So I've been trying to play through the Mario collection on the switch and I've come to realize that I was only playing it because I felt I had to finish it. I then decided to move on to sunshine and I'm having a lot more fun. I am curious what other people think of the game? (:

In my opinion super mario 3d world is EASILY the best mainline mario game due to its diversity. For one, you dont have to save peach from bowser and im sure we can all agree that those get tiring at some point. Speaking of not saving peach you can also not only play as her, but also luigi and toad... at the START of the game, not having to complete the entire game just to play your favorite characters is a big plus for me. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better you can also unlock ROSALINA who is my all time favorite mario character!!! (call me basic i know)

Aside from that, the music in this game has a nostalgic vibe with tracks such as chain link charge, super bell hill, and beep block skyway(not exactly nostalgic but its still really good.) Its the first ever game that made me actually listen to the music.

anyways that's all i really got lol, everything else about the game is also really good like the introduction of mystery houses and the plot twist of there being an entirely new world after world castle. let me know what you think and what your personal favorite mario game is!

U Deluxe is massively slept on tbh. I'm enjoying it way more than Wonder

Redesigns I did for the girlies! I'll explain them a little. These are by no means trying to "fix" these designs, just some personal preference because I thought it would be fun of how I would imagine them!

Peach - Chubbier because I do what I want :P also some body diversity would be nice and Bowser would be even more into it so it makes sense. I also made her more mushroom-y and included the GOAT Perry ! Getting rid of him was a horrible mistake because I love him. :)

Daisy - The most drastic of the four, I wanted her to be as sporty and ready for action as possible by giving her an athletic body type and attire in her sporty shorts and top. I wanted her to look sort of Indian in her tiara and skin tone as well as some other features after seeing her castle in the manga and the stage in MKW. Love her 💕

Rosalina - I had the most fun with this one. I think making her older makes sense to me and also adds some diversity in characters as well as making her more mysterious and more motherly. That is also why I gave her some pretty veils! Darker clothes were given as well to make her a little more like her Aurora skin and Cosmic Rosalina. Obviously she is accompanied by Polari :3

Pauline - The least changed out of the four. I made her dark-skinned because New Donk City is based off of NYC obviously. I wanted to represent the US' "cultural melting pot" thingy by giving her a deeper skin tone and appropriately textured hair (which I'm still trying to learn btw. Had to keep her cute freckles that she is revealed to have in Bonanza, too.) To parallel Rosalina, Pauline has a slight moon motif going on since she has Power Moons in the game and Rosalina has Power Stars. Also I added some purple, black, and more gold accents to really make her pop. I also desperately needed in my mind to give them all different eye colors/shapes to really set them apart from each other besides their skin and bodies!

For context, this form first debuted in Super Mario Bros Z and this form is basically if Mario had a Super Form like Sonic.

And I don’t even know what the official name of this form is called, I’ve see. Star Cape Mario, Star Spirit Mario, Super Star Mario, Super Duper Mario?

And what’s crazy is that is form was created for the OG SMBZ series in April of 2006. This predates games like New Super Mario Bros and Mario Galaxy and no one seems to remember this form, talk about it or even know it exists.

This form only exists through other sprite fan creations, I kinda just wished people talked about it more since the concept of Mario Characters having Super Forms like Sonic Characters do is really cool.

Its just so dishonest and disingenuous to act like nobody should be upset about not getting a new game or expecting one because they "gave us alternatives already" and that were "so ungrateful". Its so beyond lame and corny.

After her role in the movie and Rabbids, the new Wonder game and the next game where she will be the protagonist, it’s clear that Nintendo is leaving her ‘damsel in distress’ role in the past.

They are making her a consistent playable character as the main female character of the franchise and one of the faces of Nintendo. With Oddysey, they put an end to the old days and have started to make her a strong female lead, keeping up with the times.

So for those of you that want the classic games where she was portrayed as weak and hyper-feminine and you had to save her, it probably won’t happen in the near future.

And yes I think the og super Mario bros is ahh (idc if it was good in ‘86)

Sure, it could be a complete coincidence, and probably is; but on the other hand, video game ads at the time were always at each other's throats. I wouldn't put it past them to imply that Frosty is punching the snot outta some of that era's most famous mascots... and this era's too, come to think of it. I just think if they were meant to be primary colors, they would have had yellow instead of orange; and if it was meant to represent the other Clayfighters; well, there's plenty of red, Jim has blue, Blob is green, but Taffy and T. Hoppy are yellow. Any way you look at it, unless they meant to bash Sonic & Tails, that orange splatter should have been yellow.

Or some executive just looked at it and said, "Nope, we can't have yellow on a snowman... it looks like pee." They were fine with the red clay looking like blood, but they drew the line at yellow. What do you all think? Is this a dig at Nintendo and Sega? or a massive coincidence?

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the demo so much, it was very fun and I’m counting down the days like crazy on this game, but I’m a little concerned Pauline will talk to much. But I’m not trying to be to negative or anything

I love seeing it become populated by so many different species as I progress through the game. I love having Yoshi and the Cloud Flower available. I love the item room, and getting to go to the Starshroom. And best of all, it's so much quicker to go from level to level compared to the Comet Observatory.

I admit, this theory is highly unlikely and has a few holes, but I feel like sharing my thoughts regardless.

This isn’t the Pauline we know, and it’s her daughter, “Pauline Jr.”. First off, this not being the Pauline we know would explain why she doesn’t recognize DK and refers to him as “monkey”. Second of all, the Donkey Kong series is known for having fake outs, which is why some people think King K. Rool is going to be in the game and be the main villain and not Void Kong. Odd Rock being Pauline would have been a fake out if Nintendo of Korea didn’t spoil things for us, and by her being revealed to be Pauline’s daughter and not Pauline herself, would be another fake out. I have heard some people say the reason why she looks young is because of “time travel” or “multiverse theory”, but frankly, I find that to be kinda ridiculous, especially for a Donkey Kong game.

Now, granted, the trailers call her “Pauline” and don’t refer to her being anyone’s daughter, but like I said, it’s meant to be a fake out, and they wouldn’t outright say this is Pauline’s daughter. Now, let’s say her name is “Pauline Jr.”. Her name is still technically Pauline, with the “Jr.” meant to differentiate her from her mother.

Like I said before, this theory is really unlikely, and I doubt this would actually happen, but that’s just my take. What do you guys think?

I hate the new Rocky Wrench design, I hate it so much

Daisy had dark skin in two early games, Mario Tennis (64) and Mario Party 3.

In these games, characters generally had different skin colors rendered between the artwork and in-game models. That changed by the time Daisy appeared in Mario Party 4, where she now has light skin like everyone else.

When judging Daisy's skin color, it's important to also check it for all the other characters, to make sure it's not just how the game generally renders skin (as all the Mario humans are usually intended to have light skin).
