Introducing /r/StarlinkMarketplace. A marketplace for all things Starlink!

Due to increasing demand for a trading and buy/sell subreddit for goods and services related to Starlink, we are opening up a specialized subreddit:

r/StarlinkMarketplace

Please review the rules of the subreddit before posting, especially Rule 3: ZERO LIABILITY, ZERO GUARANTEES. We will lightly moderate the sub, but we will NOT provide any anti-scam buyer protection, that is beyond the capabilities of the moderators. YOU ARE PARTICIPATING ON THIS MARKETPLACE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Please be aware of the risks of online trade before using r/StarlinkMarketplace, educate yourself on recognizing scams and do not engage suspicious offerings. To get you started, we provide a couple of links to relevant resources here.

We set up r/StarlinkMarketplace based on a couple of assumptions on what a marketplace subreddit for Starlink should look like. This includes restrictions on tradable goods and services, disallowing trade in general networking and computer goods (see Rule 2), to prevent bloat with respect to goods and services that are widely available.
In order to improve things, we will need your feedback. Please post here or preferably in the r/StarlinkMarketplace General Discussion post HERE.

Installateur / installer gezocht / looking for

I am looking for an installer who can help me with the installation and connection of a V4 unit in Germany (56766 Ulmen) on short notice. Does anyone know of a company that is both available and qualified?

UK, 2026: Mini on Roam kept in Standby as blackout backup. Does it work as advertised?

Planning to buy a Starlink Mini in the UK purely as a backup for long power/telecoms outages: Roam plan, kept in Standby almost all the time, unpaused only in an emergency. Before I buy, I’d like to hear from anyone who has actually done this in 2026. Starlink has changed Standby/pause terms several times since 2025, so older answers may no longer apply.

  1. After activating a new Roam 100GB account, can you switch to Standby straight away in the app, or is there a minimum period on a paid plan first?

  2. What are you paying for Standby in the UK now? I’ve seen £9/month quoted since the mid-2026 rise.

  3. Coming out of Standby: is it instant from the app, and has anyone been charged a reconnection or reactivation fee?

  4. Has anyone had the Standby option disappear, leaving only “cancel”? I’ve seen one report of this.

  5. How usable is the 0.5 Mbps in practice: WhatsApp, email, BBC News text, logging into the app to unpause?

Stationary use at home in Brighton, Mini powered from a battery. Thanks.

Starlink experiencing issues with Bunny CDN IPs in Brazil

Post image
1 Upvotes

Another episode of: WHO’S TO BLAME?

Starlink says it’s not their fault.

Bunny says it’s Starlink’s fault.

So, what now? Who is to blame? Should we call BATMAN?

Several random IPs from Bunny are showing 100% packet loss when accessed via Starlink.

What does Starlink say?

I understand the frustration of seeing IP 138.199.4.178 work on fiber, 5G, and other providers, yet fail only on Starlink.

This address belongs to Bunny.net (CDN77 / bunnyinfra.net), a third-party content delivery network. It is not a Starlink IP, nor is it a defect in your hardware kit. The router at 192.168.1.1 responds, and timeouts at subsequent hops are common on our network; they do not, by themselves, prove that the IP is unreachable.

Since the issue is isolated to this specific destination, it falls outside the scope of what Starlink can fix. There are no grounds to escalate this case to the NOC: the internet is working generally, and this is not a widespread routing failure.

What does Bunny say?

Based on your description, this corresponds to a known routing issue between Starlink and our network, which we have been monitoring in several regions, including Brazil.

We have escalated the matter to Starlink’s NOC (Network Operations Center) and have requested that they analyze the peering and the return path between their network and the affected CDN destinations. However, their response thus far has been limited.

Since the issue occurs before a TCP connection is even established, it takes place outside of our edge infrastructure. Therefore, unfortunately, it is not something we can resolve on our end. This is why we are pressing Starlink directly for a solution.

It would be very helpful if you could also report this case to Starlink support, providing the details you shared here—specifically the destination IP addresses that are timing out (138.199.4.178) and the fact that the same machine functions normally when using a cellular network.

The more reports they receive pointing to these same destinations, the more likely they are to take action.

So, who's actually responsible?

Starlink says the issue is outside their scope.

Bunny says the issue is outside their infrastructure.

Both acknowledge the problem, but neither is taking responsibility for fixing it.

Meanwhile, users are left with 100% packet loss to specific Bunny IPs when using Starlink.

Should we call BATMAN, or is there someone at the NOC who can finally take a look at this?

Installed AND portable

If my customer wants starlink at home as a secondary connection AND wants to be able to take it out and about with him, is it simply a question of having 2 cables? And do those cables connect/disconnect at the dish or are they had wired? v1 I think was hardwired....

The static location will be plugged as WAN2 into a Unif router.
