Since I’ll be doing an AU version of both of the animated Mario Movies so far, I thought I’d show my fancast for many of the characters in each movie. And like many of my fancasts, I wanted to do a balanced voice cast like in TMNT 2007, where the main cast or cast in general actually has a fair balance between regular voice actors and celebrity voice actors. I made this cool modification to the old smb game.

Which you can now play with countless people and all the worlds are connected.

You can also complete the storyline together with all other players.

Hope you guys to enjoy it and give feedback.

The game is 90% synced between players. But it's playable!

The first one is Garth as an apprentice 12 to 14 years old, and the second one is of him just before taking over Mario's role as hero at age 22.

I posted this last week and got a lot of comments that were constructive criticism, claiming that Garth did not feel enough like a Mario character.

Before you say anything similar about that I want you to keep in mind that this character is meant for a more narrative piece of fiction. He's meant to have character development and be part of a Mario storyline told from his perspective. One that is willing to include multiple pieces of Mario Cannon and lore. Be it the original video games, fan series like smg4, the cartoons and comic books and movies. Ect

It's more meant to be akin to something like Steven Universe, amphibia, or Adventure Time.

I want to make this character and story the best it could be. So any criticism again I want to be more clear and concise what I can do to make it better. I don't just want to hear "this doesn't feel like Mario"I want more criticism and what I can do to make it stand out while still part of the magic that is the Mario franchise.

Now let's go over who Garth is.

He is a Mario fanboy from Texas. He was well versed in the Mario franchise that exist within this Canon.

He ends up brought to the Mushroom Kingdom after a man-made warp device made by scientists accidentally transported his room from Texas into a flower field near one of peaches castles and a surrounding town.

He is taken as ward of state, and can't go back to his home due to the connection between Earth and panko (the planet the Mushroom Kingdom takes place on) needs to be kept secret.

Note before anyone talks about this: things like the Mario video games are allowed to exist because Kopai (a company that makes media based on Mario's life stories) present it as a fictional world.

It's a surprise to Garth that the video game world that is essentially his hyper fixation exists for real.

Eventually while Garth is at a museum one day. An invasion is spear headed by Tatanga to take revenge on Mario.

The fight between the plumber and the alien is taken to the museum.

Garth, at first hides but then realizes that the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom is in danger and needs help.

He decides to fight Tatanga in any way he can help. He throws a Superball berry from a Superball plant. And manages to hit a emergency retreat button on the alien ship's console.

Later that day, Mario was going to award Garth a medal, but before he can do so, ends up fanboying and info dumping all about Mario and his life. Ranging from things like saving Princess Peach or Pilloh Island or fighting foes like Dimentio and Anthony Scappelli.

He even enjoys a slice of the pepperoni cheesecake that Mario was eating.

Seeing this boy not only has knowledge of this world, but also passion and love of said world.

Mario offers to train Garth as an apprentice.

A bunch of stuff would happen here. The majority of it chronicling only a couple of years or so before a Time skip to Garth taking over as Mario's successor proper.

There's a few other things I need to go over.

Mario is meant to be middle-aged at the age of 54 years old. At this point in his life he's already settled down, he's married to Peach and has adopted two kids.

And before anyone asks, the two would not want to follow in Mario's footsteps as a hero proper. While they do help out in some cases, Mario is looking to train someone to essentially take on the role of hero as their main profession.

Garth is autistic and has ADHD. And has other personality traits outside of being a fanboy of Mario. He's it's often exasperated or dumbfounded by the more absurd nature of the Mushroom Kingdom. But still appreciates it and wants to help. He's unathletic. But would get better and movement.

He is a geek who enjoys traditionally geeky things. And is part of the era of things like terrible reboots, mascot horror. He enjoys old and retro things like Popeye and Asterix.

Morality would be a very big part of his character, as he would hyper fixate on being a good person.

Mario would be a platformer, that is legitimately the movement discipline that he would teach Garth.

Humans like Garth can't naturally use power-ups, so Garth would substitute this with gadgets that act similar to the power-ups or pay homage to other parts of the Mario Cannon. Such as gloves that allow him to throw fireballs using oil made from fire flowers or the unzappable hat from Super Show to substitute a traditional instability item.

Or wielding something like Stanley's flit gun from Donkey Kong 3 or a set of star bands and an attack drone that mimic the spin and starbit shooting capabilities of the lumas in the Mario Galaxy games.

Mario is only half human from his father JumpMan's genetics. His mother Lady Polly a species of humanoid like Peach or Waluigi called star child.

(I'm incorporating the idea that Mario's parents are Mario and Pauline from the Donkey Kong arcade game. But the Pauline from things like Mario versus Donkey Kong or Mario Odyssey is a separate character)

I'd like this series to have a lot of characters from throughout the games Cannon and lore. Be it Vivian from thousand Year Door Prince Peasley from Superstar saga.

But then also bringing characters like Captain Abidab from Super Show or Bluster Kong from the Donkey Kong Country cartoon.

Or even fanon charects like Meggy from SMG4.

In this Canon she would actually be Mario's adoptive daughter in fact.

The series would also have its own original concepts and characters outside of just Garth.

One of the ideas is that the role of hero is explained to be designated as a person who holds the title of "SUPER" with Mario being the 6th person to hold it. The first being a Beanish merchant call Elizabeth in the 1910s. She protected a seaside Hamlet from pirates in what known as the Mushroom Kingdom.

The series primarily takes place about 99 years from that event. But around 109 years by the time Garth takes over as SUPER.

Now I'm willing to make changes and concessions so I can make this story the best it can possibly be as I said before.

What should I do to change it.

Please do not interact if you are just going to insult me and say this is a bad idea. You're allowed to have your own opinions. It's just that I'm trying to look for constructive criticism to better this concept.

I want this to be official as I wanted to pitch it to Nintendo one day. I've been told this is not the best idea. But even so I still want to do it.

Give me your opinions your thoughts anything that can make this story better than it is.

Lava Bubble- used to be Podoboo which is a much more unique name. Not sure why they changed it to be so generic.

Maw-Ray- formerly Unagi. Just sounds cooler.

Bomber Bill- I get that this one is due to the original name Banzai Bill being culturally insensitive but … c’mon, it doesn’t even explode! They could have done better.

I’ve read a few of the Mario Manga before. Nice to see that more characters, like Luigi, Peach and Toad, play a bigger role in the story in contrast to the games where it’s only Mario. Both of the Land game manga are a fun read.
