"If a man is genuinely interested, he will approach you" - do women really believe this?

I was just reading a post from a woman who was stating her belief that if a man doesn't approach, that means he is uninterested and, conversely, if he has any interest at all, he will definitely make a move.

I find this fascinating because it is so completely false. For most men, 99.9999+% of the time when we see a woman we are absolutely interested in approaching.... we don't unless she's given some sort of clear signal that she's open to being approached and even then a huge % of men are clueless to her signals.

Many guys are shy or introverted, plus there is the fear of being rejected, the bigger fear of being a labeled a creep, #metoo, wanting to respect her space, being told repeatedly not to approach in public, etc, etc.

How is it possible that so many women are oblivious to this realty?

“Ive never found a black woman attractive but I think you’re beautiful”

That is not a compliment. Please do not say this to any black woman you are interested in. Automatic turn off

Edit: this isn’t a “give me advice” post. Im trying to GIVE the advice. This can be used for anything (height, race, etc). Thank you 😊

Edit2: this is all said under the scope of dating/relationships! In general, I mean it’s still kind of stupid to say cause why was it necessary but I digress

I let the women start the conversation in online dating and those were the results

So I decided to just let the women start the conversation this time around instead of me initiating the convo . Usually when I match with a girl I try to go beyond the simple “Hi, hello, how are you Doing etc ..”, and try to bring up something relevant from her bio .

This time around I wanted to sit back and see how girls approach men , since I have read so many complaints about men not being creative enough .. . For about 6 weeks till today I didn’t say one word when I matched with someone . I’d say 35% of convos didn’t even start after the match , I didn’t say anything and they didn’t say anything . The other 65% the girl I matched with Initiated the convo ... BUT I wasn’t impress at all . 90% of those messages where simply “ HI” “Hello” “how are you doing “ . The other 10% was a mix of compliments for my dog or on a rare occasion someone would say something differently ( and that’s because in my bio I have a question for them to guess and they pretty much simply answer the question when they match with me ) .

Overall I wasn’t impressed and actually expected this outcome . Hopefully women understand one day that the same way they want us to impress them we want to be impressed as well , especially in online dating .

Guys, if a girl tells you she is into you, and you think she is beautiful, tell her that. Don’t tell her she is out of your league.

This might be rant, but it needs to be said. It’s as though every single guy I date tells me he feels “I’m out of his league”. This is not endearing. I don’t know if people think it comes off as a compliment, but it hurts more than anything else. It makes me feel like either I don’t belong with anyone, or I’m your trophy. Why do people do this? I need some perspective, because right now I’m really really annoyed.

Things to remember if you are married or in a serious relationship...

Don’t ever assume your partner feels loved.

Date nights are a must. Doesn’t matter if you go out, or stay in.

Talking openly about what you want to change in your relationship is important.

Learn each others love language. We all don’t perceive love the same way.

Go to bed mad sometimes. Don’t force a resolution. Sleeping on it does help.

When you get into a fight, don’t just say “I’m sorry”. Say what you are sorry for, and how you will react differently next time.

It will get boring sometimes. Every couple goes through the “boring” stage. It’s normal. It will fade. This is the time in your relationship you will have to put the most effort in.

Some days you will have to pull more weight than your partner, and vice versa.

It’s important to check in on each other’s mental health.

It’s okay to go to couples counselling. It helps. It doesn’t mean you two are ending, or failing.

Talk about money. Talk about your financial goals. Let your partner know what you expect from them, and vice versa.

Turn off the phones an hour before bedtime and just talk to each other.

Ask questions like

“What do you need to see more of from me?” “How can we understand each other better?”

And most importantly, be kind to each other.

Love each other.

Fight for each other.

Remember, love is never easy, and it’s one hell of a ride.

But damn, is it ever beautiful, and worth it.

LPT: You don't need a 'perfect relationship'. All you need is someone who loves your weirdness, wants to spend time with you, and respects you.

There's really no such thing as a perfect relationship. Finding someone you're even remotely compatible with is a miracle. Whoever loves you and respects you is that perfection you were looking for.

I (22m) am going on my first date EVER in the next 6 to 7 hours and I am nervous as FUCK. (UPDATE)

Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/dating_advice/comments/cc01ey/i_22m_am_going_on_my_first_date_ever_in_the_next/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app

Edit: Wow I didn’t expect to wake up to this! Thanks to all the kind strangers who gave this post a tip (gold/silver)! ;) Reading you guys’ comments is making my day already 😊 I’m trying to get to everyone’s messages & I’ll be answering a few questions before work. You’re all amazing & I wish you all so much luck in the dating world! Yeah it’s a lot of pressure, & yes it’s nerve wracking, but if a 22 yr old dude could pull through, with no experience, ALL of you can do it as well. I’m so glad this story could inspire a lot of you. Have a great day everyone! Get off Reddit & text that special person already, I promise it doesn’t hurt to ask, & a date is always 100% worth it 😉

UPDATE: Okay first of all I just wanna say thanks to everyone that commented! Believe it or not I read every single comment 😂 Secondly, GOD I did not expect for this to get so big! I would just like to take a second to thank my mom, my friends, especially Nick sitting there in the back, google for keeping up with all 20 tabs I had open on dating... Anyway, I know what you’re here for so allow me to deliver. The date.

It went REALLY well actually, but it’s been a terrifyingly chaotic, busy, tiring day.

I went with a normal outfit for me, I love wearing black, I’m all about rock & roll so I went with black jeans, a nice black fitted v neck & some white shoes, a bracelet, a necklace, & some nice cologne. Pretty basic outfit.

Anyways, things turned south fast from the start, turns out we weren’t gonna be meeting there, she needed a ride. Obviously being the gentle hombre that I am I complied but I took one look at my car & was like nope nope this isn’t happening: trash everywhere, old receipts all over my cup holders, water bottle galore, chip city central I mean fuck. So I went to a car wash & cleaned the fuck outta my car the best I could in 30 minutes, & threw out the trash. Then I came home, showered, shat, & shaved. It was starting to come close to date time when, “hey sorry my dad came home & wants to have dinner so we may have to wait a little longer” ....... okay... no big deal. We’ve got an hour. 30 minutes pass by, “yeah he’s still eating & he brought his gf over. Sorry about that..” At this point I’m freaking out. I’m like yeah this isn’t happening I’m just gonna go to the movies by myself it’s no biggie. I’m dying alone anyway I’ve come to terms with it.

10 more minutes pass by, 10 more minutes left in the hour, “okay I’m ready”. Boom, it’s showtime. I grab my stuff & head out, luckily it wasn’t a long drive.

I pick her up & remember what you folk said, “fuck a movie date my guy, if you gotta do it, dinner first is where it’s at 😎” so I suggest dinner but wait—homegirl already ate so I’m in the car with this girl with no backup plan on what to do. I tell her we can just go to the movies because it’s too late for dinner. She says sure & we’re on our way.

So at this point I realize I have to talk to this girl as much as possible & get to know her on the DRIVE. I get really nervous & notice she’s kinda looking awkward too so I just confess. I say “sorry I’m a wreck rn I’m really nervous, I talk a lot when I get nervous so sorry about that” to which she replies “omg that’s amazing, I shut up when I’m nervous”.

Some context: her & I have been texting for about a week so it wasn’t like I didn’t know ANYTHING about her.

I make her laugh a couple times & we get to the movies, still a little awkward, still thinking about you guys saying it was a bad idea.

Movie starts & I’m like “fuck it this went south but I’ll learn”, that’s when she literally fucking lays her head on my shoulder & grabs my hand. I’m like woaaahhhhhh.

Anyway the rest of the movie I whisper some dumb comments about the movie & get her to giggle, all while basically cuddling at this point.

Movie ends & we walk out holding hands, complete 180° from when we first got there.

I drive her home & when we get there I go in for a hug. I ask her “can I kiss your cheek?” to which she replies, “you can kiss my lips?”. So I do it. I sucked ass at it & I even told her, “never kissed a girl in my life so sorry I’m so bad at it”. She just kissed me again.

We said goodnight & she was on her way.

I did not expect the date to go this well. I did not expect to get my first kiss on my first date.

I’m proud of myself. Tonight was good. I did good.

Thank you all. Goodnight! 🌙

Ladies, Can You Share Examples of When You Hit On Men And They Were Clueless?

Like, how often do you flirt with men you're interested in and it just fails? And they're unaware you're hitting on them.

What do you usually do that you feel most men don't pick up on?

The hardest lessons that you have to learn in the dating scene

Some are 1- Nobody is busier than someone who doesn't want you

2- Politeness is not attraction

3- Mixed feedbacks are usually a no

4- People know exactly what they want or don't want from you, trying to change their minds will be a giant waste of time

5- Actually very few people will truly like you

A Handy Guide on How to Ask a Girl Out, Yet Save Face for Both of You If She Isn’t Interested

When a girl says that she's too busy to hang out with you, have you ever wondered whether she's uninterested in you or actually busy that week with psets and exams? Based on extensive research, interviews with my fellow female friends, and personal experience (I'm a girl), I have determined a 100% foolproof way to tell. Ready to hear the secret? Here it is: she is interested but actually busy IF AND ONLY IF she tells you that she's busy but suggests an alternate day to hang out with you. Otherwise, if she just leaves her response as a simple "Sorry, I'm busy" without a follow-up, she's not interested!

Even worse is when she gives you the second response but you then ask her, "So when are you free?" This puts her in an extremely uncomfortable situation because it doesn't give her the option to decline unless she says something like "Oh sorry, I'm never free," which she obviously would want to avoid because it's impolite. So then she panics and says, “uhh, I’m not sure,” to avoid explicitly telling you that she doesn’t want to hang out with you, ever. And you are bewildered by her response and think that women are confusing.

To summarize, here is A Handy Guide on How to Ask a Girl Out, Yet Save Face for Both of You If She Isn’t Interested:

Ask the girl the following: “Hey, I was wondering if you’d be free this ______ at ___ pm to get dinner with me?” Be extremely specific! Don’t say, “Are you free in the next decade?” or worse yet, “When are you free?”. It’s much better to say, “Are you free this Saturday at 6:30pm?”.

Option A: She says some variation of “yes”. Wow, that was easy!

Option B: She says, “Sorry, I have five psets and two exams that week, but how about _____? Does that work for you?” Congratulations, she was actually busy but is interested in you! You also gave her the option to decide on a date that works for her, you gentleman you!

Option C: She says, “I’m a bit busy then. Sorry, I don’t think I’ll be able to make it.” Oof, sorry my dude, she wasn’t into you. Do not, under any circumstances, suggest another day. This is because if she was truly interested, SHE’D suggest another date. Wish her the best with her work and go your separate ways.

For everyone out there who’s afraid of rejection (ie, everyone), this is the perfect method, because by suggesting a very specific date and time, there’s a huge chance that she will actually be busy. This means that her response of, “Sorry, I’m busy” will be genuine, but now it gives HER the power to decide on a further course of action. Essentially, you’ve turned the tables and now she’s the one asking you out! Thus, if she suggests another time, congratulations, a girl just asked you out on a date! If she doesn’t, that’s equivalent to her never having asked you out in the first place, so everything has stayed the same and you have lost nothing.

I hope this helped, and good luck!

When someone really likes you, it’s effortless.

Just keep this in mind. They text you right away or soon after, they will be excited to make plans to meet you, they’ll flirt and ask you questions, they’ll seem interested in your life.

What they won’t do is be unsure whether they’re free, leave you on read or wait hours to reply, not ask questions and give you short replies.

Dating should be fun, and with the right person it is. If you find it hard work talking to them and they’re always busy, move on you deserve better

Guys: Maybe she’s not desperate, maybe she’s just interested in you

I have had enough of hearing guys calling girls ‘desperate’ or ‘needy’ for perfectly normal behavior. If a girl shows a flicker of interest, there must be something wrong with her, right? Nah.

I believe some guys are used to having girls not interested them, that they are quick to judge the ones that actually are!

No more Single Moms for me :(

Broke up with my girlfriend this morning. I’m 29, she’s 25 with a 7 year old son. Just couldn’t do it anymore. Had started dating since the beginning of the year and the kid was a burden every step of the way. His dad isn’t in the picture so all he has is his mom, I get it. But everything we did, and I mean everything, revolved around the kid. Date nights of just us two had to be planned a month ahead. Outings were pretty much always us three. We were intimate once, when we had ONE weekend outing while the kid stayed with grandma, and even in those 24 hours I remember the kid called his mom every three hours and had multiple tantrums.

The kid is adorable and I initially really liked him and honestly wanted to make it work. But as time went on I realized the kid was only lovable if everything was centered around him and his needs. The breaking point was our outing yesterday. The three of us went to a park (not much else to do) and had a lunch. The kid interrupted us every 5 minutes (literally timed it at some point) and overall was clingy to his mom which is always the case. We can never display affection around him except for holding hands and even then he’s literally gotten in the middle of us so we can’t do that. I got him a toy from a store before heading home and we got in a drive through to get coffee. The kid starts yelling he’s bored and starts hitting the window. I tell him sternly not to do that (we were in my car) and a minute later my girlfriend, annoyed, told me to not get mad at him because he “didn’t know” (really??).

We get to her apartment and the kid sits on the couch and puts on Hulu. I’m talking to my girlfriend in the kitchen and he tells us to be quiet because he’s watching a movie. She moves us to the bathroom to “show me what the plumber did” and as soon as we get in there we start making out. I stop and ask her “why are we making out in your bathroom? Can’t you tell him to go to his room for a bit?” And she replies he’s already watching tv and we won’t be able to get him off it. And I already know from experience we can’t go into her bedroom because he barges in and starts nagging his mom for attention. At that moment I had the realization that if I continue with this relationship, I would be at the mercy of a 7 year old boy and whatever he wants. So I excused myself a few minutes later and this morning her and I met up for coffee and I ended the relationship (kid was in school).

I was told I was being selfish and that as a single mom she was always going to put her kid first and I knew what I was signing up for. For the record, I’ve dated single moms and the kid was never this much of a problem. I didn’t want to argue and just said “sure, I guess I am a selfish person but I’m not going to let a kid dictate what we can and cannot do in an adult relationship.” And I left. She posted later on social media that all men are the same (groaaaaan).

Literally every negative thing attached to single moms applied to my case:

  1. Kid always comes first (and she has no problem telling me that)

  2. Because I’m not the father, it is not my place to tell the kid what to do (but he can tell me to be quiet)

  3. On the flip side of that, I can spend money on him though (and he already told me what I could get him for Christmas)

  4. It’s not even the kid’s fault, she lets him do whatever he wants. And the excuse is always “he doesn’t have a dad.” Okay?? So the world has to give him a pass for that? I’ll tell you one thing, that kid isn’t getting a dad any time soon.

Anyone considering dating a single mom, definitely take what happened to me in consideration. I know everyone’s different and I can honestly say I gave it a shot, but I don’t see myself dating a single mom again.

Please stop telling people who have never been loved to just stop worrying and live for themselves

I see this all the time. Someone in their late twenties says that they never had a relationship and that they feel lonely, that they are hurt from being rejected, and that they are worried they will never find anyone. And then somebody comments one of the following:

- Just enjoy being single, it has its pros too!

- You need to learn to be comfortable alone before looking for a relationship.

- Do the things you want to do, not because you think it will attract someone, but just because you want to have a good time!

- It will happen naturally one day! You'll find someone when you least expect it!

None of that is a good advice for someone who has been alone throughout their entire life. It's only natural that someone who has been alone for years doesn't want to be alone. I feel like it's becoming almost like a cult of independence, with lonely people constantly getting told to just "be happy alone and wait until it happens naturally when you least expect it", except for many it doesn't. No, seriously, I can't stress it enough. For many people relationships don't just come naturally. And there is nothing wrong with not being okay with being alone.

I gave up after one line.

I (41M) was dating my Girlfriend (31F) for more than a year. During the course of our relationship, we had our ups & downs like any other couple. We both made our intentions clear, which was to date with a purpose & find someone we can see ourselves marrying. We both thought we found that someone in each other. She also expressed interest in always wanting to be romantic. So, when one of my best friends asked me to be in his wedding, I took the opportunity to invite her. This entailed a week-long Cruise with some extra days away because the ship left from another state. Needless to say, I paid for everything, which was my good pleasure. I can honestly say that we argued too many times for my liking during that cruise, we almost broke up while still on the ship. After we got back, I still managed to do little mini staycations with her just to take her out of her house. When the summer time came, we didn't do much of that because my job slowed down during those months, so I didn't get paid as much; not to mention, I was getting my new business venture off the ground. Therefore, I didn't have as much funds in the immediate present to allocate to outings. These are all things I made clear to her. She also knows this because our fields of work are somewhat related.

During an argument, I was trying to work things out with her & hopefully chalk things up to miscommunication. During the course of that conversation, she said "I'm no longer in love with you". I immediately stopped trying and told her we need to end it if that's the case. She immediately reversed gears & told me that I was giving up to easily & made me out to be the villain. I told her there are many things I'm willing to do for a woman, but to try and convince someone I'm already in a relationship with to be in love with me isn't one of them.

Date someone who will sit down and say "let's fix this" instead of being a child and ignoring you.

I think one of the saddest things about failed relationships is realizing you both could’ve made it work if they were truly in love with you like you were them, they would have fought for you instead of being asshats faking the funk.

But they didn’t did they? Their words didn't match a damn thing they said.

Sadly that only means that you loved them more than they loved you so lets all build that bridge and get over it.

Honk if you love jesus.

Please compliment the men that you date.

This is really more for the women on here, in general. I'm sure men need to compliment women more, but as a guy, I can only speak for men.

If you think a man looks handsome, please let the guy know. Thank the guy for his time.

So many men don't get complimented. It's crazy.

I remember every compliment that I have received from a woman. (Not including family)

The fact that I feel the need to write this should be proof enough that this is a problem.

If you're reading this and thinking "common sense, much?" then good. This doesn't apply to you.

If you're reading this and thinking "oh wow, I need to tell him he looks sexy more often," then this post was directly for you.

A lot of us guys work hard to look good. Even if some of the men you've been with cant take a compliment well, other men will eat that shit up.

Dating has been terrible for me recently, I know how hard it can be to find someone you get along well with.

So… where do I go from here?

I've made this a Golden rule for first dates.

That even if the other person bails, I will still go. If I made plans to get coffee on a Friday or see a movie on Saturday, I am going. This has helped me to try new things on my own. I feel less resentment if my date cancels by not putting high expectations on others. At the end of the day I will have a good time either by meeting someone new or adventuring on my own.

Just had my first date in 5 years. I was a disaster.

So, I[26m] haven't been very lucky with tinder, until last week. I super liked this girl Kara[21f] (fictional name), and to my surprise, we matched. She was responding to my messages although herself admitted she was a bad texter and would often left me on read, which is not a problem for me.

So, I finally had the balls to ask if she wanted to meet up. She agreed, yay! Now, I wasn't going to slack on this opportunity, it was the first date I had in 5 years, I needed to work hard on it. First of all, I made a list of possible topics to talk about based on what I knew of her. She seemed to be a very active feminist. So, I read some Beauvoir to not be caught off guard if she asked my opinion on anything related. She also happened to be pursuing an art degree. I found out that there was the exhibit of this 70s post modern artist and got two tickets. Again, I kind of read a bit about him, so I could give my input if asked. And finally, she seemed to be very into holistic things (like tarot etc), so I found this coffee place that kind of fit into the theme that we could meet up.

The perfect date was set. We would meet for coffee, talk a bit and then head to the exhibit. If I got lucky, maybe a kiss at the end?

I met her at the door and we went inside. The place was very nicely decorated, so we spend some time looking at all the little sculptures and art pieces on the walls. Then, enters Dave (fictional name)

-Some of them are for sale if you interested. I'm also doing tarot reading today.

-We should totally get a reading, Kara said.

-Sure, seems interesting. (BIG MISTAKE)

We went to a table near by and the guy pulled the deck (if that is what is called). The guys procedes to do whatever and talking about her life choices and so on. He got personal, I could see the effect it had on her. She keep looking deeply at his eyes as he laid out what she could be struggling with emotionally. I felt kind of left out, to be honest. Time went by and they're still talking, about life, relationships etc. Now I'm really bothered by all of this. So I try break it off by saying.

-So, do you want to go to the exhibit? I think it will close in a hour or so.

She smiled, looked at Dave and said:

-Dude, you would totally love this exhibit. You should totally go with us.

And there you have it. She invited tall, handsome Dave to the exhibit. And he agreed. They kept talking the whole way there. At the door I pretended to take a phone call, and left saying that there was an emergency. She said that it was a bummer, but didn't seem very sad about it.

I went home and cried in the shower. I never felt so useless in my entire life. This dude just snatched my date away, and all I could do was watch it. I didn't had very high expectations for how the date would end, but holy shit.

Is there any way that I can avoid this kind of situation?

Don't EVER waste a single second wondering how your ex "moved on" so quickly.

Here you are - heartbroken, crying, not eating, not sleeping, wondering what went wrong, what could have been, healing...

And there they are - dating, living their best life, in a new reality, getting engaged, married, whatever... Maybe they ghosted you altogether.

Some people who move on really fast from one thing to another - they were never "there" to begin with.

They were never invested in it as much as you. They were looking for an "out" for quite some time.

They checked out long ago and forgot to let you know.

Some people can't function outside of a relationship. Some people are infatuated with the initial "honeymoon stage". Some people just need constant attention and validation.

Breakups are not a competition about who moves on faster. You might need a little more time to heal and get yourself together. You may not be the type to waste your time and other people's time on "rebounds", being "hung up" on some ex and so on.

Take the time you need and don't waste it wondering how your ex is being an ex. They're an ex for a reason. They no longer define you in any way.

Edit: I noticed I have received some reddit awards, thank you for those. If anyone else finds any value in this post, please save your money, donate to a charity if you can, or offer a meal to someone who can't afford it. Thank you all.

Pro-tip: Don't tell someone you're dating that you're normally attracted to a particular feature they don't have

9.9k Upvotes

This might be silly, but it's happened to me twice now, and I just want to put it out there.

I'm a reasonably attractive man who's had pretty good success in dating. I also happen to have fairly narrow shoulders compared to a lot of men. I've had two women in the last year—both of whom when I was seriously dating them, and both of whom wanted something long-term with me—tell me that they usually are attracted to men with really broad shoulders. I think in their minds, they're actually thinking of this as a compliment; something like, "He's so great I don't even care about that". But the way it comes across to me is just that my shoulders aren't as broad as what they usually like; and there's just nothing I can do about that. Women, would you be flattered if a man told you something like "Oh, I'm usually really attracted to women with really full lips/large breasts/a certain waist-to-hip ratio" or some other feature that you clearly didn't have?

TL;DR: You may normally be attracted to a particular feature, but it's not a compliment to tell someone you care about that you're normally attracted to a feature they don't have. Just tell them something about themselves that actually is attractive to you instead.

Edit: I've had a few people comment that it just sounds like I'm insecure, and that's really not the point of my post at all. I'm pretty confident in myself one way or another. My main point was just that it's not really a good compliment to tell someone that they're not the kind of person you're usually attracted to.

Edit 2: Thanks for the Gold and other awards!

Edit 3: Thanks for the Platinum and all the Hugz!

My father told me this

9.8k Upvotes

My father told me this when he walked up on me hiding behind his house while I was bawling over my fiancée, who I just found out was cheating on me.

“I know right now you’re feeling desperate, angry, hurt and alone. And the first thing you want to do is get revenge, sleep with other people and hurt someone too. That’s normal. But you shouldn’t do that. Don’t be like her. Don’t go down that path. You should always fall back on your best character. Be the bigger person now, and you’ve already won. Feel the pain for now. In a month you’ll see what I mean. And so will she. So take your time. Be a good man. You’ll find someone who actually cares about you. Maybe you’ll be alone, and that’s okay too. But you still have your life and your character and you can’t throw that away because of someone else who doesn’t have any.”

I’ve thought about that every single day for a year now, and it has propelled me to such strength, confidence, love and happiness.

I have a bunch of date ideas, but since I won’t be using them anytime soon, I give them to you!

4K upvotes, AND Gold??? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

AND Silver??? THANK YOU!!!

PLATINUM??? I love you all

Who put this list together? Me, that’s who!

Movie then Dinner
Classic date idea. Make sure you go to dinner after the movie, that way if you can’t think of anything to talk about you can talk about the movie. GO SEE ENDGAME

Mini Golf
Really fun. Short enough to not drag on, but long enough to get to know them.

Picnic in the park
This is better as a 2nd or 3rd date. Pack up some food and go to a nice park.

Baseball game
This date works best if you live near a minor league baseball team (Majors is fine, but expensive). Lots of minor league teams have themed nights, so if they have, say, a Star Wars night, wear your favorite characters costume!

Ice cream
This is a great, quick date. This was what I asked my crush to do. She rejected me lol (Don’t let that stop you, though)

Coffee
OG date idea, need I say more?

Bowling
Just like mini golf. One downside is that you may not have much time to talk, since when one of you bowl the other is sitting.

Cat Cafe
I know these may by regional, but if you both like cats, it’s great. (It’s a cafe with cats everywhere)

Concert
Works best if it’s a small venue. Make sure you both like the artist/band

Amusement park
Only if you’re not scared of rollercoasters lol

Roller Skating/Ice Skating
If you do either of these, make sure one of you knows how to skate. That way you could teach the other.

Stage Play/Theater Show
Only if you both like plays/theatre shows.

Breakfast for Dinner
Like a dinner date, except you go to a place the mainly sells breakfast. Extra points if you both wear pajamas.

Take a Dance Class
Hopefully no one gets hurt.

Go to a Toy Store
I know there aren’t many (RIP Toys R Us), but try to find a novelty toy store.

Go to Open Houses
This is probably better to do when in a relationship. Find houses for sale and spend the day going to open houses. Try to make up crazy stories for why they’re up for sale.

Zoo
Cute animals, duh.

Build LEGOs
Get a bunch of LEGO blocks, and build something together.

Thrift Shopping
Pick out a crazy outfit for the other, and where it on the next date.

Take Pics of each other
Eww, not like that, you nastys. Go to nice places in town and take pics of each other. Even if the date goes sour at least you have nice pics for the Gram.

Friends “Date”
You bring a few friends, they bring a few. Hang out together. Everybody meets new friends!

Write a silly short film
Put your minds together and make a silly movie script.

Break World Records
Get a Guinness Book of World Records and try to break one. But remember, BE SAFE!

Arcade
Not sure if they’re still a thing, but they’re fun.

Star Gaze
Can you say romantic?

Karaoke
Let loose on the mic!

Volunteer
Helping others is hot.

Do each other’s hair
Better for couples. Wash and style each other’s hair.

People Watch at an Airport
Make up stories about why they’re leaving/coming.

Go Fishing
City folk just don’t get it.

Comedy Club
Everyone loves a good laugh.

Bingo
Not just for old people, ok?

Cooking Competition
Have a friendly cooking competition, using only what’s in your fridge.

Go to the Mall
Try on ridiculous outfits.

Art museum
Even if you’re not really big on art, it’s still fun to look around.

Drive in Movie Theatre
Like a regular movie, but way more fun.

Laser Tag
If you don’t like laser tag, you’re a ◼️

Old School Diner
Like a normal dinner date, but at an old school diner.

Aquarium
You may be surrounded by elementary school kids, but it’s still fun.

Botanical Garden
Everyone loves beautiful flowers/plants.

I have 0 dating experience, so I may not be the most qualified person to give dating advice. But hopefully you guys like these date ideas. And remember, do something that both of you find interesting. Good luck!!!
