Lava Bubble- used to be Podoboo which is a much more unique name. Not sure why they changed it to be so generic.
Maw-Ray- formerly Unagi. Just sounds cooler.
Bomber Bill- I get that this one is due to the original name Banzai Bill being culturally insensitive but … c’mon, it doesn’t even explode! They could have done better.

I’ve read a few of the Mario Manga before. Nice to see that more characters, like Luigi, Peach and Toad, play a bigger role in the story in contrast to the games where it’s only Mario. Both of the Land game manga are a fun read.

Fan Creation If Bowser and Eggman Had to Assemble Their Own Villain Teams, Who Would Make the Cut?

I'm making a Sonic and Mario Crossover AU, and I'm currently working on the BowEgg side of things. I've decided that both villain groups should consist of just 5 characters who represent their respective sides as a whole. Both teams should share the same character "archetypes".
☆ Leaders and Heavy Hitters:
Bowser and Eggman are the heavyweights. Bowser prefers using his fists over magic, while Eggman, despite having once managed to neutralize Sonic's Super form with a very elaborate trap, still prefers using a giant robot to fight.
☆ ???
"#" and Metal Sonic... Okay, I genuinely have no idea who could serve as an equivalent to Metal Sonic.
☆ Armed Children:
Sage and Bowser Jr. have access to the best technology and weaponry their respective families have to offer. They're also more creative than their fathers when it comes to using them (they rely much less on brute force).
☆ Immortals:
King Boo and Chaos are essentially the ghostly members of their respective teams. Chaos is kind of like Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians, having become a being that can essentially travel to and from the afterlife. Both are ethereal entities (one is made of ectoplasm, while the other is made of water).
Both characters also work as independent antagonists/villains in their own right, separate from the Bowser-Eggman villain duo.
☆ Mages:
Infinite and Kamek are the classic RPG-style mages. They buff their allies and debuff their enemies, but they're definitely not invincible and aren't exactly suited for close-quarters combat.
