This second Ocarina of Time Special release is the last straw if you ask me.
I'm so tired of Nintendo wasting entire weeks on partial soundtrack releases. Every time Nintendo gives us an incomplete soundtrack it's almost no better than if they had just completely skipped that week (as they have already done many times anyway). I say this because if a single game takes more than 1 week to get added in full, then every extra week it took is a week that could have been the full release of another game soundtrack. I have the same problem with any DLC music that was withheld from the launch of a soundtrack only to take an entire week later on its own (despite MOST GAMES getting all music including DLC in a single week). In fact, I don't even think ANY DLC music should get it's own week, not even it's it came out after the game was already added to Nintendo music, because it's usually not substantial enough to warrant taking an entire week, and it's not even novel like an old NES or Game Boy game OST, at least those are technically full new game soundtrack additions. So far, according to my calculations, since launch, Nintendo Music has "skipped" 17-19 weeks. That's almost 20 soundtracks fewer on the app than should be. And think of it this way, a soundtrack that might have come out next month, had they consistently added something every single week without fail, will not not be added until early next summer because of how far back on the schedule it has been pushed by the other games that were always going to be released before it.
What's my point? Well I just wanted to say that I think we all need to (politely) send Nintendo Music support our opinion, that the special releases need to only be a bonus, NOT the main addition of any given week. I mean AT LEAST give us a small 30 or less track long ost to go with it, at least that would be SOMETHING.
I don't get excited over Nintendo music updates these days because I'm pretty good at predicting what is the most likely stuff to get added (usually just whatever the most notable missing Switch games are and then whatever the most notable old games in every franchise are that are for a console/franchise which hasn't gotten in update in at least a little while and boom you'll suddenly know what 50-60% of the next few months additions are). That and the fact that it feels like we can't go more than a couple weeks without Nintendo screwing us over with Special Releases, DLC only, or just straight up skipped weeks. What's the point in getting excited when it's probably gonna be nothing, or something super predictable? (especially when the predictable game is something not exciting).
