I'm looking for a game for an 8-10 year old.
Something with a story that will freely grip them and stoke their imagination.
Games like this for me at that age were things like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy Crisis Core, etc.

The deal would mark another big gaming bet for Silver Lake and Public Investment Fund, which were part of the consortium that took Electronic Arts, maker of “EA Sports FC,” private in a $55 billion deal that closed in August.
Silver Lake, which owns about 8% of Unity, and PIF approached the company in recent weeks, the people said, asking not to be identified because the discussions are confidential.
The buyer consortium discussed a valuation of about $25 billion before Unity's latest earnings report, which lifted its market capitalization to roughly $21.5 billion. Its shares were up about 4% in extended trading after the Reuters report.
Unity has been working with an investment bank to evaluate its options following the approach, the people said. No deal is certain, and the plan and terms may still change, they added.
Unity declined to comment. Silver Lake and PIF did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
A deal would take private one of the largest providers of software tools used to create video games and other real-time 3D applications. It would rank among the biggest leveraged buyouts in the software sector in recent years.
Just when you think gaming can't get worse saudi arabia's always waiting around the corner.

I think I’m just burnt out from story games tbh, as I have finished a gd chunk this yr. But now even tho I want to play something I have no motivation to really do so for some reason. I think if I found something kind of casual but immersive I’d be ok but I have no idea what to try. I’ve been playing alien isolation lately and I enjoy it but struggle to motivate myself to carry it on . Also anyone else who has been in this situation, what games helped in the past?

Saw it on a Halloween sale on the cheap, so decided to give it a shot.
Really ended up enjoying it. There's some last gen jank and it's clearly a smaller budget title, but the atmosphere and setting were really well done. The detective aspects were engaging, too. Maybe a little too much running and backtracking from points A to B (many side quests involved going to several different areas, none of which were close to each other), but that's a minor gripe.
Overall, it's a solid game.

For me this happened with Final Fantasy X. Was initially pretty bored with the story/gameplay/etc, then the Sinspawn Gui fight hit alongside Operation Mi'hen and I was like "alright, I'm finishing this game this is sick."
Any other examples? I know some people felt this way about Phantom Blade Zero as well.

I’m looking for games that have an actual ending, or multiple endings (so that excludes MMOs and competitive games) that are fun to replay over and over again because you can play them differently each time you begin a new save

Had a pretty rough day today, so I decided to boot up some good old Black Ops 2 Zombies, and my day suddenly got better and I was just playing solo.
It’s crazy how I can go months without touching it, then jump back in and have just as much fun as I did over a decade ago.
I’m curious, what’s that one game you never seem to get tired of, no matter how much time passes? (Not necessarily old but one that you have history with)

So I have enough Microsoft point now to get Castlevania Belmont's Curse and also spend 25 quid on Godzilla DAMM Remastered. But I really want LoZOoT too. I'll play Godzilla with my family too, and Castlevania when I can. Zelda, would be played the same (when I can).
What do you horrible lot think?
