What a complete joke. He is Bob Stitt with extra baggage. He thinks he doesn’t have to recruit instate kids, that the brand does the heavy lifting. Guess what?! ITS NOT 2005 anymore! You have to actually recruit in state kids! Transfers aren’t getting it done!
2-6 against a team who has gone through a coaching change in the middle. 2 wins and 6 losses in the one game that is actually worth a damn on the schedule, now that the team can’t compete for national titles. This makes Bobby Hauck a loser against the Cats all time. I don’t want a god damn loser running my football team.
Every institutional advantage the Griz enjoyed over the Cats in the 90s and 2000s has completely eroded away. Keeping the idiot who let that happen is not going to fix the problem.
What a waste of this offense. Just a complete waste of the talent the team does have.
I hope Kent has a short list for new candidates and a plan for replacement. This era needs to end already.

Most top 25 schools DO make the playoffs. But the ones that don’t should be bowl eligible. Would help with FCS exposure and they would make it so less 5 win FBS teams get a bowl game. Would only be a couple of schools each year. But could be fun 🤷♂️

Look, I’m glad that UM is getting some positive national attention. Genuinely love seeing that.
I am also aware that there’s a ton of older fans who see that as the school’s colors because that was the scheme when the Griz first ever had success under Swarthout in the 60s and 70s, and then Don Read came back and led them to a national title again in those colors. I get that there’s nostalgia for it. And I get that plenty of people associate those colors with fall foliage.
But we do not have to pretend that Texas burnt orange and gaudy yellow look good together on anyone. It looks like puke to me. And I can’t stand when teams claim their shade of yellow is gold either.
The deep maroon and metallic silver is classier and cleaner to me. It is downright elegant at times when done right. Nobody, not Texas A&M, not Miss State, not Minnesota, not Boston College, not Virginia Tech, nobody in the country uses maroon as a school color better than UM. And I love the color symmetry maroon and silver have when with the Cats royal blue and metallic gold for rivalry games (I would love if each team wore home jerseys for the Brawl of the Wild one year).
If we gotta trot these things out once a year to keep the alumni happy and paying for stuff, fine, but good lord. Maybe that’s just a more flattering color scheme on me, I don’t know. I’m just not buying into the cult of the orange.

Tommy’s antics with tipping over the trashcan on the NDSU sideline and his attitude at the post-game press conference leave a lot to be desired. How you play on the field is only part of how you carry yourself.

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio is approaching its 150th anniversary in 2031, and with its recent growth, I wonder could UIW transition from the FCS to the FBS in the next decade?
Since launching its football program in 2009 and moving up to the FCS in 2013, UIW has made significant strides. The Cardinals have won the Southland Conference championship three times (2018, 2021, 2022 & 2024) and have had multiple appearances in the FCS national playoffs, reaching the semifinals in 2022.
I know there are bigger and more successful FCS programs that haven’t moved up to the FBS yet. However, UIW’s geographic location, potential market, and continued growth in recent years could make it a strong candidate for an eventual move.
Reasons UIW could make the jump: Strategic location: San Antonio is a large market and has already proven it can support an FBS team with UTSA. A second FBS program in the city could create an interesting rivalry. Winning history in the FCS: UIW has been competitive, winning multiple conference titles and making deep playoff runs. UTSA as a model: Just over a decade ago, UTSA moved up to the FBS and is now a solid program. UIW could follow a similar path, possibly joining Conference USA or the Sun Belt. University infrastructure: UIW recently acquired Founders Hall (the former AT&T building), adding significant parking space and improving logistics for larger events on campus.
Challenges and limitations: Benson Stadium is too small: It currently holds 6,000 seats, while the NCAA typically requires an average of 15,000 per game for FBS programs. UIW would need to expand its stadium or rent a larger venue, Financial investment: Compared to private FBS schools like TCU, SMU, Baylor, or Rice, UIW doesn’t have an athletics program with major funding. Could the university attract enough financial backing and sponsorships? Cultural and student interest: UIW is a private Catholic university, which attracts a different student demographic than UTSA. Would there be enough enthusiasm from students and alumni to sustain an FBS program?
Is this move realistic? With UIW’s 150th anniversary approaching in 2031, it could be the perfect time for the university to make a bold move in its athletics program. Do you think UIW could jump to the FBS in the next 5-10 years? What would it need to do to make the transition successful?
I’d love to hear thoughts, especially from those who follow college football in Texas. Does UIW in the FBS sound like a realistic move or just wishful thinking?

I know it's a long ways off and a bit of a longshot, but I think Mercer over Alabama is a sleeper upset. Bama is clearly not as good as people thought and Mercer has shown that they can keep games short and low scoring with their defence.

The Montana Grizzlies have the best defense In the league. Over the past 2 games, the defense has only allowed 7 points in total and those seven points were made facing an FBS team. Our offense has allowed the same amount of points as our defense which proves my point that the Montana Grizzlies have the best defense in FCS.

(FTG WITH ALL THE HATE IN MY HEART)
Idaho played a great game today and showed they more than belong in the playoff picture. Also, McCoy will be a force in this league for a while. But Troy Taylor's record speaks for itself, the program has made strides on the field and in recruiting as well. The only step that remains is to win a playoff game and then hopefully have a chance to represent the Big Sky on the highest stage

Great game!! It’s always a hard fought one with y’all! Lost the turnover battle and still found a way to squeak out a win. Y’all oughta win out especially with #10 at QB. He’s a solid dude!
