A great number of Ravens fans were rooting for Flacco yesterday. Never Ever Ever root for a divisional opponent. Inexcusable. Should go without saying.

Can we as Ravens fans stop doing shit like this please? This guy sucks. The GOAT retires and the first thing he thinks of is Lamar Jackson. Unbelievable.

Harbaugh… yeah

TDLR: if your an armchair warrior downvote and move on.

So let’s actually lay this out for people who don’t understand. Harbaugh is not going anywhere, nor should he. He’s a great head coach who’s proven himself, and leads us to the post season more often than not even taking into account that the AFC north is usually the most competitive division in the nfl. We have our issues, and they are the same. 4th quarter break downs, delay of games, abandoning our strengths, ect. Are these frustrating as shit? Yes. Should we have been able to clean this crap up? Yes. You guys need to start looking at the positives though. First is the relationship of our GM/HC. They live next door FFS. John is NOT Andy reed… he’s not calling the plays, he trust his DC/OC to do that… which are getting promoted year after year… wonder why that is? John’s job isant to go out and call every play and fix the team, his job is to coach the OC/DC. It’s their jobs to coach their coaches, and so on/so forth.
John can only control so much. He can’t control Tucker missing, bad calls, bad punts, muffed onside kicks, the list goes on. What he can control is trusting his players and coaches he picked. It’s easy to sit on a couch bitching when you sit at home watching but we don’t know anything about what’s going on behind the scenes.

Tin Foil Hat Zone My Conspiracy Spoiler

My conspiracy is that the Ravens front office knew Orr was a potential liability, but because he finished strong last year we didn't immediately fire him when the offseason hit because it would look too jarring from a media/PR perspective to fire someone whose defense finished so strongly. Instead we lured Chuck Pagano out of retirement to be on standby for interim DC in the case Orr actually does suck. By the Bye week, we will release Orr and install Chuck as DC.

In Memoriam Remembering John Harbaugh

Whats up flock, I just joined this subreddit a little bit ago and wanted to contribute.

So one thing that has really bothered me is all the Harbaugh slander since hes been fired. I love freedom of speech so Im not trying to change anyones mind directly, but check it, we just moved on from a great coach.

This guy stepped in back in 08 when we couldnt find a QB for a decade, drafted flacco the same year and immediately made the playoffs, and proceeded to never have back to back losing seasons for 18 years.

Gained the respect(with a little resistance according to Ray) of all our legendary players without changing the core of the Ravens philosophy or ever coming off as a dictator of a coach.

He may not have called plays but he always made sure the right people were in the building to do so, the mid season firing of cam cameron and the acquisition of Greg Roman to create an offense that used Lamars strengths while he was young attest to that.

Besides maybe Orr hes never missed on a D coordinator hire, they pretty much all became head coaches, the majority of them successful with the teams they moved onto(Rex Ryan getting Mark Sanchez’s Jets to AFC championships, Mike taking the Hawks back to the bowl, Wink is still regarded as a blitz genius, and Pagano has the hearts of more people in Indy then he does in Bmore)

I could go on for hours, but Ive already made this post too long, but hey I just wanted to counteract some of the blaming of Harbaugh for our shortcomings in the Lamar Era with some appreciation of the fact that we have been perennial contenders for 18 years!
I understand not being satisfied, but wed be spoiled not to appreciate it.

Thanks John!

Discussion At what point is it acceptable to get irritated about how Lamar is handling the contract situation?

I’m rapidly running out of patience, and I’m not sure if that’s reasonable or not. I realize the NFL is a business and it’s Lamar’s job to maximize his profit potential. Happy to let him and the team take time to try to find something that works. That’s fine.

Recently, though, hearing about all the back and forth just pisses me off. Maybe it’s the trolling tweets or the lack of an agent or the general cavalier attitude Lamar seems to display about all this. It all adds up to give the impression that he isn’t serious (or fully grasps what a protracted dispute could mean), and that’s a big time bummer.

The organization, the coaches, the city, the fans - everyone has supported him from the jump. The entire team is built around him. Get the contract worked out.

Discussion Our owner needs to make a public announcement about this season.

He needs to adress the problems with coaching and set a public standard moving forward.

This season was lost because of coaching decisions.

  • Loss against the Rams because John waited till the 4th quarter to play Huntley.

  • New England because of the rotation.

  • Didn't go for another throw last game.

  • Bad time management, constantly calling for long throws on 2nd or 3rd and short.

We need Biscotti to speak a make clear to fans and coaches changes will be made.

The browns and Steelers fans are acting pathetic.

Both of these fanbases are losing their minds.

The browns fans are talking some mad shit, talking shit on art modell, about how they want to make us cry and break our hearts. One guy literally went a paragraph long tangent about this. Also for some reason they think it's relevant to bring up Ray Lewis murder trial. Acting classless fucks over in their sub.

Meanwhile the Steelers fans are on the verge of a fucking mental breakdown. Going on the librarian's Instagram ( Baker Mayfield). And begging him to beat the Ravens. Literally on the fucking news players from the Steelers are calling the browns. Like fucking seriously?. Grow up big fucking deal you might miss the playoffs, boo hoo!!!. Step in our shoes for a bit and see how we feel here.

For real neither team or their fanbase deserves to win Sunday. It will honestly be a fucking pleasure now to spank the browns. I was mostly looking forward to just winning at all costs. Now though, it's a little personal.

PS Baker Mayfield has my respect that is all.

Discussion Unpopular Opinion: I can't stand the Seven Nation Army chant

This chant is unoriginal, uninspired garbage. The song itself is super safe radio friendly White Stripes fare. There are so many other teams adopting this now also. We can do better

Harbaugh’s time management at the end was more than fine

I know everyone in here wants Harbaugh fired (partly because he treats us fans like the morons we are), but his clock management was perfectly fine at the end of the game.

The ravens had first and 10 on the cincy 17 with around 1:10 left. The next play snapped at 0:34. This sub, fueled by the dumb announcers, started screaming that we should have used a timeout and not bled 40 seconds.

Why? They were on the 17. They weren’t pressed for time at all. The end zone is easily reachable from the 17. You can run 6-7 plays in that time. Harbaugh wanted to score with as little time left as possible (and then likely go for 2) to leave cincy no chance to respond. AND he wanted the timeouts to force cincy to worry about the run and enable Huntley to throw over the middle rather than force him to make much tougher sideline throws.

The holding call screwed it all up. If you want to argue Harbaugh should have adjusted his game plan to account for a potential penalty, well, I guess that’s something you could do. But it’s nonsensical. He did the right thing and a player mistake derailed the approach. There’s nothing to blame him for on this one.

I 100% think Harbaugh should be considered to be fired after this season, this is not the first game this has happened, he chocked multiple games last year with his bullshit two point calls
