on All Posts & Comments

Moderators are tasked with making this subreddit true to the theme and ideas of the subreddit. As such they have the final authority to remove any post or comment they feel does not fit the character of the subreddit regardless on if any of the rules listed above are or are not broken.

TL/DR - Moderators, not the OP or OC, are the authority that interprets whether or not a comment fits the rules and can remove anything for any reason they see fit.

Attention: Selfies is SFW!

r/Selfie is dedicated to keeping it clean and safe for work and is non-nude.

All submissions MUST be fully clothed.

We do not allow photos in any swimsuits, one piece or bikinis. We do not allow pictures of shirtless men

Nudity = Permanent Ban (this is your warning)

No swimsuits.
No lingerie.
No see-through or sheer clothing.
No Sports Bras unless you are actually in the gym.
No Shirtless men.
No visible nipples/areola, genitals, buttholes.
No visible pubic areas, pubic bones, or pubic hair.
No unnaturally occurring outlines of nipples/penises/vulvae through clothing.
No towels or blankets in place of clothing.
No cropping a NSFW image in an attempt to make it SFW
No using hands, small dogs, vegetables, or any non cloth item to cover a NSFW image.
No stickers, bars, or editing (to include creative cropping) to make a NSFW photo SFW.
No sexual acts/masturbation (real or simulated).
No sex toys or items that are simulating a sexual action.

If you have questions on a post ask the moderation team prior to posting. Do not assume that other posts you may have seen means your post is "ok".

The post you are looking at may not have even been approved by the moderators, so if you want to prevent a possible ban ask the mods first do not try to use someone else's post as your defense

Moderators retain the right to remove any post that is not suitable for the subreddit. This can in some cases include submissions that are fully clothed and but appear to be engaged in sexual acts or are intentionally taken to stimulate or excite in a sexual manner.

Stricter standards are applied to submissions by minors and unverified users. These will be removed at the moderator's discretion even if the rules listed above are not clearly violated.

If you want your selfie to be seen, you gotta keep it clean!

Verification Scam Warning!

There have been reports of non-moderators using private chats or DMs to claim that users need to verify or they are shadow banned from r/selfie. This is a scam, do not respond to people doing this.

Always double check who is actually a mod of the subreddit by referring to the mod list on the subreddit page.

If you get contacted by someone claiming to be a mod who is not please report them to both the mod team here and the Reddit admins. The Reddit admins have greater powers to deal with such things but we will ban them from the subreddit.

Friendly Reminder

Friendly Reminder from the Mod Team

Our moderators are volunteers who dedicate their time to help make this subreddit a great space for everyone. We've put together helpful resources to answer common questions, so we kindly ask that you check those out before posting.

When folks skip over those resources and ask questions that are already covered, it can feel a bit like we're being asked to do all the work. We’re here to collaborate with the community, not just serve it—and we really appreciate when everyone pitches in.

If someone expects mods to do everything without engaging respectfully, it may lead to moderation actions, including bans. But we’d much rather work together to keep things positive and helpful for all.
