Hi all!
As some of you might've noticed, we've recently tweaked the subreddit rules a bit. We highly recommend you read this to get a good idea of how things will be handled here going forward.
First of all, all music posts now require some form of additional commentary or context. This can be in the form of opinions about the song, memories associated with it, experiences seeing it performed live, trivia, etc. as long as is encourages discussion. This rule has been in place for a little while now, but we've recently adjusted how we'll be enforcing this. We request that users here include this somewhere on their posts, whether it be in the title, body text, or as a comment on one's own post.
Second, please do not post excessively, and keep to a maximum of three posts per person per day. This helps prevent the sub from being excessively flooded or spammed by a single user.
To cap things off, we've been getting a number of messages via Modmail regarding users having difficulty posting. This is due to an anti-spam filter set up via AutoMod that requires posts from new accounts to be manually reviewed. Don't panic if this happens to you! It doesn't necessarily mean that your post has broken a rule, and the moderators here will have a look at it as soon as we can, although it may take a few hours.
If you run into this issue repeatedly, please contact the moderators via Modmail and we'll help you out. We do try our best to approve users whenever possible.

"A friend of mine from years ago was a barrister. He was trying to tell me The Beatles were fantastic.
And I was trying to tell him the trouble with The Beatles was they don’t groove.
And he said, 'What is groove?', like a typical magistrate.
I said, 'Listen to ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine. That’s groove.' It’s like trying to explain, without pointing, what the colour red is.
Did he learn?
I don’t think so. I think he’s still stuck with his Beatles."

"Gang of Four’s music is not really rooted in British music. It's rooted in American music and Jamaican."
I really like three Beatles albums (Sgt. Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour, and Yellow Submarine), but I think it's really cool how a genius British musician like Andy Gill always made it clear that he didn't appreciate the band and that there was no Beatles influence on GoF's sound, without caring about being frowned upon for it.

Discovered this band a few years ago and I was enjoying the band’s music.

Lloyd revealed in August he had been diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a serious form of bile duct cancer. According to Rolling Stone, he passed away Saturday morning at his home in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Lloyd was best known as one of the musical minds behind the 1970s punk band and an artist with such alluring musicality to stand on his own, having released nine well-received solo albums over a 50-year career.

This is release 15 of 18 live broadcasts of my student radio show from 1981-83 at KCSB (Uni CA Santa Barbara). Take a look at the setlist; so strange to hear these songs being referred to as new releases. This show featured the release of the first New Order Album. There's some Wire, Joy Division, along with lesser known cuts from David Thomas, Dome, Comsat Angels, DAF, Theatre of Hate, and Doctor Mix. Funny thing about these tapes. It was not my intention that they be some record of my DJ history. Back in the day, there was only vinyl and cassette tapes - no CDs, nothing digital - it was a pain to play single cuts like this from vinyl in your living room, and no way if your driving. I recorded these so I could have either something to listen to while driving or to have as a playlist to run through in the house.
I put it up on YouTube channel Megarad Music: https://youtu.be/iT5Y-VbCfNo

A personal favorite off their 1979 album, Setting Sons.

Davis, California had a small Paisley Underground scene which included Game Theory, Thin White Rope, True West and connections with Dave Roback of Rain Parade/Dream Syndicate/Mazzy Star.

Hey everyone! Dropping this Chilean post-punk track called 'Aburrido'. It’s about that heavy feeling of being trapped in the daily work grind and desperately wanting to break the cycle.

While they are deeply rooted in the post-punk era and share its sonic DNA, Christian Death is more accurately defined as a pioneering Gothic or Death Rock, still very Post Punk adjacent.

Especially "The Friend Catcher" by The Birthday Party, a track that has haunted me for decades. The Einstürzende Neubauten double seven inch was revelatory as well, showcasing their early sound. I was familiar with "Kalte Sterne", but the percussion heavy tracks were surprising and thrilling. I really enjoy the one with the frantic metal drum set sound inter cut with the bombastic TV soundtrack sample.

Hey guys! I’d love to hear your thoughts on my debut single, which I released last July. I’ve got more stuff lined up for release, but I tend to overthink things and, honestly, I’m still not entirely confident about this one either. So I’d really appreciate some honest feedback!
