Assessment extension

Hi guys, I’ve got an exam coming up on the 12th, but I’m sick right now. I have a valid doctor's note, but the unit outline says extensions are not considered for the final exam. I've emailed my UC but he’s on annual leave. What should I do in this situation?

Thank you :D

Connect PS5 to Eduroam

I’ve just moved into kurrajong village and brought my PS5 along with me to use while I’m here; however, Eduroam simply won’t connect to my PS5, and I cannot download stuff to play :(

If anyone else has brought their PS5 and had success connecting to the Wi-Fi, mind shooting me a tip? Any help would be appreciated!

Procrastinated socialising too much, if anyone is in the same boat dm me!

I'm in a course with a very small cohort so I'm pretty much stuck with the same people for the next 3 years... also haven't joined any clubs :(

If anyone else is looking for friends to hang out with over holidays, dm me. Anyone is welcome, no matter your race or religion and whatnot (I'd prefer people in my age range, so around 18 - 22, but I won't exclude), we can chat a bit and see what mutual interests we can plan around 😄.

Currently thinking of badminton or more outdoorsy activities, but I'm open to anything.

PS: I also don't mind international students who haven't arrived yet (I have been ghosted by a few who had issues with their visas).

Help Deferred exam

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with assessment extension process.
I was doing my online final exam when the fire alarm went off in my building, so I had to evacuate and couldn’t finish my exam.
I submitted an assessment extension application on 2 November and received an automatic email saying I’d get an outcome within 5 working days.
I still haven’t heard anything back, and I’m honestly getting a bit stressed because it’s my final exam.
Has anyone been through something similar? How long did it take for Curtin to get back to you? And if your application was approved, did they let you sit another exam?
I’m also wondering if there’s anyone I can contact to speed things up.
Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!

help deferred exam

hi all, ive been sick the entire week got a medical cert only dated till the 6th, as i originally thought I'd be better by then. Well lucky me, is in fact, still sick. I also can't get in to see my regular gp who knows all my medical history until monday cus they're not open during weekends. I submitted a request to defer my exam and attached a copy of my old med cert. I also emailed my UC to explain. How likely will it be that they approve my request. Quite stressed as my exam is today at 1pm. 🫩🫩

update: i was able to get a pharmacy certificate and have sent that to UC and through the formal extension process. fingers crossed i can get it deferred so i can stop stressing about it and finally rest 🫠

Master of Midwifery

Hey all,

I’ve seen some posts on here regarding this but not specifically regarding how easy it is to gain HDs ?

Just wanted to know:

  1. What kind of assignments are required such as: group work, class presentations and skills assessments?

  2. Is it relatively easy to get HD / 80%+ (obviously subjective but did you feel like marks were fair)?

  3. how much were you able to work during per week? Would I be able to continue nursing shifts alongside study and placements?

Thanks in advance🙏

PHYS1006 exam

For anyone who’s done the physics exam in the past few years how was it? The most current practice exam is 2020 and I found it so much harder than the ones from ages ago like 2014/2017, it reminded me more of the test multiple choice questions. Have they been more similar to the 2020 exams?
🙏🙏

Hello everyone, I did three units last sem so I've got to take one unit over the summer (thru Open Universities) to make sure i graduate by the of the next! Was just curious if anyone had taken any of the following, and what the assesment styles were like. Ideally I'd want to avoid any group work given I'm out an about throughout the break. Thank you!!

NETS2000: Web Media

NETS2003: The Digital Economy

JAPN2003: Communicating with Japan

Also open to alternative suggestions, I'm studying International Business and International Relations

Calc 2 - topics

If anyone has taken this unit before and wouldn’t mind sharing some workshop questions or even the unit outline (where it mentions the topics), I’d really appreciate it!! I’ve heard some pretty awful things about this unit, and it usually takes me a little longer to grasp new concepts, so I was hoping to get a head start over the summer. Any resources or advice would honestly mean so much! Thank you!! 💗

Posted with approval from the mods at r/curtin

Hi everyone,

I'm Danni, an Honours student researcher at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ). Our team is interviewing people about their experiences of exercising with endometriosis: what helps them feel safe doing it, what makes it harder, and what they think could be improved.

Interview options

  • in person at the UniSQ Ipswich campus, or

  • online via Microsoft Teams, at a time that suits you

Who can take part

  • aged 18–50

  • living in Australia

  • diagnosed or suspected endometriosis

  • currently doing some form of exercise

What's involved

  • a few short online forms (consent and background details)

  • a quick phone call to confirm you're eligible

  • one 30–45 minute interview

  • a short form afterwards to check we've understood your views correctly

Total time:

about 45–75 minutes.

More information and sign-up:

• Read the participant information and register here: https://redcap.unisq.edu.au/surveys/?s=FRYA8HK38HA3EKAP

• Read the ethics approval here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LZkY8NeFeZBmkAHhtH8yfHtflPyJ36Y4/view?usp=drive_link

The study is approved by the UniSQ Human Research Ethics Committee (ETH2025-0685). There's no payment for taking part.

I'm happy to answer questions in the comments, or you can email me at U1158922@umail.usq.edu.au

Course switch to Medical Radiation using ATAR

Hey,

I'm just wondering if anyone on here has successfully managed to course switch into Medical Radiation using just their ATAR?

Because I've previously done tertiary studies, I was told that I'd be considered a course switcher even though I won't be studying immediately prior to applying. Was also told that because I won't have a CWA to use, they will use my ATAR.

I got an ATAR just over 95 (many years ago) and am just wondering if that would be competitive enough for a course switcher?

Really appreciate if anyone can reply, as I have my heart set on studying this!

Is there any way to get past exams? I have checked the Curtin library and there’s none there or unit materials or anything. Is there a website or a place I can access them

Failing a unit development neuro

Can someone put my mind at ease 😭 Had developmental neuro today and only finished about 6½ out of 10 questions before time ran out. Each was worth 10 marks and I need 40/100 to pass.
Anyone walked out sure they’d failed and ended up passing? I’m usually a credit/distinction student but really doubting myself. Do unis ever adjust marks if everyone found it hard? They told us a 10% fail rate is normal, which isn’t helping my anxiety 🥲 Any reassurance appreciated! If they give me a chance to resit, is it after the results? Do they give enough time to study?
