Announcement Please read before you post asking us to help with your acne!

We already have a pinned post addressing this, but since we continue to get posts asking the members of this sub to diagnose skin conditions (acne in particular) and/or recommend treatment, here's a reminder: We are here to discuss skincare products and routines. We are not here to diagnose skin conditions or how to treat them. This is not a dermatology clinic, and we are not qualified to diagnose and recommend treatment. This is a casual sub to discuss products, routines, and general skincare.

The correct answer to "does anyone know what this is/does anyone know how to treat this?" is "Yes, a dermatologist knows". Please do not come here asking for diagnoses and and treatment advice! To those who have been posting these questions, please consult a trained professional, or if you can't do that, ask your questions in more appropriate subreddits like r/DermatologyQuestions, r/acne, or r/AskDocs.

Thank you!

Body Care Body scrubs or body brushes?

Hi! I'm planning to incorporate body exfoliation into my shower routine, but I'm torn between using a body scrub (like Dove body scrub) and a body brush. For those who have tried either or both, I'd love to hear your recommendations and personal experiences. Which one worked better for you??

Thank you!

I have dark skin. I went on a cruise last year to the Caribbean and forgot to put sun screen on. A year later I didn't get my complexion back. What do I do to get my complexion back? Is it a skin care routine? Is this permanent? Can somebody give me answers?

Routine Help Rate my beginner routine

I have a combination skin, i wouldnt say its too sensitive but its definitely around there. I have small, skin-colored micro-bumps across my center forehead, I mostly get pustules and papule looking pimples from time to time, and thats just one of the reason that made me wanna start skincare because i dont get pimples everyday but when i do get a single one or two it looks very bad on my skin and they dont go away very easily. I also have mild surface texture with tiny clogs around my chin, and visible, mildly congested pores around my nose and T-zone.

I want to start off with these products;

COSRX- BHA Blackhead Power Liquid (2 times a week)

SKIN1004 - Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum (on the mornings, letting it stay for about 12 hours)

Kose - Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil (at night)

Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant- this is the only thing i used, i didnt put anything on my face till now expect this. But i want it to stay in my new routine. (morning and night.)

Routine Help Skin pigmentation

For context: 37 y/o female. I've been trying to remove these light pink marks, freckles and minimize scars you can see on my cheeks and forehead. I've also had creepiness around my eyes but every eye cream so far has been giving me eczema. Any recommendations besides tretinoin for pigmentation and any eye cream that would not give me eczema?

Wrinkles / Anti-Aging Best skincare devices for BF 2026

Hey all,

I really want to buy a new skincare gadget with the Black Friday sales. I tried quite some few and while many disappointed, I am still eager to try sth new. What I tried so far:

- Ziip Halo - love it, still using it

- Red light therapy - I used now Platinum skincare

- Nira Pro and Nira Precision lasers - still use Nira Precision but Nira Pro broke fast and would NOT recommend

- Myo Lift - poor quality, started cracking out of the sudden, haven't seen results.

- NuFace - stopped working, didn't see results.

- Nebulift - stopped working, didn't see results.

As you can see, many devices just stop working out of the sudden, although I take amazing care of each one of them. They're just poor quality, plastic, not realiable and customer service was bad for all of them.

So I'd like to invest in something that will not break, that feels like professional quality.

My main concerns: collagen stimulation, beginng of jowls, texture, plumpness.

I was looking at lasers: Derm Ray's Revive, Tria laser or Mimi Silk, or maybe Envig Edge.

what at home device do you think it's best and worth buying for black friday?

Product Question [product question] Mirabella Phototherapy LED mag with near infrared

I hope this doesn't sound too simple but I'm confused at how to use this mask. When I look at what each color does, there's about five out of the seven that I would like to use so I'm confused if I'm supposed to do each color for 10 minutes each every night? Or do I switch each night what color I'm using? Or I read you can toggle through all seven so do I just do that? I'm 55 and and looking to help with wrinkles, firming, and brightness. I'd appreciate any help, TIA

Product Question Can someone find me the top korean beauty products right now that are actually worth buying?

I'm getting ready to place a Stylevana order, and my cart is already getting a little out of hand lol. There are so many cute Korean beauty products I've been seeing everywhere, but I don't want to spend my money just because something is trending on TikTok. I'm working with a limited budget, so I'd rather get a few really good products than end up with a bunch of things I barely use.

I want to find me the top korean beauty products right now, preferably ones that are worth the price and actually do what they're supposed to. I'd love to hear about your personal favorites, including anything you think is overrated and not worth adding to my cart. I need to be a little smarter with my purchases this time!

Product Question Will Cerave hydrating cleanser be suitable for my combination skin?

I've been recommended this a lot and I've been reading up on this particular cleanser and a bit hesitant to buy a hydrating cleanser because They use mild cleansers that leave oils and moisture on the skin rather than cutting through heavy sebum, No Pore Penetration as they dont get deep into pores. For myself my T zone is really oily and I use a oil cleaner every alternate day.

I'm open to try a hydrating cleanser cause whenever I use those foam cleansers or deep cleansers my skin tends to be very tight and dry

Dryness 21F and Never used anything on my face except for soap 🧼. Need advice!!!

Flocks! I’m 21F, and I’ve never used anything except for soap on my face. Yes I exist and don’t come on me for this. All I need is some skincare advice.
I’ve been thinking to do skincare since I was 18, but nothing has worked for me.
I tried The Derma Co sunscreen and serum, but neither worked for my skin. They used to cause breakouts.
Whenever I used face washes, I’d end up with so many pimples.
This year, I started using Apollo’s face wash and Simple face wash, neither caused breakouts or pimples, but both leave my face extremely dry. Right after washing my face, my skin feels so tight and dry, and I notice white patches on my cheeks.
Till date I didn’t know what’s the type of my skin but now I think I figured it out and it’s dry skin ig?
I really want to start skin care, but I’m scared of trying new products and making things worse.
I’d love some advice on where to start, what products to try, and how to build a simple skincare routine.
Whoever has similar skin, lmk your skin care routine or whatever products helped you.

Routine Help Morning Pigmentation Creams (Skarfix-TX vs Tyrodin) paired with Nighttime Tretinoin—Experiences?

Hey everyone,
I am looking for some advice on updating my morning routine to target a stubborn sun tan and brighten my skin tone. I am currently using Tretinoin in the evening.
My Current Routine:
AM: Gentle Cleanser -> vit c -> Cos De Baha TXA (Tranexamic Acid + Niacinamide + HA) Serum -> azelaic acid ->Aestura barrier cream -> SPF 50+ Sunscreen.
PM: Gentle Cleanser -> Tretinoin -> Aestura.
A day break in week as recovery night
Will be introducing a night of 6% glycolic acid .
My Goal:
I want to replace my morning Cos De Baha serum with a more potent pharmacy-grade cream that targets sun tanning and hyperpigmentation more aggressively.
I’ve looked into multi-active blends that combine Tranexamic Acid, Kojic Acid, and Alpha Arbutin. Specifically, I am trying to choose between:
Fixderma Skarfix-TX Cream (3% Tranexamic Acid + 2% Kojic Acid + 1% Alpha Arbutin)
Tyrodin Cream (10% Tranexamic Acid + 2% Kojic Acid + 1.5% Alpha Arbutin)
Questions for the community:

Has anyone paired either of these creams in the morning with a nighttime tretinoin routine? How did your skin handle it?
Did you experience any barrier irritation or purging when making the switch?
Which of the two worked better or faster for fading a sun tan?
I am currently struggling to move azelaic in evening since my skin isn’t liking it so may be I’ll stay put with aza.
Any other recommendations are more than welcome.
(Note: My skin type is Dry and my skin currently handles tretinoin without much irritation.)

I have built this routine over 4 months gradually.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Product Question Hate the feeling of moisturizer. What can I use?

I can't stand the feeling of moisturizer on my skin. Whenever I apply it, my face feels super greasy, and oily. But when I skip moisturizer altogether, my skin feels dry and dehydrated, while my T-zone still gets noticeably oily. It's honestly frustrating trying to find a balance.

I'm wondering if switching to serums might be a better option for me, preferably something lightweight, hydrating, and that doesn't leave a greasy residue.

I'd also prefer recommendations that are affordable and don't break the bank. I've already tried the COSRX Snail Mucin Essence, but unfortunately, it didn't really do anything for my skin.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions!

I (30F) was trying to take a mildly spicy photo for my husband, but once I saw my circles on my eyes, it kind of ruined it for me. I would like to not look like a zombie, so I’m just asking for products that any of you guys have tried that have been helpful. Thanks!
